They carefully explained all the steps that would be required in the process when I first asked them to visit. They would not estimate the cost until the drywall was removed so they could determine the magnitude of the problem. I authorized the specific work they proposed totaling $10,000. They performed the work promptly and went out of their way to clean up any mess that was created along the way. When they finished, we had the same person that remove the drywall put it back. It has been months and there has been an abundance of rain. No more leaking has occurred since the repair was made.
Description of Work: We had a leaking basement foundation. They asked us to get someone in to remove the drywall in the area of the leak. They then estimated that it would cost about $10,000 to seal with metal materials the area where the leaking was occuring. We authorized the work, they did it promptly, and we have had no further problems since the work was completed. They did what they proposed and the costs were exactly as represented.

They came out and they looked at a few things and gave us a high estimate. They did not take the time to look at other things in the house to make a good decision. I feel they did not do a thorough enough job to give a correct estimate. They never sent us a written proposal either.
Description of Work: They came out and did an estimate on a few cracks in our foundation. We also had moisture getting into our crawlspace.

The work done was great. They were no problem. They came and did what they were supposed to do. They even charged me less than what they were going to charge. They were able to do the work with less pierce on the wall. They didn’t charge for the extra work. I would use them in the future.
Description of Work: I used Helitech Waterproof & Structural Repair probably two years ago. They pierced my basement wall.

I spent $2620 on that work. They did a great job. I felt they had a fair price considering I had other companies come over for an estimate. Their estimate was for the work that needed to be done rather than people coming and telling me what needed to be done and charge me for it. My basement floor had dropped to a point where I had a lot of unusable space, it was almost diagonal and they pumped it out and leveled it. They were professional.
Description of Work: I used Helitech Waterproof & Structural Repair in May of 2008 to fill two 15 foot cracks in the basement wall and some mudjacking.

They came, gave a bid and did what they said they would do. It was fixed and the repairs were as expected.
Description of Work: We had several piers installed at our house for a sinking garage and a sinking fireplace. A year later, it is all great - no more cracks in the house and all is well. We had several cracks fixed in the basement too.

Tim Degener was informative and helpful during the bidding phase and installation of the support system. He also pointed out that we had other foundation problems, street creep, that could be alleviated by the county street department that proved to be helpful. The installation crew was punctual and did a great job. Because of the multiple support systems offered by Helitech it was easy to switch between the helical and push pier supports. The other companies that quoted the work only provided the push piers. If we had we hired one of those they wouldn’t have been able to complete the project. The only down side was the condition of the yard after the work was done. Landscaping restoration is not part of Heliteh’s scope so the landscape after the work is complete will need to be restored by yourself or a professional landscaper. This may not be big problem on a flat lot but with our steep grade a pro was needed. Helitech did put down straw and seeded the area but with our poor soil this was not enough. This is not a complaint, just a warning as what to expect.
Description of Work: Two sides of our house began to settle. Helitech proposed to install 3 helical supports and 7 push piers. The helical piers were to be installed under the garage wall because the weight of the house was not heavy enough to use the push pier system. Our lot drops off considerably so the grade along one wall where to work was performed was very steep making the work difficult i.e. the holes to be dug were10’ to 12’ deep in some places and had to be dug by hand. During the installation very poor soils were encountered and the push pier system would not work. Helitech switched to an all helical supports and completed the project.

It was a good quote but we went with another company that had a better system. Their system was not right for the work we needed done but if their system matched our work we would consider them. They were on time, they had a good team here, they looked over the job thoroughly, and they gave a good estimate that was probably quite reasonable.

I tried numerous times to contact this company. When I finally did, the person called and canceled the appointment and rescheduled. They did not show up for the rescheduled appointment or even call. After they missed the appointment I received a call a week later from the same gentleman from Helitech responding to an earlier call I had placed two weeks before the scheduled appointment and he stated "I have a message on my desk to call you." I am not sure if they are too busy or just unorganized. I should have paid attention to the other comments on Angie's List warning me of this situation. I did email the company and the venue they advertise under about my experience.

They had previously done work in the basement. There was standing water in the basement so I tried to get them to return and fix whatever was causing it. Of course they wanted more money to fix the problem. It took six months to get them to come out-in the mean time mold took hold in the basement resulting in additional cost for mold abatement. There is still water in the basement. There seems to be a huge disconnect beween the estimators and the people who actually do the work.
Description of Work: It took six months to get them out to assess the issue. Probably because they had already waterproofed the basement and this was a call to get them to stand by their warranty. They eventually dug a trench and put more drains in the basement. They then re routed the sump outlet (twice-they did it incorretly the first time. If I had it to do owver I would not use them. Unfortunately since they were the original contractors I was rying to e them to stand beind what they had already done.

The experience was great. They set the appointment and showed up when they were supposed to. They gave me their pricing and said they would show up. They have shown up here and it looks like they are doing the work. They definitely don’t work like someone who just started out doing it. They are all in uniforms and I am well pleased. This experience has been better than my experience with remodeling contractors. The estimator set an appointment. He called the evening before to make sure we were still on track. I was going to call him that morning and reschedule. He said no problem and we rescheduled it. He brought his son with him.

I had them come in and fix a basement leak. They didn't do a good job the first time. They had to come out a fix it again. They are extremely slow. There seemed to no communication between the office and there techs. The job took several months to start. The second time they had to come was months after the problem arose again. They didn't even diagnose all the problems properly.

Overall, it went very well. It was a very large area that had to be mudjacked, and they did the job quickly (1 day). They also cleaned up the basement very well after they were done working. I'll note that the price for this work was higher than it would typically be for this kind of work because of access issues to my basement. (They had to feed the equipment lines through a basement window that was way over on the opposite side of the house.) The floor turned out great, and it's so nice to not be tripping over the floor crack anymore!
Description of Work: They mudjacked my basement floor which had a crack running the length of it. One half of the floor was about 2" higher than the other half.

The whole process went very well. After calling Helitech to look at why we kept getting new cracks in the basement walls as well as why 5 doors on the main level didn't close anymore, they sent out an engineer very quickly to assess the problem. He took many measurements and looked around the whole basement (inside and out). He then told us that a corner of our house was actually sinking and explained why he thought that and how that would happen. He went back to his office to develop a plan to fix our problem and came back to our house within a couple weeks to go over his plan. At the time, the work couldn't be done for a couple of months due to a backlog of jobs. (This was the fall of 2007 after we had drought-like conditions, which is not good for your foundation. A lot of people were having problems with their basements.) When they could finally come to do the work, they did it pretty quickly (2 days). They had to dig from the inside (we have an unfinished basement), so they had to make big holes in the basement floor, which they repaired when they were finished. It was difficult to access the area, and they had to feed the equipment lines through a basement window. In doing so, they cracked the glass in one storm window, which they replaced quickly without needing to be asked to do so. I'll note, too, that the piers were put in to stabilize the foundation only. No lifting was done after installation. Overall, they were a very professional, worked quickly and cleaned up very well. (Think of big piles of dirt in your basement. There was no trace after the work was completed.) We've had no trouble with any more doors not closing, and we don't hear all the house-settling noises we were hearing before the work.

The company promptly returned our call to set up a time to bid the job, arrived on time for the estimate on 7/17, and provided a written estimate that day. We sent in our deposit by check on 8/5 and upon calling to confirm receipt, we inquired about the installation date which was approximately 1 1/2 months later (9/23). On the day of the job, the two man crew arrived on time at 8 am and promptly performed the work to our satisfaction.

He said it was a bigger job than what was needed because our house was only 14 years old. They would do a deep fix to take care of any shifting, and it would be $1200-$1400 per pier, and they said 3-7 piers were needed. He recommended another company that could help with my problem and said that they were good people. Unfortunately, my experience with the company he suggested turned out to be sour.

The workers showed up on time and were very nice. They broke a stepping stone 12" x 36" with the drill head they used to install the piers. I was told by the supervisor that someone would look at it the next day to settle this problem. I have not seen anyone so far. The crew also left a large chunk of concrete on the site.

The workers did a great job. The sales staff however made a error that cost us precious time. The original job to be performed was just the mud jacking. When they came out to do the work, we were informed we needed to have the porch peered. This delayed the process considerably. If this was noticed up front this could have saved a lot of time on the project. The delay cost us several weeks overall. The workers were great and very knowledgeable. If I had something that was time sensitive, I would definitely consider other options. If it was a something I had time to invest into it, I would use them.
