They basically came out and explained that it's based on how much of the truck they fill and they filled like a whole truck, so what they said it would be if they filled the whole truck. When they first came out he looked and he was like, "I think we will fill three quarters of the truck, which would be this price," and maybe 15 minutes after they started he came back to me and said, "Well, I think we're going to fill the truck, which would be this price. Do you want us to continue?" I'm like, "Yeah." There were two guys and they had to clear out a full garage full of stuff. They were just really amazingly fast and efficient. They were right on time.

I scheduled the appointment for Friday between 4 - 6 and would get a call prior to 4pm letting me know estimated arrival time. At 5pm, I received a call from the driver who was very apologetic, but was running late, and would be there by 7. I was fine with that. At 7:30, I received a second call from the driver telling me they wouldn't be there, and proceeded to give me a 10-minute song and dance about why. He offered to come Saturday or to have me talk with the manager. The manager called at about 8:30, and told me they could come that night, but but the earliest they could get to my home would be between 9 - 9:30pm - if they could make it at all. He did offer to come on Saturday but couldn't guarantee a time... so after waiting ALL evening Friday, he expected me to hang around the house and cancel my three Saturday events on the off-chance they would maybe show up at some time during the day. The manager was not polite, offered no apology for the abysmal service, and offered no compensation for my time if I decided to use their service. I wasted more than four hours of my life on these people. No more. There are TONS more service providers - any one of them would be better.

I couldn't have been happier

Two people came out and did the job. They were on time, fast and very courteous. Two of the items were very large and heavy. they claim that usable material will be given to those in need.

Not using such an expensive service.

Two guys arrived promptly after alerting me that they were on their way. They first gave me an estimate, which they ended up raising by $50 when they realized how many heavy bolts of carpet they would have to move. I think this was fair. I had pre-sorted my stuff into garbage, things to be donated, and things to recycle, but actually, that wasn't necessary. They lumped everything together and threw it (literally, in some cases) into their truck. They were friendly and efficient. However, they did damage to some molding by hitting it with a piece of furniture that they were taking out to their truck. To compensate, they took $25 off my bill. They did a very cursory clean-up, so I had to vacuum and wash the basement steps after they left. The best part of this service is that they will take almost anything (although not paint or certain chemicals). It saved me hours of physical labor, which I cannot do because I have health problems. Also, it's nice that they donate and recycle, which I would have done, had I been able. This service is expensive, but I decided it was worth using it to save time and stress on my body. I would use it again in the future-- but don't expect perfection.

I just pointed them to where the junk was and they loaded it all and they even sweep up a little. What I like about them is the price and their ability to come out within a couple of days. They are just really nice people when they come.

So I made appointment for them to come between 5 - 7 today. They were supposed to call me 30 minutes before 5 but they never did. I waited until 6 and decided to call the customer service. 1. First call at 6 - the lady on the phone informed me that the crew would call me very soon. 2. 30 minutes later I still haven't received a call - I called the customer service back. The guy (a different person) on the phone informed me that somehow the crew thought I would contact them (Huh, why would I do that - I was never given their phone number and they are the one who had my phone number all along). That being said, he said the crew would contact me shortly. 3. Another 10 minutes later, they finally called me and the guy on the phone (Joseph) claimed that he tried to call me multiple times and when he tried to leave a voicemail, my VM box was full. Lie, and lie. I never had any missed call from him this afternoon. And while I was on the phone with the customer service earlier, I missed a call from an analyst from work and he was able to leave a voicemail on my phone. And he proceeded to tell me that he couldn't make it because he sent all his people back home. From beginning to end, he made it seem like it was all me - my phone didn't work, I should have called me, etc.

They showed up on time (calling ahead to let me know exactly when they would be there). They took almost everything I needed to get rid of, but ran out of room on the truck for a dresser and one or two items. Very professional and I would use them again.

I called 1-800-junk and scheduled the storage unit estimate. We were unable to access the unit for an estimate due to a lost key so they gave the rates and we agreed on a service date for which they would give the estimate on that day. The guys were very good at keeping me informed of their arrival time. On arrival they were pleasant and explained the fee schedule. They emptied the unit and hauled the contents away. They also explained that the contents are sorted then either donated or recycled.

1-800-GOT-JUNK? were extremely thorough and we were happy with the work they did.

I decided at about 7:30p on a Tuesday that I needed to finally get some junk removed from my basement. I made the appointment online and by 11:30a the next day, the job was done. 1-800-GOT-JUNK called to let me know that they would arrive on the early side of the 11a-1p window I had chosen, and the team in fact arrived about 10 minutes early. The team of two was absolutely professional, friendly, and quick as a wink. They explained the range of prices, and based on their ability to organize the junk into the smallest possible footprint on their truck, my cost came in at the low end. My junk included old electronics, including two old TVs, each of which cost me a surcharge of $6.00. They also took an old tire, for a surcharge of $8.00. The price of services may seem high, but they commit to recycling everything they can, so that was worth it to me. I heartily recommend 1-800-GOT-JUNK.

The service was very good. They called 30 minutes before they arrived. I was able to schedule the service for a Sunday morning with was great. They arrived on time, gave me an estimate and were done in 20 minutes.

I was very pleased and impressed with the workers who appeared -- right on time -- at my home. They covered their feet when they were in the house and removed everything quickly and efficiently. Outdoors they moved even quicker to clear out the area I had designated and everything was picked up in place -- I didn't have to have anything moved to make it more accessible. Overall I was very happy -- they left me with a refrigerator magnet and coupon for future services. I know that I will use them again.

Originally scheduled to come at 2 pm, finally arrived at 5 pm after two postponements. I had arranged service through the and quot;1-800-GOTJUNKand quot; national line. I told the dispatcher that I had lots of empty cardboard boxes and was assured that the crew would and quot;break downand quot; the boxes to maximize the amount that could be loaded in the truck. The crew did NOT do this, but simply tossed the boxes into the truck bed. As a result, they could not remove all the and quot;stuffand quot; I had staged on my garage floor and I did not get fair value for what was removed vs. cost of removal. I will NOT deal with this firm again.

Most important -- they were very careful when they removed the bookcases. They called, arrived on time and were very efficient.

Called them at their 800 number and scheduled someone to come out that day. I was given a two hour window between 2-4pm. I got a call saying they were running a little behind and would be there around 3:30pm. I then got a second call saying they would be by around 4:30pm; then a third call saying they would be swinging by around 5:30pm. At that point, I told them that they wouldn't be able to haul because I live in a condo and that locking down one of the elevators when people are returning home from work would be a problem. However I asked that they come by to at least give me a quote, which they did. Their rate was twice as much as the quote I got from a local hauling service. I had bags of sheetrock debris in the pile and was told that they charge a separate rate for plaster debris - for whatever reason. Overall they were way overpriced and not very punctual. However all of the people that I dealt with were very pleasant and professional.

They did an excellent job and their price was very reasonable.

They were on time and extremely nice. I have a basement that needs cleaning out this spring and I plan on calling them.

Their service was very great. Tony and crew went above and beyond to get the job done in one day. I have used them in the past as well and the service has always been good.

Short, sweet gone in 15 minutes

The number listed on Angie’s Lists was a disconnected phone. So, I called the 1-800 number, ‘1-800-got-junk’. After a few recordings, a live representative answered. The person who answered the phone was part of a call center. She was very professional with a slight English accent. I asked whether they would remove items from a basement and separate the hauled items so that some of the items could be donated to a local charity. She indicated that they would be happy to do that and that they do a lot of basement clean outs. She asked about what types of items did I have that would be removed. I indicated that I have furniture, books, clothes, boxes, bicycles, etc. She cheerfully responded that said those items were fine and the company could certainly help me with them. She asked for my zip code to make sure that they serviced my area. I give her the zip code for my Senior Mother’s home in Gary, Indiana. She said that she regretted to tell me that they do not service our area, yet, because they have not secured the insurance for that service area. She apologized profusely and said that they hope to get insurance soon. She said that sometimes they can service parts of a neighborhood and not another and it is frustrating to have to tell a customer that they don’t service their area. She suggested that I try going into Google and searching for ‘local junk removal and hauling’ to get a local service. WHY AM I PAYING FOR ANGIE’S LIST?!?!!??!? Why is this company listed on Angie's List as providing service to Northwest Indiana in the search results?!?!? I live in Illinois, but often hire people to work on my Senior Mother's house in Gary. If your business indicates it will service NWI and doesn't service Gary, Indiana, then be prepared to have a VERY poor review. F - LOUSY SERVICE!!!!

This is probably the first tiime I hired a national franchise company and the service provided actually lived up to the promises in the ads I had heard. I called the 800 number to schedule a pick up for the TV and I got an appointment for the next day during the tiime slot I preferred 8-10 am. I had expected to have to wait a week or more for an appointment. I was told I would get a call before 8 am the next daay to let me know when, in the two hour, window they would arrive. The pricing system was explained by the person making the appointment including the minimum fee. I was told I would get an exact price when the the young men arrived in the morning. I was also told that if I did not like the price, I could cancel the work and I would not be charged not even a few for them to show up. The next morning, I got the promised called just before 8 am to tell me when, during the the two hour time slot they would show up. They said about 9 am. They arrived at 8:56 am. Compared to all the times I have waited for some repair person to show up, who then arrived at the last minute or not at all, this was outstanding! The two young men were in uniform, neatly dressed, polite, and professional as promised. They did introduce themselves but I am bad with remembering names, It looks like the names on the receipt are Matt and Clint. The address of this franchise is a PO box in Frankfort, Illinois (local phone 815-469-5581) I am only mentioning the local address because I want the two young men to be acknowledged for thier excellent job. I was concerned they might have difficulty moving the TV because the last time I moved, the movers had some difficulty and almost dropped it but the two young moved it without any problems and did not have to bring any equipment into my house to help. The entire process took less than 10 minutes. They did not complain or even comment that they had to park the truck two doors down because all the spaces near my home were filled by the people putting a new roof on my house. The price is based on how much space your stuff takes up in the truck but there is the minimum fee which is $112. They have a sheet to let you know what the cost will be based on the percentage of the truck your items will require. I did not look at the rate sheet in detail because I only had the one item. This would be a great value if you have a lot of stuff to dispose of as the cost for the entire truck is $500-$600. In addition, they would remove your stuff from where ever it is, even up and down basement or attic stairs. I wish I had known about this service when I had to clean out my parents home after they died. I understand the need for a minimum fee and was willing to pay it because they do recycle. However when you only have one item, it is a bit pricey. If you have a place to hold stuff untill you have a bigger load, it would be more cost effective. I vacillated about my rating for the price but eventually decided on an A because the service was worth the cost.

The two young men showed up right on time. They were very polite and friendly. They asked me where I wanted them to start, I pointed to a couple things that needed to be kept and told them to take everything else. We went through the basement in sections like that. It was an extremely hot day and these guys were hustling up and down the stairs for a few hours. They packed the truck full, leaving no space, took it away, came back with another truck and did it again. And then they swept up the place when they were done. They were amazing and worth every penny to me. They cleaned out the basement in a matter of hours and it would have taken me months and months. I would recommend them to everyone, a great experience.

Very easy set up online (with a booking discount) and guys came out and gave a quote onsite. Accepted it right away to get the stuff out of there, and they start hauling it away in the truck. Quote was right on the final price ... paid them, and I had a clean backyard. What more could you want. Very professional and efficient. Could not ask for more.
