A to Z did an EXCELLENT job! They arrived at our house thirty minutes early and immediately got to work. The project took longer than anticipated, however Robert and Frank (A to Z employees) wouldn't leave until the job was done, and done right. The following day, we realized that one breaker was not operating correctly. They returned and addressed the issue in fifteen minutes. Without a doubt, if we ever need additional electrical work done at our home, we will be calling A to Z.
Description of Work: We needed indoor electrical repairs and a new circuit breaker box installed. After contacting several companies, we elected to work with A to Z Electrical Services because they were professional, polite, reasonably priced, and responded in a timely manner.

Everything went well. Plaster damage was kept to a minimum with the kitchen cabinets being covered from dust while they worked in the kitchen. Little or no patch work was required from my Wife or I. The trench to the garage was dirty work while it was going on and cleaned up at the end. The A to Z workers later returned to replace the outside security light which did not function properly. The A to Z workers were respectful of the house and us. They did their work skillfully and cleaned up the work area. I will also add that A to Z provided a free estimate, were on time or called if there was any time problem and our credit card was accepted without any added credit card use charge. We would recommend A to Z Electric to our friends and would use them again.
Description of Work: Track lighting was converted to recessed lights. Added fan in kitchen with fan speed control. Repaired and replaced outside security light. Repaired and replaced electric service to garage which included installing a new shut-off switch for the garage and removing unwanted electric outlet. This included digging a trench from the house to the garage.

The team(s) from A to Z are competent, highly skilled and did a first rate job from start to finish. They made suggestions that were well thought out. They came on time and cleaned up in a first rate manner. Bob, Rob, Frank and Barry are all the kind of professionals you want in your home when you have electrical issues. Highly Recommended!
Description of Work: I had A to Z put in an outlet in the sunroom where none had existed. Install an outlet above my mantel so I could install my TV on my wall without any wires showing. Change two switches to dimmers and hang a very complicated high tech dinning room fixture that was a challenge.

It went very smoothly. We have been looking for somebody for several years who can come in and do this kind of repair. They came back quickly to do the repairs. They had all the parts that were needed. The estimate was fair. Everything works perfectly. Very professional and very efficient and knowledgeable.

I called A to Z Electric to get an appointment for electrical repair work. I called approximately Sept. 3. They gave me an appointment for 9/9 for a free estimate I was told. On 9/9, I received a call from A to Z needing to reschedule. My next appointment was for 9/11. On the morning of 9/11, A to Z called and said they could give me a quote for my work by phone, sight unseen. I was quoted $150 for the first half-hour and then $80 for each half hour thereafter. All I needed done was to have an outdoor electrical outlet, installed about 3 years ago repaired and an outdoor light repaired. So, that phone call from A to Z really cancelled my appointment for "a free estimate". That call also gave me a price for the work that I felt was high. Without a "free estimate," I have no way of knowing what the problem consists of or approximately how long it might take to fix! I don't think the job is very extensive or that it will take too long to fix, but I don't know. A to Z advertises no job is too big or too small for them. Well, I don't understand why after two appointments they made with me and then cancelled, they would call me and give me an estimate over the phone. That should have been done when I first called them and explained the work I needed done! I wasted about 10 days waiting for them to come out ang give me an estimate on my job. No I would not recommend A to Z Electric nor will I ever call them again.

A to Z responded promptly to my contact through Angie's List and scheduled an appt right away for an estimate. The free estimate was not a true estimate. No attempt was made to identify the problem. I was just quoted the rates for each half hour. However, once I agreed to the rates, the electricians were called and came that afternoon. Another electrician had come for an estimate the previous day and was not able to find the problem. A to Z found the problem. There was only one good neutral for the entire apartment and there should be three. However, they were not able to access the electrical box because it was covered by furnace ducts. They temporarily repaired the problem to get the electricity back on but warned me that it could go back out at any time. The cost of the work that day was $466 which included the 10% discount for Angie's List members. I was informed that the permanent repair would cost another $1,800. I felt that the price was high but wanted the job completed as soon as possible. I arranged to have a furnace repair person remove the ducts on 1/15/15 and A to Z completed the work on a timely basis so we could turn the heat back on since it was winter. Everyone I had contact with from A to Z were responsive and professional. The work was explained to me before and while it was being done. Other electrical work that needs to be done was also discussed. I requested and received an estimate for future work and would definitely consider using A to Z.
Description of Work: Electricity to kitchen, bedroom and 1 bathroom in apartment was out. Outlet in basement was not working. On 1/6/15, temporarily repaired 2nd floor short and repaired basement outlet. Returned 1/15/15 and completed repair by pulling up new wiring to the main home run electrical box.

Barry came out- he called first to see whether he could come earlier than the appointment time. It turned out our problem was due to a tripped breaker that we apparently failed to check when we tried all the breakers- but now we know what to do if this ever occurs again. Nice guy. When we are ready to proceed with other electrical work we want to have done, we will definitely call A to Z.

He was the only one that I got contact with right away, the rest of them called me later on throughout the day but since he called, I took him right away. He was very good. He came when he said he was going to come. It was an emergency service so he was here in an hour and a half which I thought was great deal and others didn’t even call me back within an hour and a half. I would highly recommend him. I thought he was fair, his price was good. He gave me ten percent discount from Angie’s List. He was professional, he was friendly and he was nice. He worked the whole time he was there. I guess he finished under an hour.
Description of Work: We had a light bulb that burned out the night before in the hallway of the lobby and when someone went to change it, it popped and blew quite a few other elements including our front doorbell buzzer, that’s why it was an emergency because no one could get in the front door. He fixed that, it is an old fixture; the building is a hundred years old. One of the wires had just burned out because it was old, that was all, so he re-insulated the wires in the lamp, not the whole system. Then he checked the fuse box because he tried to see if it was tripping the switch and two of those were loose so he replaced those.

By far the poorest customer service over the phone. The "lady" that answered the phone answered so quick, I didn't even hear the hello. Asked her some basic criteria questions about the staff and their insurablility, she got put off, told me she wasn't taking any projects and hung up on me. A company to have someone like that to answer their phone will definitely not stay in business for long time, at least one would hope. I truly hope this company takes an effort to reconsider the employment of such an unprofessional individual. I will definitely not be referring this company to any of the 8 investment groups that I coordinate with, nor will I ever consider using this company.

A to Z was extremely easy to get into contact with. Other companies didn't get back to me, even though I left messages. I wanted to get a ceiling fan installed in our 2nd bedroom (there was no existing electrical in the 2nd bedroom) and put in pendant lights in the kitchen. I was moving, so we wanted to spruce the place up a bit. A to Z sent Barry to our condo a couple days after my call. Barry was super nice and asked what needed to be done. He was extremely honest and said that he thought it wasn't necessary to put up pendant lights in the kitchen; it already looked good w/ recessed lighting. After he said this, I knew it was a good company. Instead of doing the job and getting more money, he was being honest and made a great suggestion. So I decided not to go w/ the pendant lights, just the ceiling fan. Barry quoted me $500 to install the electrical and the ceiling fan. The gentleman who came to install the ceiling fan was there to do his job. He was quick and efficient. I even asked him to check out an outlet that blew the night before. While working he noticed that there were no support beams to hold the ceiling fan...just dry wall. He informed me of this and said he couldn't install the ceiling fan unless he came back to input support beams which would mean more construction and quite a bit of money. Instead he suggested that we just put a light fixture in because it wouldn't weigh as much as the ceiling fan. I would have to go get a new light fixture while he worked on installing the electrical. At the time my baby was only 1 month old, so it was very hard for me to go to Home Depot to get a light fixture. He offered to get the light fixture for me but I went with the baby anyway. I was happy he offered. So he installed the light fixture in 10 min when I got back; he also installed a new outlet in 2 min. When all was said and done, it cost $450 because he couldn't install the ceiling fan (he didn't have to assemble it). I was very pleased with A to Z and will definitely use them again. They're honest and hard working and that's all I can ask for in an electric company.

A to Z was wonderful, from the estimator's visit, through the re-wiring. We were so tired of circuits popping and electrical outlets not working. Now we have a new electrical box, there's power in the garage, and the process went quickly and with a minimum of mess. We added a couple of minor changes (installing a new fan) and they were happy to do it. I liked the fact it was a family-run business, and that that people that came out worked for A to Z, not a sub contractor. Thank you!
