Our confirmed arrival time was between 8:00 and 8:30am, the movers arrived arrived at almost 3:00pm. The actual move itself was steady and perfunctory although the movers seemed to load everything in the truck in a big pile while placing sharp objects with jagged edges such as a bicycle on top of easily damaged and delicate items such as my white leather couch. The biggest offense was the "bait and switch" tactic used by the company. Despite an agreement to use credit and giving them my card information, I was told at the very end of the move and only then as my furniture still on the truck that they'd only accept cash. I was informed my items would be kept unless I provided cash immediately. The movers literally shut the doors on the truck, blocked my car with the moving van and told me to walk to an ATM to get the cash or they would not finish the job. Had a previous arrangement been made, I would have paid the fee in cash and tipped accordingly. However as the movers were late, ran over the estimated time and were holding my furniture ransom, my options were few except to comply with their extortionary demands.
Description of Work: AZ Moving performed a small and short move in the summer of 2012. The movers were to move a 800 sq foot one bedroom apartment with the heaviest item being a queen size mattress into a multilevel home. The distance was 3.2 miles, there was plenty of private parking in both places, exclusive use of an elevator in the apartment and all of the items were securely and well-packed.
