Accentric Custom Framing

We had photos taken at Classic Kids framed. Classic Kids was very specific about the materials and quality of work that had to be done for the photos (their prints are NOT cheap.) They do the framing themselves, but at a mark up of about 30%. I took my business elsewhere. I found Accentric on Yelp actually, and called and met with the owner. We had 6 projects framed, and they look great and were significantly less expensive than Classic Kids. It's been 2.5 years and still looking good! Great experience overall, very pleased!

My son ordered a signed print for my husband for Christmas. It arrived to his home in NY with a couple of creases. He tried to get a replacement, but signed ones were no longer available. He sent it to me in Chicago to see if someone here could do something with it so he could give it to his father on Christmas. Yoko was wonderful. She did a wonderful job, considering the condition of the print. She was even able to frame it, all within a few days. My husband was thrilled - I am quite sure it was his favorite gift. I will look forward to working with Yoko again.

We were very pleased with both the experience and the results. We had a fairly clear idea of what we wanted; Yoko was patient and thorough as we worked through the frame and mat options within our (admittedly narrow) criteria, and made several recommendations that were spot on. The prices were fair, and she got the completed work to us in about two weeks plus a few days, just as she projected. The results are beautiful.

Yoko is the best. We have had a number of pieces of different size and widely differing value framed and have been very pleased with all of them. Yoko is easy to work with and has good ideas to offer. We especially like that all of the frame samples are accessible (not behind a counter) for inspection and comparison. Highest quality workmanship.

TERRIFIC!! Ive used Accentric for numerous custom framing jobs for my home. Yoko--the owner--is always professional, helpful, and tasteful in her suggestions. Ive had some less-than-positive experiences with slightly less expensive custom frame shops--but will always go back to Accentric going forward. Yoko has a wide selection of styles and options and has done a wide variety of custom frame jobs for me--and I honestly cant fault her work one bit, regardless of the type of job. Always top-notch. Highest recommendation.

Yoko was outstanding and completely surpassed my expectations! The framing work was beautiful and meticulous, however, the real exceptional part of the experience was the standard of customer service. The painting I took to Yoko had a flyer with details about the artist (here's where it gets interesting) in Japanese. Yoko worked with her mother, to translate the flyer into English and then graphically designed an English version to match the original Japanese! This was all done without additional compensation and is a testament to the type of business she runs. She completely astounded me, by going the extra mile. I had no idea, when I took my projects there, that I would have such an extraordinary experience. I could not say enough about my positive experience with this business! Additionally, she charged very reasonably for alterations to a second frame, which enhanced the beauty and made it more secure.

I've used a few different framing stores in the past with mixed results. For the most part, the service has been adequate but not spectacular. I usually dealt with art students who weren't bad but didn't seem to take any special interest in their work. When I moved to Chicago, I retrieved a lithograph that had been in storage for a couple of years. When I opened the box, it was completely warped from the humidity! I was a little panicked because it was a valuable family heirloom. Upon recommendation, I took it to Accentric Framing in Bucktown. From the moment I entered the shop, I knew I was in good hands. A very pleasant young woman, who described herself as the owner, assured me that she saw situations like mine all the time, and with proper acid free matting, the job would be a breeze. A few days later, I picked up my lithograph, and it was perfect, and the price was very reasonable. THANK YOU ACCENTRIC FRAMING! YOU SAVED ME FROM THE WRATH OF MY MOTHER!
