Mike Williams false advertising. No Service. It is unfortunate they do not have minus stars. I honestly do not understand how they can be in business. Sold and installed (a shabby job) $13,000 furnace and A/C it worked for a about a month. Brought the baby home from the hospital furnace did not work. Goof they sent over said it was set op for a heat pump and never started properly. He claimed all was OK. Three weeks later no heat. 3 week old baby, 1 year old toddler, it's currently 28 degrees out side and under 60 degrees inside. Called for service. They claim they have 24 hour service. Said they would call at 7 in the morning the next day. Their add in the phone book says 100% Guarantee or your money back. Mike Williams (probably a fake name, no one would put their real name on a sham like this) come get your junk furnace, your no service, give my money back so I can go to a real HVAC company and get a job done properly and 24 hour service. Stick to what you might know best the wax ring at a toilet bowl.

We have had Brandon 4 times for routine maintenance. All 4 times he has showed professionalism and outstanding knowledge. He does not seemed bothered at all when asked to do or look at items of concern. He does not try to sell you on things you do not need. Overall an outstanding job.

It went very well. Brennan was friendly, professional and competent. The price is very reasonable. I've decided they are my new "go--to" guys for all things related to heating-cooling, etc. I am walking away from my previous service company because they did not stand behind the equipment they sold me.

If there was a "zero" star option I would have chosen that! This company is a poor example of customer service. I'm a fairly new customer to them. I had them come out to inspect my furnance in early October and at that time I signed up for their $99/year safety inspection. During that visit I received good service with them. Well tonight my furnace stopped working and I called the emergency after hours number on their website. The gentleman who answered was nice and took my information, quoted me $149.95 emergency after hours fee, and promised to have the on call technician call me back. Well over and hour later I still had yet to hear from the on call technician. I called yet again the emergency after hours number and spoke with a nice woman who again took down my information and promised to have an on call technician call me. Well about five minutes later a different woman called me back. She said she actually worked for Mike Williams and said that because this after hours emergency was after 10 pm it was going to be $220.95!!!! I tried to explain to this woman that I called the emergency after hours number over an hour ago and was waiting for the on call technician to call me back plus that wasn't the price that I was quoted by their after hours emergency representative. She then proceeded to tell me that the after hours representatives did not work for Mike Williams SHE DID!! She also proceeded to tell me that I would have to give her a valid credit card number up front before she would even call the on call technician who was in bed sleeping like she was! This Mike Williams employee was VERY RUDE and inconsiderate to a new customer. I'm quite disappointed by this company, their employee, and their service! I will never use Mike Williams again, nor will I refer any of my friends or family to them!!!
Description of Work: My furnace was without heat and my house was an ice box. I needed an emergency after hours technician to come out and take a look at it.

I had an open appointment for Thursday, 09/29/2016. When the dispatcher told me that the techs were available, I told her that I would be at the property in 20 minutes to meet the techs. Imagine my shock and surprise when I arrived 20 minutes later to see an empty Mike Williams truck parked in front of the house, which is a two-flat. Only the downstairs apartment is occupied. Instead of waiting for me to arrive and give them access to the property, they knocked on the door and my uninformed renter let them in. By the time I arrived, the two techs were in the basement unattended. I was furious. Then one of the techs told me that the furnace was fine, but that he was concerned about my hot water heater and then tried to sell me a hot water heater plan for $8.95/mo. He said that this would be a good way for me to get a new hot water heater worth $1,400 because if Mike Williams couldn't fix any problem with the old hot water heater, they'd just replace it with a new hot water heater if I signed up for their plan. Yeah, right. First of all, they were supposed to be there just to service the furnace, not to try to sell me a new hot water heater or monthly service plan. They didn't even offer to replace the filter in the furnace until I asked them. The one guy said, "Well, we didn't see any filters down here to use as a replacement." Hello? Isn't that part of your "preventative maintenance to save money by maximizing efficiency and minimizing costly breakdowns"? I don't know what these guys actually did while they were in the basement unattended today, but my renter just called me a few hours ago to say that the thermostat doesn't seem to be working. His apartment is cold. Mike Williams didn't even look at the thermostat today as part of their so-called inspection, so now I have to call these guys back tomorrow and deal with them yet again. Lesson learned the hard way - stick with an established company that has a solid, long-term reputation in the community. Needless to say, Mike Williams is not one of those companies.
Description of Work: I received a coupon in the mail from Mike Williams and called the company to schedule a furnace safety inspection for the furnace located in the basement of one of my rental properties. This furnace, by the way, was installed by Mike Williams four years ago, at this exact address, at a cost of $6,374.00. I had a mediocre experience with them back then, but I thought surely their customer service must have improved. Boy, what a mistake. Run fast and run far away from these guys.

Service is fast, punctual and work well done. Price is highly excessive and always trying to sell contracts and upgrades to existing systems at high prices.
Description of Work: 1st service to repair a/c. Service was great but price of $250 for replacing part that discovered cost $27 and takes 20 minutes max to replace. 2nd service find leak in toilet and repair. Tried to suggest I buy $187 hose that I can buy at Rural King for $15. Total charge for trip and replacement of hose was $315. 3rd and last straw, charged $357 to fix stopped up kitchen sink and replace J trap. Finally, each trip includes"inspections" that always recommend high price replacements for "aging equipment" . A hustle!

Tech came in...looked at problem....stated he didn't have machine needed to perform work. Informed me I needed to make an appt. with another technician to discuss pricier alternatives. Tech was at my home for approx. 20 minutes and charged me $99.95 for house call with no work performed. Called business number later in day to complain and after lengthy conversation had to negotiate a resolution to problem. Totally dissatisfied with every aspect of this business.

I would rate them poorly. When I had their technician come out, the air conditioner stopped all together. I had another company come over to check on why it had stopped and they discovered that the technician had crossed the wires so that the transformer was dead. I don't know whether the technician was extraordinarily incompetent or he did that on purpose in order for us to buy a new air conditioner. Mike Williams not only reimbursed us with the $1400 that we paid for their services but also assumed the cost of $100 that we paid for the second heating service that diagnosed the problem. This showed capability on their part.

We needed our gas dryer unhooked in order to have our new electric dryer installed in our new home. Not only did the person that came provide this service, he also helped himself to our copper tubing that went to the dryer in the first place. THIS IS CALLED STEALING PEOPLE!!!!!! And you charged us?????? Amazing. I had heard absolutely terrible things about this company, but I was not home when they were called or they never would have entered my home. We were told if we wanted a gas hook up again, we would have to go out AND BUY THE COPPER TUBING again!
Description of Work: He was to come out to the new house and unhook the gas dryer. Period. Not help himself to our property.

[Members Name], We apologize if there was a miscommunication at the time of your service in regards to the price for the work we completed. We have pulled the invoice from this repair and the cost to replace the flush actuating device in 1 of the 2 bathrooms we worked on was $88. The remaining amount of your invoice covered replacing two posi-temp anti-scald cartridges, installing the shower drain cover, shower arm and body sprayer and installing a faucet and supply lines with a 1 year warranty on all service work. There was a recall on some of the parts, which we came and replaced for free as part of your warranty. We hope this helps you better understand the amount of your invoice. Please feel free to call our office at 888-706-4545 and we can answer any questions you have. Best, Mike Williams Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning and Sewer

They knew what they were doing, but the price was high. I thought I had a leak on the main water pipe, but they determined it wasn't the water pipe. They only needed to replace the seal on the toilet, and I could have done that myself. The service was fine, and they cleaned up after themselves. I would not use them again due to the high price.

1) Checked and cleaned a/c unit per ongoing member/payment. We pay $16/mo for semi-annual checking of heater and a/c. We have not had to use their repair service on this contract, but the cleaning and servicing of both units was great. The techs were very professional, friendly, knowledgeable and respectful of our property and time. Not only no complaints about the service, but we are telling all our neighbors in Urbana about this great service. 2) We started paying $9/mo for maintenance contract about 3 months ago on our 20-yr old water heater. It started leaking 2 weeks ago and we called. We were told it would be highly expensive to have an off-hours call, but could get next day service. if it was covered under our contract there was no charge and if not it would be a nominal fee (I think it was $59 service charge, but not positive). We opted for next day. The (again!) ultra professional, friendly, respectful guys came as scheduled from the call and fixed the problem by replacing the overflow valve. One worker checked before the work to see if it was covered or not so we would know the cost BEFORE they did the work. It turned out the valve was covered, so there was NO service call fee, NO parts fee, NO nothing fee. Bottom line, we are paying a monthly charge, received quality service at NO ADDITIONAL COST, received call from Jennifer prior to and after service checking that everything was done to satisfaction and were given expert, friendly, professional service. We not only would use them again and again, we recommend them to any and all who will listen.
Description of Work: cost does not reflect $25/mo. maintenance charge. Annual cleaning/checking of a/c. Previous, called for a leak in our water heater - about 2 weeks earlier.

I called Mike Williams on March 26 and they were able to schedule me for the next day. Appointment was supposed to be at 2:45 but I got a call that they had an opening at 9 AM and they could send their guy out early, saving me from having to hang around and I could get on with my day. Dan showed up and was very professional and pleasant. He diagnosed the furnace heating issue and thoroughly cleaned the furnace. The parts were the majority of the cost for this project. The woman who answered the phone at Mike Williams was also either having a great day or is just the most chipper person, she was great. Mike Williams has done a couple of jobs for us and each time I appreciated their pleasant nature and willingness to listen and work with us.
Description of Work: Following recent construction in our basement, we were having issues with our furnace due to drywall dust. Dan from Mike Williams came out and gave it a thorough cleaning and installed a new glow bar. Furnace works great now.

[member name removed], We apologize for any misunderstanding. At the time of your phone call, we were booked solid for all regular service hour appointments. Any appointments made during our regular service hours are billed at our regular fee. This fee is not increased for reasons such as weather-related emergencies. During the time you had called in, we were offering customers the option for an emergency same day service visit since all of our regular service hour appointments were full and booking out into the following week. Our emergency, same day service visit does come with a higher fee since the appointment is outside of our normal business hours. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Mary in our office at (217) 753-4545 as she can answer any questions. Again, we apologize if this wasn't made clear during the time of your call.

Used a half off coupon for check out of furnace. This quickly turned into a bill 5X coupon amount since cleaning was not included. Based on time spent, their hourly rate must be $150/hr. Called to complain and they did offer a minor credit. A "I am happy with your service after this credit" letter was sent that I had to sign and return. Credit was not received for a couple weeks, so emailed to inquire. Was told my original check was misplaced on their end and that I needed to send another check, minus the credit. As it turns out, the check was in fact cashed by them, but I had to get a copy of the canceled check for proof, as they did not believe me apparently. They did up the credit for my trouble, but overall still feel it was high priced and a fiasco in the end.

The dishwasher job took about 20 minutes tops, and while it seems to have been done correctly, the cost was incredibly high--I was even a "member" at the time so I got a discount. Previously I had a water heater put in, and I regret that I paid so much for that service too. The heater is shorter than the one I had and the pipes now cling in ways that they hadn't before since no adjustments were made elsewhere.

We did not have them do the work based on the excessive price quote.
Description of Work: Two plumbers arrived several hours after we phoned to ask them to repair a leaky bathtub spout. This should have been a simple job but they were very interested in selling my 90 year old mother a plumbing "club" membership for about $10 per month so that she could "save hundreds" on the work to be performed. When giving us the price to do the work, they referred to a book of prices and astounded us with a quote of $1,998 for a simple home maintenance job. Replacing a spout! That is robbery. We refused and paid their $59 trip fee. If I felt confident in my own skills I would do this one myself. It looks quite easy on the DIY video. I would never call them again. My regular plumber is coming tomorrow.

I have been a customer of Mike Williams for several years. As I have I gotten older, I have realized how much money I have spent with this company that was unnecessary. I have had the maintenance contract for several years. Originally, they completed the servicing and went on their way. Over the past few visits, they have begun trying to get more and more servicing (anywhere from 300-1,000$ add-ons) with nothing actually wrong. The last straw was when I was looking for a more efficient air conditioner. They quoted me about 8-9,000$ for a 1,500 sq. foot home. I checked with a company in my hometown and they just installed a similar unit for 3,250. They are very professional and will go the extra mile in the project, but you will pay out the nose for this service.
