Luther Falls Custom Kitchens

I have a mixed review on this company. The installers were amazing and very professional. Their work was flawless. They explained the entire process and answered my questions as they went. They arrived on time and worked consistently until the work was completed. Cleaned up after themselves when they left. I could not be happier with their efforts. Now for the second part of the review. I have to take part ownership of this part of the review. The owner, Luther, came out and measured the counter top. We explained we had a countertop and backsplash at a previous home. We wanted to replicate that design. They asked for a picture. We showed it to them. It showed a 4" quartz backsplash then the wall backsplash sitting on top of that. He gave us a very reasonable quote. We went ahead and put down the deposit and planned to move forward. When the installers showed up I asked them not to attach the quartz backsplash so I could install the wall backsplash first. I was informed that I hadn't ordered the quartz backsplash. He told me to call the store and speak with Luther. This is where it completely south. He told me his worksheet clearly says no backsplash. I told him how I remembered our conversation. That is when he said he quoted exactly what was in the picture. I told him I would get a copy of the picture. I called him back to get his cell number so I could send him the picture. Holy cow! Luther turned into a screaming individual. He called me a MotherFxxxer. He said he didn't care what the "F" the picture showed. I asked him to calm down and we could work through this issue. I asked him to just quote me what if would take to get the backsplash. Where I went wrong I didn't get a copy of his worksheet that he claimed had the "no backsplash" note on it. He continued to scream and even got madder. Our conversation ended when he told me to "F" off and hung up on me. I was on speaker phone and his employees heard how the owner treats his customers. So if you want to be verbally abused during installation by the owner, this company is good fit for you. Please remember, if you can get past this extremely bad customer service, you will have a very professionally installed countertop. There prices are reasonable but the customer service from the owner will take your breath away. We had our two bathroom countertops quoted to do later in the spring. I for one is not going through that kind of verbal abuse again. I think the current owner is going to collapse a three generation company. I knew both his grandfather and father. I know they would be mortified on his customer service skills

Very sketchy bid. Terrible communication. Rude emails. Girl at office is spooky. This place is a real piece of work.

After working with Dee Falls to design our our kitchen, we approved the design and placed our order for the first set of kitchen cabinets in May and were told is would be 5 weeks until delivery. About two weeks later, I got an email saying that the manufacturer was behind and it would be another 8 weeks before our order arrived. Around the time that I expected to hear from them, I made attempts to contact Dee for updates, only to be told that she had retired. The first set of cabinets arrived just after Labor day, and the final order for the island cabinets was then sent in once we were able to take the remaining measurements. However, three weeks later when the cabinets were delivered they were a completely different style than what we had ordered, did not match the other cabinets, and were doored cabinets instead of the drawers we asked for. I sent them back, and replacements were ordered. Three weeks after that, the next delivery occured, and I made sure to open the boxes while the delivery guys were there, only to find that two of those cabinets were still not as requested on our original design order. I call Luther, only to be told that he was not there, but on further discussion with his assistant I could hear him yelling in the back that he was accusing me of "changing her mind twice now" and I would have to take him to court to get the cabinets as I originally ordered. I apologized to his delivery guys for their having to overhear a heated conversation, and they said "It's OK. We work for him. He's like that every day." Additionally, this was not the first time he refused to take my call, and has had a record of failing to return messages, both phone and e-mail. In order to get answers to even the most simple of questions meant having to drive to the business to find him. I will never do business with this firm again. It has gone to **** since Dee retired.

They did a great job. They were on time, efficient and tidy. The estimate was what I paid and there were no surprises.

We priced new countertops at two of the local "big box" stores, and quickly learned that stone countertops are priced comparably with solid surface countertops (e.g., Corian), so we decided to go with granite. We have a small kitchen and only needed 30 sq. feet. The price for one of the least expensive stone countertops alone at the home store was over $1500 (including an extra sale discount of 10%)--the tear out of the existing counter, cost to polish the sink opening and undermount our sink, and the back splash were all extra costs, and the price quickly rose well above $2000. We almost did not check out Luther Falls because we assumed they would be more expensive. Boy we are sure glad we did! The amount we paid ($1740 cash; paying with a credit card would have added an additional 4%) included everything except the plumbing work. We used their recommended plumber, Fred Kobel, and he did a great job. Dee gave us excellent advice in choosing the granite that would best match our needs. She advised also that the new backsplash would be a bit taller than the old one to be certain that any old caulk stains or old paint color would be concealed--much appreciated so I don't have to paint right away. We did have to wait a few weeks for the measurement appointment, but the installation was scheduled for three days later, and went smoothly. The two slabs fit perfectly--and the crew was in and out in under two hours. They took care to make sure their tools and supplies were placed on a blanket so as not to scratch our wood floors, and they cleaned up thoroughly when done. And I should add that the caulking job above the backsplash is nothing short of perfection! One caveat however is that the selection at Luther Falls is not nearly as large as the home improvement stores, but we had no problem finding a suitable granite among what they did have available. As a side note, I also requested pricing on new kitchen cabinets and the cost was really affordable--but we plan to sell the house in a couple of years and so decided not to spend the extra money at this time. Bottom line: I would definitely recommend Luther Falls Custom Kitchens for your kitchen remodeling needs--their prices cannot be beat by the local chain home improvement stores. Our new granite countertop and backsplash look great!

The process went very well. Everyone we dealt with was helpful and professional. We chose a granite countertop in the showroom, but we were able to visit the "yard" to see the actual slab from which it would be cut. The installers delivered, placed and installed the new countertop. Work was done quickly and job site was cleaned up before departure. Very pleased.

We are very pleased with the job that Luther Falls did and we felt that the price was reasonable. Deanna was very professional and easy to work with. The only glitch was that they were supposed to come on a Saturday to install our counters, but didn't show up. We waited all morning. We were not able to get in touch with them to find out what was happening. They came the following Monday.

I was concerned because of mixed reviews elsewhere. But all went well. They were much cheaper than the other place I looked at. They have a decent showroom. I went to their "shop" about 2 miles away and picked a slab. They installed on schedule and worked in coordination with my plumber. Price was about 75% of what other place quoted. Although I was concerned about their quality, it was very good (maybe not the best seams I have seen, but still very good).

Went into the showroom with an estimate of square footage needed for my countertops. Based on what I provided, I was given a quote and they stated that this could change slightly based on the final measurement. Final measurement was quick and no issues, price did not change. Usually it is 2 weeks after your final measurement, but if you are w/out a sink, they will bump it up by a week. I went out to the yard the weekend they were cutting to see the pieces, which all looked great. Installation included 4 men who came and installed 5 pieces in just about an hour. One piece of advice I would give is that my quote included the standard edge, and I wanted a "half bullnose", which they consider custom and and extra 20%. While this was an unforseen added expense I blame myself just as much Luther Falls because I did not specify what I wanted. Learned my lesson there.

We had a terrible experience with this company. We hired them to update our kitchen - to change the cabinets and install a granite counter tops. We have no problems with kitchen cabinets - it was what we ordered, they did a very god job installing them on Monday, September 17. But the granite counter tops - is a different story. First of all, Luther Falls told us that they will finish everything on Wednesday (he picked the day, not us), and I assumed that "finish everything" means - everything: granite tops, installing pulls (handles) on kitchen cabinets (because I forgot to order them sooner, but I had them on Wednesday), water hook-up (plumber services). But it turned out that the plumber was scheduled on Thursday-Friday, which would be OK with us if they explained it to us ahead of time. So when the granite was installed, they wanted to get the last check from us, which was ready, but I thought (how naive of me) that one should pay the balance after the job is complete. Not the case with this company, Luther yelled at me when I called him to ask why I should pay if not the whole job is done, he was screaming obscenities, so I hung up, called the office and talked to his mother, Deanna, who apologized for him and explained that they actually installed the granite earlier than planned. So OK, we gave them the check. But after I came home from work, I realized - the wrong color granite was installed. I called Deanna the next day and made an appointment to see her. When we showed up and started talking to her, that's when the h*** broke loose. They did a nice installation job. But they did not install the right color granite - I guess I didn't ask them enough, only told them about 10 times, and even had them put my name on the granite slab I chose. When we went to the office to talk to them about it, Mr. Falls, I assume (he said he was the owner, but we dealt only with his wife Deanna and his son Luther Falls) came out of the back room and began shouting at us, requesting us to leave his place of business at once, stomping his foot at us and crowding us out. He acted like a deranged person, screaming obscenities, making derogatory remarks, and throwing his fists in the air, calling my 75-year-old husband (who recently had had open heart surgery) a "son of a b****" and other names, after my husband asked him to please stop shouting. When I reminded him that we are his clients, he screamed at us that we were not his clients anymore and commanded us to leave at once. My husband and I both were in a state of shock and disbelief, but I continued to try to converse with Deanna, which was cut short by a policeman having shown up, who escorted us out. Indeed, the man, whom I assume was Mr. Falls, had called the police, though it was only 4:50 p.m., ten minutes before the store was to close. I simply was trying to talk to the people whom we had hired to do a job of remodeling our kitchen for us. I have to say, we never have been so humiliated in our entire lives! We were going to use their services for updating both of our bathrooms, but not anymore, of course, not after we've been through with them. They were quite a bit cheaper than other places I checked, now I know why - they totally ignore your wishes, and install whatever is convenient for them at the moment, never-mind that you ordered something different and paid for it with your hard earned money. Now I wish I hired another company and paid more, but have what I ordered and paid for. I know two other people who received the wrong granite from them. Evidently it's a norm for this so called business. I hope this will be a warning to others.

I spent $3500 on that work. They helped me decide between different counter tops, they took me out to their granite yard, and they came to measure. They were very easy to work with and they were clean, efficient, and on time. Their pricing was great.

When I first contacted them, they were at mu house the very same day to measure and give estimate. I was told in six weeks. After I paid the deposit, I never heard from them. Everytime I called, they said they will be there the next week to measure agian. They took more than 10 weeks to show up again and another 5 weeks to do the job. They were rude when I inquired about the status of my job, telling me that I was not the only customer they have. All I wanted was a date of install and that was too much to ask! They took three times as long as I was told after calling them several times. The worst service imaginable.
