Signature Remodeling

The window has not been ordered. Occasionally, he texts that he will order it. He does excellent work, I am very disappointed, I have been a customer since 2006. He did the rest of my windows.

I originally got an estimate from another contractor who did not impress during the estimation process. He no-called, no-showed the first appt, didn't bring a tape measure to the 2nd appt, and then gave me an estimate that was almost double the one I got from Signature Remodeling. I had 2 adjacant windows that I wanted removed and replaced with a sliding patio door. John measured and we consulted on the best approach. There were pluses and minus to either ordering a five foot door, a six foot door, or a custom door. I chose to go the extra expense of the custom door but it was partially offset by a reduction in labor costs that the other 2 options would have cost. John was very professionally in telephone, email, and in-person encounters. He was very precise in his work and cleaned up thoroughly each day. I also had him build a 3 foot landing and stairs the width of the door in cedar that came out beautifully. He provided me with drawings for permit purposes and there were no issues during the three inspections the county required. He charged $500 to measure and install the door, which I ordered from Home Depot and the labor cost was comparable to what they charge. The landing, which took 3 visits due to the required inspections, cost $2100 for materials and installation. John has several years experience and does all kinds of remodeling, specializing in kitchen and baths and decks. He is also licensed to due plumbing and electrical work, avoiding the need of hiring a 2nd contractor to move wiring or plumbing. I would heartily recommend him to anyone looking to do remodeling of any kind.
