REYNOLDS CONCRETE & EXCAVATING

It went wonderful until the the concrete dried and I have little holes all over two sections from I believe not getting the air pockets out. I have called Don Reynolds many times and left many messages and no one has gotten back to me. I wish he would just contact me so we could discuss the problem.

Did the work on time, as scheduled, and within the estimated cost. The work he did looks excellent. He work quickly to fit us into his schedule because it was the end of the season and very cold weather was approaching which would've made it not possible to pour concrete.

.The new patio looks great, and many of my neighbors have complimented it. The work took a little longer than expected, but that was due to the heavy amounts of rain that we had while the project was going on. Mr. Reynolds took extra care to make sure that the grass in our backyard was not damaged by removal of large amounts of concrete that had to be hauled across the yard.

Very well. I appreciated Don's feedback on driveway design (I expanded to add a parking pad). It was basically done on a handshake which I'm okay with, but you may want to ask for particulars in writing if you prefer. He was responsive and got to the job quickly and before some events we had planned that we wanted the driveway ready for. Driveway is doing well - much nicer to shovel! We'll have to see how well it holds up in the next 10-20 years.

work was completed over five day period, working a few hours each day as he indicated he would do. Project was well done. we are pleased with the result. job site was left clean and neat. we would call on him again if needed and would recommend him to others.

Mr. Reynolds came quickly after being contacted. He looked at the areas needing to be replaced and provided an estimate which was agreed upon. Installation was quick and outcome looked great. However, within a year cracks developed in several areas of the driveway and sidewalk. Numerous phone messages were left on his answering machine. He only responded to one. At that time appointment times were set to come discuss the problems . He did not keep any of those appointments. He has not responded to either a mailed letter nor a certified letter requesting he contact us about this matter. In the certified letter he was informed that unless he responded to that letter this review would be posted. Cracks continue to grow. We CANNOT give his work a positive recommendation.

The project went very well. It took a few extra days as we had to work around the weather. There were also parking restrictions on a busy street. Don Reynolds was careful to keep an eye on the weather conditions. He was also very patient with the parking situation. It was no small task to park trucks and equipment on a busy street. Don was there for every part of the project and was willing to work with me on small adjustments.

I called Don and he called back within 24 hours and came to look at my situation within 2 days. He was easy to talk to, personable, informative, and willing to explain things to someone who hadn't dealt with concrete before. I wanted concrete with bluestone flagstones embedded in it for the patio and the area by the backdoor. What I wanted was pretty fancy for concrete work it turns out, and he is a small operation so he spent a while trying to figure out what he could do to meet my objective. I modified my original design to make it less fancy - basically I would get the flagstones cut to squares that he could then frame out space and drop in after the concrete dried. He gave me an estimate very promptly - a few days. I was very pleased with the price, especially compared to the bids I received for pavers! I ended up choosing someone else because I changed my mind on what I wanted done, and it was no longer suitable to do in concrete. But I will be calling him back when I have my driveway done in the next year or so.

The contractor appears to be pretty much a small operation, owner-operated. Thus, some of the early interactions of estimates and related meetings had to be scheduled around the whims of his other jobs and the weather. For this most part, this was simply some delayed responses to my initial calls asking for estimates. This is why the only non-perfect score I gave was for "responsiveness". At first this had me worried that the job may get drawn out, but this was not the case - once the job was started, progress was fast and completion was quick. The results exceeded my expectations. The cost-to-quality ratio seemed excellent as well.

I had called other concrete services and had gotten a couple estimates that were high and the other contractors hadn't returned my call. I left a voicemail for Don and he responded and came to our home that same day to take measurements. His estimate was so reasonable that we immediately hired him. Don tore out the existing patio and poured a new one that was larger than the old one. He also provided us with color swatches when we requested that the concrete be tinted. The only issues that prevented him from completing the job in the time period he had anticipated was the weather, an angry wasp attacking him :-), and his inability to get concrete, all of these which were beyond his control. We are very satisfied with the new patio and would definitely hire him again.
