He work is sloppy, he was gone more that he was there working, when he tore up the old concrete on the driveway, patio, and front porch, he tore the heck out of our siding, on 3 sides of our house. The concrete has noticeable waves, that you can see with the naked eye!
Description of Work: redid our driveway, patio, and front porch.

On January 2, 2013 Jerry Clark visited our residence to review a contract he had submitted on December 22, 2012. During this visit Mr. Clark stated the project of finishing the basement would take four weeks to complete. He stated he was eager to start right away because he had some bigger projects to start at the end of the month and wanted to keep his cash flow going. He also stated his work hours would be 8am-4pm, sometimes later for projects such as mudding etc. (per text message). The contract was executed on January 2, 2013. The first payment was made on January 3, 2013 and Jerry and his crew began working on the project January 4, 2013. After about a week of questionable to no work completed, we contacted Jerry to ask the status of the project. On February 8, 2013 Mr. Clark sent a text message stating he should be completed in ten-fourteen days. From February 8 ? March 4, 2013 Jerry worked at most 8 days (as you can see in the attached spreadsheet*, it appeared that on some days he was here little to no work was performed). As of March 4, 2013 several items on the contract had not been completed and/or were missing which included: 1 smoke alarm, 2 fans, (6) 6-panel hollow core doors, toilet, 30? vanity, sink faucet, shower faucet, tile floor, stand up shower, base trim in bathroom, base trim throughout basement, basement windows finished, ceiling not painted, basement not fully painted, stairs not completed, and stairwell on the second floor not painted. In addition to the items Jerry failed to provide/complete per the contract, there were additional issues throughout the project where Jerry and his crew attempted to cut corners to save money. On January 16, 2013 Mr. Clark attempted to hang drywall without placing insulation behind it, which was a breach of what was established in the written contact. After inspecting that day?s work, we contacted Jerry regarding the insulation. On January 23, 2013 Mr. Clark claimed to have taken the drywall down and insulated the exterior walls, which cannot be verified. Furthermore, on January 29, 2013 we noticed that some water was coming into the basement bathroom area after a rain storm. Mr. Clark said he would look at the problem and believed it was coming from an area where he had cut into the side of the house to install an exhaust fan. The water was again noticeable on February 26, 2013. In addition, after returning to work after several no shows, Jerry began painting the drywall before completely finishing the mudding/sanding. We sent Mr. Clark a text letting him know the walls were unacceptable. He said he knew there were spots that needed to be corrected, and per our request, stopped by on February 23, 2013 to make sure all parties were on the same page. Mr. Clark resumed work on February 25, 2013. The next day, and all days following until termination, Mr. Clark was a no show. We finally terminated Mr. Clark via text message March 4, 2013, and by certified mail sent by our attorney March 8, 2013. We hired another crew to finish the job. They noticed several mistakes that would be "obvious" to a normal contractor. Some examples include: the plumbing was installed incorrectly which caused major leaking, and boards touching the concrete are not treated which is a code violation. The total cost to complete and repair the work was $7,591.21. A breakdown and copies of cleared checks and receipts is attached*. *This is a detailed explanation we also submitted to the Illinois Attorney General's Office. You can request a copy of all claims filed against Jerry. We found this out about half-way through the project and request copies (if any). We received a fairly thick envelope of complaints!
Description of Work: Jerry was to fully finish our basement, from wall studs to drywall and painting. The basement was to be all open, with closets around the sump pits, under the stairs, around the hot water heater/furnace, and radon mitigation pipe. A bathroom was the only room to be built. Jerry and his crew framed the basement and ran the electrical quickly and to our satisfaction. However, after this he asked for his second payment, and after receiving that money the work slowed and eventually stopped until we had to terminate Jerry and bring another contractor in to finish the job.
