Good service- on the expensive side

Overall no complaints with service. Just would have been nice to have more information from the begining.

I'm very happy with ABC so far. They are very helpful and knowledge about how to dispose of different trash.

We have been satisfied with their service for the past two or three years. They have answered questions regarding pick-up following holidays, and on the materials they accept for recycling, when I called. They have not missed any pick-up days.

DON'T use this company!

I've been using ABC since August, 2005. I've used them at two residences in Champaign and have been very happy with the service. They have never missed a pickup. Their price has gone up twice since I started using them, each time by $1.00/month. They will usually pick up anything you leave by the curb. The one exception was when I had trash cans full of old plaster from when I was re-doing my ceiling. The cans were too heavy and they told me they wouldn't be able to help when I called them in advance, so I have no complaint with that. My only unpleasant experience with them involves the gentleman who picks up the recycling. Someone walking their dog dropped a poop bag on top of the recycling one morning. I happened to be leaving for work when he came by to pick up the recycling. He asked me in a fairly unpleasant way whether I had a "d*** dog." This happened again at my second residence and I happened to look out the window at the same time that he flung the bag up in the air so that it landed on the ground a few feet away from trash can that hadn't been emptied yet. The trash can was right next to him, so it would have actually been easier to just put it in there rather than acting unprofessionally. I'd be annoyed by this too if I were him, I just wish he could handle it a little better, though I did have to laugh a little after the bag flinging incident.

I attempted to contract with this company, they used to service the house I just bought. But because the neighborhood has a poor reputation they required a deposit. Not a problem. They also needed proof that I was not the person who already has service with them, - irritating but, again, no problem. Then she insisted that I leave my social security number on the application sheet - a sheet of notebook paper with other names and social security numbers on it. I objected - and the receptionist said that they cross out the SAN after they enter it into the computer. They have little in the way of security (she said they have an alarm system if somebody wishes to steal the computer.) I refused - she explained their collection agency requires SAN up front, and that if I don't like it, there are other garbage collection services who serve this neighborhood. I took her up on it and left, contracted with a different service.
