A & M Remodeling were amazing! Martin was on hand every day of our project, which was huge, three bathrooms completely gutted and redone! All workers were respectful and professional. I could not be happier with my three bathrooms. There are also a few handyman jobs that were completed to help finish off some of our smaller projects. We are looking forward to the future of possibly redoing our kitchen and A & M will be my one and only call.

We have been so impressed with A & M Construction. First there's Martin, as communicative and amiable a guy as we have ever had work on our house. He was able to figure out potential problems in advance and give us excellent options for how to solve them. During the rehab of our basement, he was always responsive to phone calls and emails, discussed ideas comprehensively, and was unfailingly thorough and good-humored throughout. His crew of three were fast, cordial, and did excellent work. They finished up more quickly than we expected and left the place looking gorgeous. We give this company the very highest recommendation.

Martin conveyed personable professionalism, was readily available and accessible to troubleshoot challenges. We felt well informed from the planning stages up to project completion. His team was punctual, methodical, efficient and completed the work with integrity. Martin and his crew did an outstanding job. Both the installers and electrician were professional and very competent. They cleaned up after each workday and disposed of all debris. I am very pleased with their work and attention to detail. Would highly recommend them and will use them again for other projects.

All the work was neatly done. The crew plastered cracks and taped corners. They painted the 2 bedrooms perfectly. The crew was so quiet you hardly knew they were there. Martin and his crew were very polite and patient and respectful. We highly recommend A&M Remodeling and would definitely use them again.

Martin is the best! So honest and professional! His work crew of Clemente and Jose are very skilled and enjoyable to have in my home.

A&M does an absolutely fantastic job. Martin is amazing - he is professional, experienced, and is a great design partner with good taste. I had A&M remove and reinstall a kitchen backsplash as well as a couple other small projects a couple years ago and had them back to retile a shower recently. The work is very high quality. Both projects have come out much better than I ever anticipated, especially because of Martin's help with the details. I cannot recommend A&M enough.

A&M was a pleasure to deal with. They were very punctual, worked long hours, and did a great job.

I had water damaged drywall and some hard to reach peeling walls, Martin was here a few hours after I called to give an estimate, and a few days later Jose did a brilliant job of making everything look as good as new. I will definitely call them next time I need interior work done.

Martin Nevarez, owner of A&M Remodeling was a kind, extremely competent, and responsive contractor in the midst of a crisis. We live in Ohio but we’re in the process of selling our condo in Chicago when the polar vortex with -50 temps hit Chicago. A pipe in the condo above ours burst and dumped tons of water into our condo. A&M was recommended by a Coldwell Banker agent. From the first phone call, Martin immediately went to the condo, assessed the damage. He gave me an assessment of work that needed to be done and the cost. I accepted his assessment and he had the work done in a week!! That allowed us to proceed , as planned with the sale of the condo. The refinished hardwood floor, repair and painting of walls and ceilings was perfect. They cleaned up, not only for their own work, but for the water mitigation team that dried out the condo. I cannot express my gratitude to A&M for the integrity and quality of their work. I wish I could have them work for me in Ohio!

A & M Remodeling did a superb job and provided me with excellent customer service. My parents had their shower remodeled and it was a big job. The shower was completely gutted and a new accessible shower was created. It is beautiful. This job had to be done right the first time. Martin, the owner, kept in touch with me every step of the way by providing me detailed updates. In addition to demoing and remodeling the shower, Martin acted as a consultant and helped me make important decision such as where to place the grab bars and hand-held shower and what type of tile to use on the shower floor in order to provide a safe environment for my family. Martin’s crew was very skilled, very nice and professional. Martin is an extremely caring person. He went over, above and beyond by assembling an accessible bath chair that I had purchased. He even made a special trip back to my parent’s house just to hang the shower rod and shower curtain. I would not hesitate to hire A&M Remodeling again and again and again. They were superb.

I hired Martin and his team to uninstall the glass tile we had in our kitchen and reinstall new tile. They did an awesome job. I was quite impressed with Clemente. He was extremely detail oriented and did a super job with Jose.

Martin is fantastic!! The work was done exactly as promised, on time and on budget. Quality of work is top notch. Many contractors refused to work with me because it involved an insurance claim but Martin willingly worked with my insurance company and provided the extra information that was needed. Great experience! Will definitely work with A&M again.

I've used A&M Remodeling several times and they are always a pleasure to work with. Martin, the owner, is extremely personable and always available. He gives great advice and always responds promptly. All of his employees are helpful and polite. They do great top quality work! Their prices are reasonable. They work quickly but without sacrificing quality. I would highly recommend A&M and will continue to use them on future projects.

Martin is the essence of professionalism, honesty, and trustworthiness. I have worked him for years and have always been so impressed. He is on time and very communicative (something that can be hard to find). We trust his team 100% and often just let them into the house in the morning and go off to work knowing they will respect our house and we will come home to a job well done and a home that looks as though no construction happened at all (no dust, dirt, etc.).

A competitively priced, excellent job for a quirky older house that required on-site problem solving rather than just following a one-way-fits-all approach (as we ran into with another contractor). We were particularly pleased with a detailed walk-through before and after by the owner/lead to well placed and attractive tile cuts by the two-man crew to make the staggered brick pattern work, even in the little-trafficked pantry. The threshholds are perfectly level with the older floors in adjoining rooms. Finishing details and clean up was top notch.

HIRING MARTIN NEVAREZ OF A&M REMODELING WAS A WASTE OF MONEY 1. Substandard Work. I purchased high end glass subway tile from The Tile Shop--one of their best sellers. Nevarez did not know how to properly cut the tile. I am left with noticeable jagged edges (the difference between the factory cut and Nevarez' cut) on every tile which was cut. Nevarez response: There is nothing that can be done. I do not accept this explanation for the following reasons: (a) I had a real tile person look at the tile and I contacted The Tile Shop. Both said the problem was with the blade--the type of blade and how it was used (not tight enough); (b) I have seen glass subway tile which was cut which did not have the jagged edges; (c) I doubt the tile would be a best seller if every person who purchased the tile was left with jagged edges; (d) Nevarez was in the store at the time I purchased the tile and never informed me that I would end up with jagged edges; (e) there were more than two boxes of the tile left over--he did not even try to fix the problem. Additionally, some of the tiles were left with glue on the tile because the tile was not wiped off in a proper manner. NOTE: Nevarez had to know about the jagged edges from the first tile which was cut and never mentioned it to me. Even after I brought it to his attention, he attempted to ignore the situation except that I kept bringing it up. (He did bring up that I received his contractors' discount on the tile. Getting the discount does not excuse shoddy work.) There was no offer to repair the tiles with the noticeable jagged edges and no offer to refund any of the money paid for substandard work. IF NEVAREZ DID NOT KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING, HE SHOULD NOT HAVE ACCEPTED THE WORK. 2. Does Not Pay Attention to Details. (a) At the end of the third week of work, Nevarez called me at my job and said the Studio 41 order was missing certain items. Nevarez picked up the order three weeks earlier before starting the work and stored it in my basement. Nevarez, his workers, and the plumber retained by Nevarez were the only ones who had access to the items. I contacted Studio 41 and they began a search. I came to my home and immediately see the items Nevarez claimed were not in the Studio 41 order; (b) I had a conversation with Nevarez about placement of a bath caddy, which was part of the Studio 41 order, wherein he told me he knew exactly where the caddy should be placed. The caddy could not be installed because before putting up the tile, Nevarez did not account for framing; (c) On the very first day of work, Nevarez did demolition, as the bathroom was being gutted. I did not stay at my home during the work. When I came to my home at the end of the week, I immediately noticed damage to the wall which separates the bathroom from another room in the home. The wall and the specialty paint job on the other side were cracked. The best Nevarez could do was plaster and prime the damaged area, as he did not know how to do a specialty paint job, so I am left with a white wall. My problem is that he was not aware of the damage caused; (d) I could not take a bath because the stopper was not properly installed and the toilet leaked because of a crack in the wax seal and one of the tiles was chipped. It seems this should have been checked out before telling me all of the work was complete; (e) in an email to Nevarez before the work was started, I asked that he save the existing shower head as it was not very old. That did not happen. 3. Insulting Communication Style. (a) Nevarez came to my home to receive a second payment. I immediately noticed on his invoice that I was double charged $1,500.00 for the plumber, which I pointed out to Nevarez. Nevarez repeatedly stated to me that I did not understand accounting, until he realized the charge appeared twice. If it was an honest mistake, fine. Until he realized his error, tough, he talked to me as if I were a child, unable to understand "accounting"; (b) there was also a comment made to me by Nevarez about me having lived a pampered life. Nevarez knew nothing about my life. I did not stay in my home during the work. On what was supposed to be the last day of work, I came to the home because Nevarez wanted final payment, assuring me that he stood by his work. The check cleared my account within two hours. It was after his workers left for the day that I noticed the problem with the tile. He did not stand by his work. Everyday while in the shower, I see his shoddy work. I am very angry at the substandard work and I am very angry about his dismissive attitude toward me. I waited more than two months before writing this post to see if my thoughts about Nevarez' work would change--they have not.

Great! Martin and his team were professional, clean and fast! They worked hard every day and got the project done from demo to finishing touches in 3 weeks! Martin takes care and pride in his work and wants to make sure that every detail is done right and to your satisfaction.

Martin is outstanding! He is responsive, a perfectionist and truly cares about providing excellent customer service. Martin was on site each day. He and his crew arrived on time and the work was done to perfection and the site was left spotless. Martin even created a handcrafted tile edge from oak which was a work of art and far exceeds any hardware store edging out there. We couldn't be more pleased and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a job to be done to the highest standards.

Very professional and prompt. Plan on hiring them again to paint the remaining rooms. Took care of some additional wall patching at no additional cost. Worked around my travel schedule and finished the job quicker than was initially told.

Great. We liked picking out and purchasing the materials ourselves (after consultation with Martin) rather than going through a larger general contractor's pre-selected vendors. The project was finished very close to the originally estimated schedule, and Martin worked with us to keep us on or close to budget. The price was very reasonable and we are really happy with the results. We would definitely plan to use A&M again.

If I could rate this company high than an A I would. Martin is a very honest and up front professional. He was upfront with timeline and cost. He even talked himself out of one of the tasks I had! I was thinking about restoring a wall that is currently a French door but once he saw the workmanship he recommended not removing it- although it was my choice (I decided not to). Once the work began Martin showed up to get his crew started. He called most evenings to see how I thought the job was going. His crew of two was courteous and professional. They worked hard. The job was completed within 4 days. I couldn't believe it!
