Mattex Heating, Cooling and Plumbing

We had some issues with our furnace and it was past time for it to be replaced. A rep from Mattex came to discuss our needs and the next week, a team arrived to make it happen. While they were at the house and not related to their work, a water pipe burst. Thankfully, they were able to bring in a plumber to make the replacement ASAP. They stayed until the evening to make sure our new system worked for us. And we stayed quite comfortable during this latest cold snap!!

They were very professional. They were very attentive to my schedule. The workers were very professional, they knew what they were doing and they did a good job. That was the first time I used this company.

Went well. One main issue. Wasn't made clear that Ameren rebate was included in cost. I was under the impression that the rebate will be sent to me above and beyond the bid. The rebate went to them. Lost expected rebate of $150. Also disappointed that new Thermostat did not qualify for Ameren smart Thermostat $100 rebate as expected.

It went exactly as the salesman Trevor said it would, to the T. The guys who installed the new system were extremely well mannered, quick, knew what they were doing and all were very nice men. The only break they took was for lunch. Mattex is a very well run business with people who know what they are doing. Very impressive group of people & I highly recommend them.

I wanted to wait until we used both parts of the system (AC and Heating) before I wrote a review. Overall, a very professional experience from both the sales person, Rich, and the installation team. The company offered a top product and Rich answered all of our questions, without us feeling like we were being up sold. Rich's knowledge of systems and how they work and his ability to answer a ton of questions is praiseworthy. He also helped patch the current system for us until the installation could occur--making the week between the order and the install bearable. Then, the installation went smoothly. The technicians were friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and cleaned up after they left. We had questions after the installation, and they too were quickly resolved. Everything has been running smoothly now for about 6 months. We will certainly call on Mattex again for other projects, and I really like that they have multiple services.

Mattex was extremely professional. From the moment I contacted them for an estimate to the final completion of the work, everyone I worked with was great. Sales Coordinator Tara was always very pleasant and eager to help when I called and made sure that everything was properly scheduled. Comfort Consultant Rich couldn't have been more thorough in evaluating my heating and cooling needs and answering all of my questions. Rich met with me when it was convenient for me, even if it was after regular business hours. He was also very quick to respond to emails, which was very appreciated. He took all of the necessary measurements and stats for my house so that the furnace and ac were properly sized. There wasn't any guessing, he used the proper standards for estimating my heating and cooling needs. I really felt like Rich was knowledgeable and careful to listen to my needs. Kyle, the Service Manager, evaluated my house from the plumbing side and thoroughly explained my options for a new water heater and some safety minded upgrades to the gas lines. He was also very pleasant and eager to answer my questions. They scheduled a date to get the water heater, furnace, and air conditioner replaced in the same day so that I did not have to take additional time off of work. On installation day, they were prompt and very careful to keep my house clean during the installation. Jared was the professional who installed the furnace and oversaw the whole operation that day. Jeremy installed the water heater and did a very clean and thorough job, and Seth installed the air conditioner and did a good deal of the work with the new required vents that a high efficiency furnace required as compared to my older, inefficient one. Seth went out of his way to help repair the broken track on the doors to my mechanical room at the end of the day and was professional and a hard worker. I can't really say enough kind things about Jared and his high level of professionalism. He always stopped what he was doing to answer any questions that I had about the installation. When he discovered that the furnace had been damaged prior to arriving at my house, he quickly and seamlessly found me a new one within a remarkably short time period. The entire team worked around this delay so that everything went as close to the original schedule as possible. Jared even tracked down additional furnace filters for me at my request and had them to me at the end of the day. The team stayed as long as needed to make sure that the job was completed in one day. Jared walked me through all of the features and necessary information on my water heater, furnace, and air conditioner. He explained the fairly complicated thermostat in a way that was easy to understand and programmed it so that I would get reminders about changing the furnace filter in the most efficient (and cost effective for me) manner. I mentioned that I might want to have the flue pipe that vents the hot water heater replaced as the home inspection conducted months earlier had identified some corrosion issues. Seth went back into the attic and took pictures of the corrosion so that it could be documented for the future repair. The next week, I scheduled the replacement of the flue pipe and was pleased to find that Jared would be replacing it since he was already familiar with my system. As before, I was extremely happy with his level of professionalism and pleasantness. He took care when replacing the flue pipe and cap, knowing that I was anxious about any water leaking in. He answered additional questions about the air conditioner that I had and completed the work very competently. Overall, I am highly satisfied wit the work completed by Mattex. I still cannot believe how nice my equipment looks because they didn't cut any corners and did the work professionally. I am confident that I will be working with Mattex again in the future for the maintenance of my equipment and for other heating/cooling and plumbing needs. I am sure that I will be asking for Rich personally if I need any other estimates and I guarantee that I will be asking that Jared do my future heating/cooling/plumbing work. They are just that good.

We called Mattex to quote us on a replacement for our 30 year old AC and Furnace. Although we did not ultimately choose to go with them, I still wanted to write them a review because of the positive experience we had during the quote process. I called Mattex on a Tuesday and their comfort consultant was at our home that afternoon. Trevor was a very friendly and knowledgeable representative who expressed clear interest in helping us design a replacement system that would ensure we would be comfortable in our home. He spent 2 hours with us to understand our complaints with the old system and diagnosing the source of those complaints. To give an example of how detail oriented he was: Trevor spent 20 minutes in our crawlspace examining our ducts and was able to identify a few potential issues that we could fix right off the bat! I am a detail oriented consumer, and Trevor was also very patient with my questions and able to explain the technical details in a manner that I could understand. I also appreciated that he quoted us on a range of systems and was clearly not trying to push us to buy the most expensive one. If you're in the market for HVAC, I would definitely recommend giving Mattex an opportunity to earn your business!

Kyle was very professional and sought ways to minimize the cost of the repairs. His work was very clean and efficient. The price included a $100 discount because I've used them before. That was nice! The cost was a little higher than I was hoping but that was offset by the confidence I gained in knowing that the work was done well.

Discovered a problem with my air conditioning system over the weekend, I called first thing Monday morning and they were able to have a technician at my house by 11 am that day. I didn't expect to be able to get service that quickly in the middle of July. Tech was on time, quickly diagnosed the problem and recharged the system. This is my second time using Mattex and will continue to use them for my HVAC service.

I had called provider three days ago about 10 pm because my sump pump would not shut off. The provider has an emergency service. The technician stayed on the phone with me while I checked various things related to the sump pump. I realized while talking with him that it was the backup pump that was continously running. While on the phone, the pump finally stopped. I called back three days later, arranged to have the same technician come to check on my sump pump. He came the same day I called, replaced the pump (with my approval) and was very professional throughout.

Cole was the technician that performed the inspection and he was very thorough. He was able to provide a full report and gave me an honest assessment.

Purchased new system with higher efficiency and because of repeated failures of old system . Sales staff were excellent to work with and installers were outstanding. Timely installation of new furnace. Fully satisfied with every aspect of the work and the Trane furnace they installed. I would highly recommend Mattex.

They were very professional. They came out and measured everything and provided a few estimates. They were very thorough there and provided several different options with several price levels. We were very pleased with them. We had a problem with the new roof pipe leaking from condensation but they promptly arrived to fix that and even took responsibility for the fact that it had not sealed or the sealant had failed. I can't complain that they took full responsibility and fixed it right away. I was pleased with their follow-up

Prior than it used to be, their prices have gone up. Any service company that comes out to do a single service call in this area charge $79.95. Their pricing seems to be in-line with the other companies in town. One of the reasons why we went with them is because of the good pricing of the system we chose. They've always been pretty much right on time throughout the years. They're certainly professional in their dealings with me. I never had any bad dealings with them.

Great job Mattex! The rep that quoted the job was very helpful and thorough. He made a mistake on the quote but found the mistake and was honest and told me before the job was done. Even with the mistake, the job was cheaper than the competition. The workers arrived on time and worked through the day to finish on time. I would highly recommend Mattex for your heating/AC needs!

I have been using Mattex for my plumbing repairs for years now. I would not think of going to anyone else. I used to use overpriced plumbers that charged around $300 an hour until I discovered Mattex and I will never go back. Justin did quite a bit of work cutting a solid lead pipe which was ~65 years old, connected to a cast iron pipe around the same age, and replaced them with new PVC. He also fixed a sewer line leak which was causing a lovely pool of water in the basement, and gave me a couple of options for the problems with my hot water heater. I decided to have him replace the old hot water heater with a newer, larger model. He explained that their hot water heaters come with a service guarantee, unlike the hot water heaters you buy from the big box stores, where you need to call the manufacturer to have them come out to take a look if there are any problems. The toilet now finally works perfectly, there are no pools of water in the basement, and the very quiet hot water heater provides plenty of hot water. I have also called Mattex to fix other plumbing leaks in crawl spaces, to replace other hot water heaters in my other properties, and also to look at my furnace. They always do an exceptional job. Justin is experienced, courteous, clean, and efficient. I recommend Mattex to everyone.

The service went great. They made a point to get us in on a Friday before a cold weekend and get the issue fixed before leaving

They promptly scheduled the appointment, showed up on time, and did a great job at a reasonable cost. Tyler did a great job explaining what he did and what I can do in the future to ensure both sump and backup remain in working order. It was also nice to receive an electronic receipt via email, as this will be much easier for me to find in the future.

Furnace inspection and maintenance.

Initially got a price of $10500 from another Hvac contractor. Wanted to find somebody closer. Called Mattex took them a week to generate a quote. Salesman returned about half my calls. By the time I got my quote the house was 60 degrees and we needed heat. They told me it would be 10 days to get the new furnace. At this point it was to late to use somebody else. I asked the salesman if their wasnt anything that could be done to speed it up ? he said no... I later talk to the regional guy for the furnace manufacture said that was not true it could have been rushed when the system was totally down. Soo two and a half weeks later with out heat we had a brand new shinny furnace that was overpriced. However it was a nice installation and the people were very nice and we were very cold for about two and a half weeks.
