Interaction during the project, and ability to tweak scope of project ”on the go” was excellent.

Workers on site have been very competent; show up on time, work all day, clean up each day, and start over the next morning. Have been very responsive to our input; always asking for our thoughts if there is any question about specific issues.

They were on time, did an excellent job and cleaned up after themselves. They went above and beyond! When my cat took a dive down one of the air vents they spent 3+ hours in a muddy crawl space working to free him. When I started struggling putting on some low outlet covers, they took over. These are first rate people!

Professional in every sense of the word. Provided an estimate based on a site visit. Great communication regarding scheduling. Painters (2) arrived and taped off the entire kitchen project, trimmed, and applied two coats of paint. The team came back as scheduled for touch up and to address our every concern (which were trivial and expected). After unsuccessfully trying to remove wallpaper that had probably been on the walls for 30 years or more, I gave up and decided to find someone to do it. There were not a lot of options, but one site came up, 2nd Street Painting, so I emailed a request for estimate. Within minutes, the owner, Nate Garcier contacted me and offered to come by on Sunday, Dec. 31st. He came as scheduled, assessed, measured and gave me an estimate, followed by an emailed quote later that afternoon. Finding 2nd Street Painting was a stroke of luck. The work was done in three days, removing wallpaper, priming and repairing cracks and holes in walls and ceiling, and then painting. Workers arrived on time, got to work, and daily cleanup was fantastic. The crew was pleasant and when they ran into a snag, explained what was going on, how it was going to be remedied. They had to paint the continuation of a long wall, part of which had been painted earlier, and the match was perfect. You could not see any “seam”. When they left the work area was cleaner than it was when they started! Highly recommended!

Except for some clean-up issues, they were very accommodating and professional.

2nd Street Painting just completed painting our 1904 two story home in Tolono, IL.  My wife and I are very pleased with the quality of the finished product provided by Nate, Clayton and the crew. As a recently retired Architect, I am very conscious of the requirements and skills needed by painters and other trades.  From the beginning, I was impressed.  Nate and 2 other firms came to my house to prepare bids for the work.  Only Nate prepared a detailed two page typed bid that made it clear what work would be done and included the warrantee on the work.  The other bidders hand scribbled little more that a price. I also noticed other important considerations in picking a quality painting company for your work: Preparation (i.e. scraping) is the most important part of a good paint job and it was done very well by the crew. The painters used a high quality paint and primer, not a lower quality "contractor grade" paint. The painters showed up on time and didn't take "extended" breaks at lunch or during the day. The worksite was well organized and cleaned up at the end of the day. The painters work well with carpenters who were repairing siding and trim ahead of them.  In general, we could have been more pleased with 2nd Street Painting and we are happy to recommend them to others.

They did a great job. They showed up every day, even on a holiday, until the work was complete. I would recommend them to family and friends.
