FRED'S PLUMBING & HEATING

The company installed a boiler system & radiant heating system for our home and we called for a repair in year two of operation. The owner, who is the only person in the company qualified for more complex jobs, is either overbooked, uninterested in the business, or some combination thereof. We were told that he would be available in two weeks but that no one knows his schedule. So, we couldn't actually schedule service. He ultimately resolved the issue within a month. The following winter was much worse. The system had issues again. From the first time at which we contacted the company, we waited 8 weeks for him to show up and diagnose the issue, and 12 weeks to fix the problem. Further, the issue was a glycol leak that was (1) expensive to resolve and (2) potential evidence of shoddy work in their first set of repairs. The company's technicians are professional and qualified for routine jobs. They are very responsive. However, given the poor management and excessive reliance on one person who seems uninterested in helping, I'd never recommend this company for any work.

A plumber did not show to perform the work. No one bothered to call to say they would not be there nor did they return my call! Horrible business manners! Very unprofessional! Very unreliable! I would not recommend them for any plumbing needed!

Owner disconnected from business, very poor documentation if any that align with work performed, numerous overcharges that were undocumented on top of very poor workmanship throughout. Radiant heating system in driveway froze due to inadequate mixture of glycol, leak on main floor due to poorly installed sink fitting ruined basement ceiling, drain line from wine cellar condenser ran up hill, water leaked all over custom cabinets and ruined them, HVAC ductwork engineered and installed incorrectly and had to reengineer and replace, leaked diesel fuel all over new driveway, numerous electrical code violations that needed rewired. The list goes on, nice crew of workers but very incompetent.

Excellent, the technician was able to repair the damaged line and restore my water pressure without delay.

They are very good. I like them very much. He was only here in hours and prepared the stuff for summer season.

Well. Problem solved. A knocking in the wall was due to a toilet issue, not a major plumbing problem. Replaced the toilet's innards quickly; had the stuff in their truck. Done and gone and solved in under an hour. Punctual, on time, and within budget.

Fred's has done many jobs for me over the years. They are always friendly, professional, and do good work at a fair price. They don't try to take advantage and charge you for things you don't need, as at times the price has been lower than anticipated.

Not good at all! Frank gave me measurements for the tub so that I alone would pick it out. Frank stayed here at the house, while I went shopping. I know NOTHING about what is good and what is bad, that's why i hired someone! He also did not advice me about a surround wall. He did p$ut in a fan light, as of right now that is ok. When it comes to the tub faucet he really messed up. It would not fully turn off. He said something to the effect . . thats probably why the water was going behind the tiles. he supposedly got the right part and fixed it. We had water running - not Dripping from the faucet 2 times. The new shower head did not fit when he tried it, so he used the old one! The paint job was done hApHAZARDLY. It was not in the contract so I don't think he cared. The wall behind the toilet tank was not painted. Also, Frank was upset w himself as he swore several times while working. As I said, I know nothing about this. Unfortunately I paid him! I do not recommend him!

He was prompt, couteous and he answered all my questions in a friendly manner. I would definitely call Fred's Plumbing again.

The sink was an old marble one. The marble cracked and dirty. The tile around the front of the tub below the faucet was all coming off. That all neede to be replaced. I chose the surround tub without any type of conceltation with Fred. He never offered to come along and help. The room looks great, the sink is clean but the shower is still dripping - we got another plumber in to fix the dripping - the paint I got really makes the room clean.

After looking at Angie's List, I called Fred's. A human answered the phone and set up an appointment. A technician arrived at the specified time and was done in less than an hour. It's been a couple of months since he was here, no leaks, no problems. I may have been able to fix this myself, but it required a torch and soldering inside the house near exposed wooden rafters. I'm a pretty good do-it-yourselfer, but I know my limits and using a blowtorch next to wooden rafters is better left to a professional.

I was very happy with their work. They had it fixed within an hour. They let me purchase my own pump so that I could find it cheaper. They will treat you right.

jOn the recommendation of a friend I called Fred's, got an appointment for the next day, and this was right before a holiday. The serviceman was punctual, fast, honest and explained what he did. He even took his shoes off at the door so as to not track in mud! The work took less than an hour, he explained what he did, what and why he replaced parts. I thought it was great because I knew what the problems were and after trying, could not fix myself, so I felt totally confident in what he did and respected the fact that he told me..

he came out several times to work with me to evaluate situation and my needs. he was patient but got busy during one of his other projects. the heater he installed is just as he described. his team performed installation and it was kind of hard since they had not done one like this one with a thermostat. however, they did solve the problem. my only real complaint is that they left a wire exposed because they thought I was going to have another contractor cover it up. that could have been a miscommunication.

He charged $9000 for putting in the entire air-conditioning and heat pump and we think that was a good price as we had checked around. The reason why we always chose him is because he is always here when he says he is going to be here and we had trouble with other contractors with that a lot, he comes in under the estimates. After he did installations, we had a problem with the dishwasher and he was right out here to fix it. We had compared the price with others and it was reasonable but it sounded a lot of money to me. He is one of the best contractors that we have dealt with in the last twenty five years.

We have apartment buildings, so it is more than residential work that they do for us. They are responsible and polite and seem knowledgeable. I think they are a little more expensive than a regular provider, but they seem to be good, so it is worth it. They are a little pricey, but they will do a good job. We will continue to use them in the future.

They were very good and they came very quickly. We have been really happy with them.

Fred's once came out on Christmas Eve to fix our broken furnace for us. He is great!
