I was looking for "the metal piece you pound into the bottom of furniture in order to level it." Obviously, I didn't know what it was called. It wasn't in the section for short screw-in leveling legs and glides at Lowe's, so the salesperson at Lowe?s sent me to CU Woodshop, a place I'd never heard of. I went up to the counter at CU Woodshop and described the item as above. With some exasperation, the fellow said, "What are you trying to do?" I said, "Level a piece of furniture." He asked, "Are you looking for a SHIM?" I said, no, not a shim. So with evident impatience and disgust he then handed me off to an older lady, who took me to the aisle with the short screw-in leveling legs and glides. I did need some "short screw-in leveling legs" but, just as at Lowes, the piece they screwed into wasn't there. Or, actually, only one very-large size version, appropriate for industrial equipment. She looked on the computer and couldn't find anything more suitable, either. She apologized. I couldn't believe that a woodworking store wouldn't carry the appropriate size for wooden furniture, I went back to the aisle to browse. Finally, I found what I needed in another section, on the other side of the aisle. There were several sizes. They were labeled "T-nuts." (Now I know.) For unimpressive service-- the sales staff either being impatient (the first fellow) or not particularly knowledgeable about their inventory and what it is used for (the older lady)-- I give them a D. But, for actually carrying what I need, I'll bump them up to a C. (Although Lowe's does, too, as I found out when I later did an online search using "T nut.") You would think that a place that offers instruction/classes would be a lot more tolerant to someone who doesn't know the terminology.
Description of Work: I was looking for some hardware for which I didn't know the name. I found it at this store, but I wasn't impressed at all by the service.
