Pete and his crew arrived promptly when stated. They took no time in getting the work done. They primed the fence the first day along with fixing a hole in one of the metal fence posts. They also patched holes in the entryway. The next day they painted the entryway along with all of the woodwork and doors. They also painted the fence. Pete and his crew did the work in no time and transformed our entryway. It looks immensely better and you cannot even tell how bad it looked before. The transformation was great and I would hire Pete to do any work in the future.
Description of Work: Our condo association hired Accurate Painting to paint our entryway along with our front fence. The fence needed priming before painting as well.

Pete did a wonderful job, and really knows his work. I couldn't believe how little I knew about interior painting! He gave great advice onmaking sure I got a good match in terms of paint color (the apartment hadn't been painted in quite some time, I'd guess), and he made the place look great. I also very much appreciated his willingness to squeeze in my relatively small job among other work he had on his plate to fit my timeline. He has a laid-back personality but cares a lot about doing the job right -- he (nicely) resisted when I tried to talk him to take shortcuts so it would be easier on him!!
Description of Work: Pete and a co-worker of his painted the interior of a rental apartment I own. They did the walls and most of the baseboards in one workday.

I think that because Accurate Painting is so good the company is very busy. That said, Pete was able to squeeze in my apt so that everything could be freshly painted before my movers arrived. It worked out perfectly.
Description of Work: Pete showed up on time and with color swatches for the estimate. His review of the interior was thorough and he pointed out things that I didn't even notice. He provided good advice on what neutral color would look best in my home as well. The actual paint job was done well and they took care of my wood floors, carpeting and kitchen cabinets. I am happy with the experience and will use this company again.

I called Pete Simon and within 24 hours he returned my phone call. We set up to meet the next day and Pete arrived on time. He was very detailed about the job he and his workers would do and pointed out some defects that I or my husband had not noticed. Pete is a very personable professional and is quite easy to talk to. After 5 minutes you feel like he's an old friend. He took more time than was probably necessary to explain things to me and did not seem annoyed when I would ask questions over and over. I received Pete's proposal on a timely basis as he promised and thought it was a good deal. At 8 O'clock on Tuesday, Pete and his crew of 2 workers, Sergio and John, showed up. Sergio and John were very friendly and respectful. They quickly moved their equipment to the job site on the 3rd floor and began working. I was very impressed with how thorough they were. Again, Pete found more cracks that we did not notice. Because it was in the seam of the wall and ceiling in the hallway, he advised that they might need to also paint the ceiling if the paint I had did not match. We opted to just have the ceiling in the hallway painted so that it would flow and look good. This added a few dollars to Pete's proposal but it was well worth it. It took Sergio and John 2 days to complete my project and I can not be happier. They cleaned up before leaving after the first day and the last day I could hardly tell they were ever there. I would use this company over and over again. Thanks Pete, Sergio and John!
Description of Work: Painted the guest bedroom, bathroom and closet including ceiling, trim and 2 windows; a small powder room ceiling and trim; and a hallway including ceiling and trim. They covered all floors, caulked and filled nail holes in new baseshoe moulding. They also did some plastering, sanding, spot priming, taping and caulking (there were stress cracks in hallway).

First, my biggest concern was about adhesive and plaster dust and chemical odors getting into the rest of the house, not just because it would be a mess and smelly, but also because my elderly father has chronic respiratory disease. So beforehand, I taped plastic over all the appliances, the shutters in the windows and the doors. When Israel arrived (right on time), he assured me that the smell would be minimal, and he was a good sport about working taped into the kitchen. He did an excellent job--the walls look great--and he cleaned up thoroughly. We did get some essence of solvent--not a smell, but we could feel it a little in our throats--in the rest of the house, but a little cross ventilation aired it out, and my father had no problems breathing at any time. Israel completed the job in the 8 hours allotted and had some valuable recommendations about a plaster repair for the kitchen ceiling. We would definitely consider using Accurate to do additional plaster work in the kitchen and do the painting.
Description of Work: This was a Big Deal for wallpaper removal and wall prep for painting. I bought the Big Deal for my father, and the work was done in the kitchen of his house. We had removed most of the wallpaper already, but there was adhesive on the walls, a few nails were left in the plaster, and the plaster in the 100-year-old building had some cracks. The workman, Israel, from Accurate Painting and Remodeling dealt with it all.

Description of Work: Pete scheduled an appointment for an estimate; he failed to show up or call. When I called him, after waiting for an hour, his only comment was "I thought I had something scheduled". We would have rescheduled if he asked in advance or, even, called at the appointment time with a good reason for not showing up.

I used an Angie's List "Big Deal." I contacted the company to get the service performed. It took a few calls to arrange a date (exterior painting depends on weather as well as availability of painters). I purchased the paint myself and was able to use the contractor's account at a local paint store which provided a nice discount. The painters arrived about 15 minutes early, were knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. After explaining the job they got started and did a very nice job. Everything was cleaned up nicely when they finished. Overall a good experience.

The owner, Mr. Simon, arrived on schedule. We were very pleased with his professionalism and continued evaluation of progress. There was a minimum of disruption to our life.In the future, as we plan to do further remodeling, we will call on Accurate Painting and Remodeling. Price was very reasonable compared with other quotes and he came on budget and on time.

Pete came out and gave us an estimate for the painting project. He pointed out the stress cracks and said he could have them fixed. We appreciated this because we had not even noticed them. We had 2 other estimates, and his was the lowest. The price in combination with the fact that he pointed out the stress cracks made our decision easy. Pete and his crew were punctual and did a really nice job. We would recommend them and use them again.

Beautiful job. Initially contacted company as a coupon was offered on Angie's List for 4 hours of plastering/painting. Accurate Painting's, Israel, plastered and painted for us. Our belongings were covered in plastic and our floors were covered with paper where necessary. The repair work was very well done. The owner, Pete Simon, was responsive and easy to work with. After this job was completed, I again hired Accurate to do some further interior work - which is currently in progress - including drywall.

My husband and I were planning on painting the ceiling and walls of our open floor plan of our first floor. The area is large and the task was daunting painting over 9' ceilings. Painting always sounds more fun and easier than it actually is, I firming believe certain things are worth paying for and this was one of them. We originally intended on painting the area overselves, but at the last minute decided to get an estimate. I called Pete for a verbal estimate on Saturday and after a 20 minute phone call he said he was nearby and could stop by to give an accurate estimate. He said the job was a full day two man job. We wanted the job done as soon as possible and he squeezed us into his schedule on Monday. He and his workers showed up on time, they were actually early and I notice him when I ran out to my car. He was very respectful and told me he didn't want to be rude and show up earlier than the time we agreed on 8am. The painters started working at 8am and were done with everything by 4pm. This was no easy task, I have no doubt in my mind it would have taken my husband and I over two weeks to complete and it would have cost us an arm and a leg to pay for rollers, pans, tape etc. They began by skim coat sanding our ceiling and walls (we prepped our walls before hand- all new drywall that had previously mudded, tapped, and primed) I liked the fact that they did this because it helped ensure that we didn't have any flaws in our walls. They found few spots that needed to be touched up prior to painting. They worked hard and fast painting the ceilings and walls. There were a few area that we asked them to touch up after they were done and they did so without a problem. This was money well spent, I can't express how nice it was coming home from work with everything clean and painted. Great job and I hope to use them in the future. I highly recommend them.

In October, I purchased the Angie's List Big Deal "$399 for 2 painters for the day" with Accurate Painting. I some trepidation when I scheduled the painting, because when I called the number on the voucher, the person who answered the cell phone (apparently Pete Simon; he never introduced himself) said simply "hello". No business name, nothing. I scheduled the painting for 8:30am on Feb 1. Shortly before 9:00am on Feb 1, still waiting, I called the number to see if they were stuck in traffic. No answer. I left a voice mail. I called a few additional times; still no answer. Finally at 9:20am, a sleepy voice answered "hello?" I said "I was expecting two painters at my place at 8:30am. Where are you?". He said that he got sick and forgot. I believe his exact words were "I blew it". Yes, you did, sir. You left me sitting in my condo for nearly an hour with my furniture in the middle of the floor, without the decency to call and cancel. My other concern is that there was no mention made of the second painter. This tells me that he picks up a day laborer en route to the job, which is not acceptable. I will NEVER use Accurate Painting and will be requesting a refund for my Big Deal.

I bought an Angie's list coupon for 8 hours of painting/wall paper work. I was having wall paper removed from a hallway and kitchen, with the wallpaper located above a chair rail and behind the cabinets. It was less than half of each wall surface and often just a 2-2.5 strip above the cabinets. On the date we scheduled service, a laborer and the owner arrived on time. Sadly, they arrived without equipment and I supplied buckets, towels, ladders, stools, and clean up supplies. The owner left shortly after, leaving one man to complete the work. He was respectful and worked very hard, getting all but one wall completed and ready for finish. I phoned the owner towards the end of the day and asked about having the remaining wall completed by the same guy. He agreed to have another worked there for the second morning and after speaking to his worker he estimated that it would be done by mid-day. Day 2, two workers showed up about 1/2 hour late. They got to work, this time bringing their own supplies so I didn't need to provide them. The wallpaper was removed much differently the second day, taking much longer and also starting to cause a great deal of water damage to the wall. I phoned the owner to assess our situation and convey my displeasure at the wall being damaged and the work being done in a different quality. He decided that a steamer was needed, which he didn't provide and asked me to agree to rent for him. I did not agree, but he showed up around 1pm with it anyway, This is where the day takes a turn. The steamer made short work of ruining the wall surface and creating deep cavities beyond the plaster of the wall. We spoke at the end of the day because I was furious at the quality of work and the state that my walls were now left. He indicated that having two workers for a further 8 hours was going to be billed at a rate of $500 plus the charge of the steamer. I asked that he come to see the work the following day and we would arrange payment based on a visual inspection of the walls. He never showed, thus I never paid the bill for the second day, but I am now left with walls that need to be replaced instead of simply resurfaced. Should the owner have come to see the condition his company left I would have been willing to try to salvage the process and work out an amended contract, but he refused. The owner was unprofessional, ill prepared for the job they were contracted for, and of poor quality.

Response from Accurate Painting & Remodeling
On day one we did have equipment for one person to work. I offered to stay and get the worker started for which she was not charged for my time. She then volunteered that she had a step ladder and other equipment that I could use. At the end of the first day, the work was approximately 40% completed and she agreed to have us return and finish on the second day with a second worker. We told her then that the work should be completed mid day. On day two the workers realized the wallpaper had been applied directly over new unprimed drywall on that portion of the room which was going to be much more difficult to remove. The promotion clearly states that wallpaper may come off easily or may come off inch by inch which is what happened on the second day. The workers called me within an hour of starting and I then immediately called the owner. As the work progressed the workers would call me with an update and I would immediately call the owner to keep her informed with the work. I kept explaining the situation to her and the difficulty and she repeatedly told me to keep working. She indicated in her report that she was “furious”. I never sensed any displeasure in the times that I talked to her as I explained the problems with removing wallpaper which she was told at the beginning. I told her it might be useful to rent a steamer and she agreed to having me rent the steamer at her expense. By the end of the day, the wallpaper removal had proved to be a problem but I had kept in touch with her frequently and still never sensed any anger on her part. At the end of the day, the husband was calling me to ask what had gone wrong. He asked when the work “went sideways”. I explained to him the work went “sideways” when our workers realized that the wallpaper was incorrectly applied originally. I had been in touch with his wife throughout the day frequently and she was aware of the problems. She had been told that because of the problems the hourly rate would be discounted but she kept saying to continue because the work had to be completed. I explained to him the same thing that his wife was told, that the wallpaper had been improperly installed and this was the reason why it took longer and why there was damage to the drywall. I told him I would discount the hourly rate and the cost of the steamer which he agreed to pay it. I explained to him what would be involved with repairing the wall so they would be ready to paint. It would take two people approximately one day with a cost of approximately $50.00 in materials and I would charge him $500.00. He offered to pay me $100.00 in addition to the amount that he agreed to pay for work that was already completed. I explained that it was going to cost me more than that and he offered me $200.00 additional to what was already owed and I explained that it would still cost me more than that. He said he couldn’t pay any more and he would find some other way of getting the work done. He told me to send my invoice. That was the last that I spoke to them. There was no appointment scheduled as she alleged. Actually I never even sent my invoice, because they were not satisfied with the work. This review was submitted six months after the work was completed and the member is probably upset because they were “told” that they would have to have someone come in to replace the wall. Based on my professional assessment, the drywall does not have to be replaced but it needs to be repaired. Even the pictures show that the drywall paper was the only thing damaged and can be easily skimcoat plastered. Please look at our responses where we have completed work; this will paint a better picture of our artistry. Thank you for your time.
