HPO Painting

The entire experience was excellent from start to finish. Eric did a walk-through with us at the start of the process and was very attentive to our needs. This was an extensive job, as all rooms and all the trim needed painting. His crew for this job, Joshua and Mike, were friendly, hardworking and industrious, and very helpful when we needed some furniture and belongings moved to facilitate the painting. The walls and trim looked absolutely gorgeous when everything was finished.

I cannot say enough good things about Eric and HPO. We had 7 different crews come out and look at our kitchen cabinets that we wanted painted. Eric spent the most time with us and seemed like a real pro. He was here for at least 20 min while others were here maybe 5. He also had the best price. He is extremely skilled and did a perfect job on our complicated cabinets. Highly recommend and would and will hire again. (Kitchen before and after)

HPO Painting did a very professional job! They performed extensive preparation work (hand scraping and power washing) - more than any other painter I have hired. They also recommended the materials used after listening to my concerns. Very impressed with the work and their professionalism!

Eric and his team (especially Josh) are very good at their trade. They are very meticulous and are very careful to make sure the project is done well and to our satisfaction. HPO painting has done a number of jobs for us and we are very happy with the high quality, decent responsiveness (sometimes it took a couple of days for email replies) and careful attention to detail. Eric estimates the time to get the project done but is no rush if it takes longer, he is focused on doing the job right. While they have not been the low bidder on a couple of projects, you get what you pay for and we are happy to have gone with them. We would definitely (and have) hire them again.

HPO Painting was Great. Eric kept in contact with me throughout, letting me know his schedule because of rain delays. His crew, Tyler, Joshua and Arturo were professional throughout the job. They used tarps everywhere, and swept and cleaned up after their day was done. They were efficient and painted really well. I thought to myself while watching them, that they painted as if this was "their" home. They also double checked their work and did touch ups. Great job and people....I would definitely hire these guys again!!!

The crew did an excellent job for a competitive price. Eric was friendly and knowledgeable and all costs were disclosed with receipts provided for paint supplies. Would recommend and hire again.

The crew was professional and friendly. All work was done in a timely manner and they kept the work area clean and organized. I have a lot of landscaping and nothing was damaged or covered in paint. There were a few standard touch ups that needed to be completed after the final walk through. The corrections were handled promptly and with care. Would definitely recommend them and would hire again.

Painters did an excellent job. They were precise in their work, courteous, and careful with the furniture and fixtures. They were thorough in cleaning up after the day's work. We employed them for three days. Eric, the owner, carefully checked their work at the completion of the job. Payment was made in full after the job was done. The charges were fair. I will hire HPO to paint the remaining rooms in our home in the future.

From the moment the fellows arrived at my door, I felt very comfortable. They were polite, introduced themselves, and asked me to show them the areas to be worked on. They proceeded to bring in all the materials to cover EVERYTHING,...and I mean EVERYTHING...as to protect it during the painting process.....They started the job....and 6 hours later were done....From trimming it out to covering the walls beautifully....and cleaning up afterwards, I couldn't have been more pleased!! I will definitely be using this company again....Very nice guys I enjoyed having in my home!!

Eric did a fantastic job. He helped with color selection providing several tips. While he was powerwashing the house prior to painting, he also did the concrete patio off the lower level - an added bonus. The job was done when promised and the work was excellent. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend HPO.

It went just as explained in the first meeting and estimate,,,, work done on time and as described...excellent finish and cleanup.

Overall no issues, work was done ina timely manner, a couple of minor issues were corrected promptly.

I had several exterior painting companies quote my job, all of whom I received through Angie's List. I went with HPO for several reasons. First, the owner Eric, spent a full 90 minutes with me during the initial information gathering phase of the quote. We walk slowly through all the required painting needed for the job and he took good notes. He gave me suggestions during that meeting on what paint finish would look best on various parts of my siding and trim. I felt he knew what color scheme finishes would work best on my house. Second, he stated he would only quote the labor part of the job, and that the paint he would purchase separately so I could see what the purchase price of the paint. He stated other companies inflate the material costs to make more money. Third, his price was very competitive compared to my other painting contractor options. His crew was very professional, efficient and did a terrific job on my house. The project was delayed a couple weeks initially due to rain, but when HPO started working on my house, it was quick with great results. I would certainly recommend HPO to anyone that needs exterior painting.

Fantastic! Eric and Josh were extremely professional, prompt, courteous, clean, impeccable and amazing! They had tarps for all flooring and put plastic on and over everything else. Not a drop of paint was anywhere it shouldn't be. It looks like the painting was done before cabinets were installed, I can't believe the precision. Even after they sanded the patching, there was no clean up on my part due to their prep work. They went above and beyond helping me move a cabinet back in place and even rigging it to make it level. Moved all my plants back inside and kitchen table with glass top was put back where it belongs. Eric was all packed up, realizing the switch plate covers had been forgotten to be painted, and insisted he'd paint them. I had to reassure him I didn't expect that to be done. He wanted to do it but, I wouldn't let him. They were great all around and I couldn't be happier!

He provided me with updates as it came closer to time and arrived with a crew to complete the job in one day. Pleased with the service and workmanship performed. Use protective coverings in areas to prevent paint forming on surfaces. Also did some repair work for me on the side garage door frame. Would recommend them and would hire again. BP

*Update to review. HPO has been in contact with me regarding the issues noted in this review and has made things right. When they knew the work was going to start, they come out and power-wash the entire work area, this was done a few days ahead of the work. Then a crew came out to start the work a team of about 3-4 people to start then it went down to a 2 person crew to finish the job. They sanded, scraped, primed the work area and replaced the posts that were rotted. The work was done Thurs/Friday and needed to be carried over until the following Monday. The job took 3 full days to complete. The paint job and prep was done pretty well. I had one problem with they paint job itself. One area appeared to not be fully coated, meaning I could see brush marks and the old paint or surface under the new paint in spots. This is on the front of our home. When I brought this to their attention (The morning after the job was complete. The job was finished when it was dark and I could not see the work) I was told the quote was for one coat of paint and to come back to add another coat to that area it would be another $75. I was also told that they added two coats in other areas even though the quote was for one. While I appreciate that they did that, isn't it their job to get the quote right in the first place? I have no clue if the home needed one coat or two, that's why I hire a professional and got a quote. So somehow they made me feel like they did me a favor by adding more paint and that they went above and beyond. Instead it made me feel like they didn't quote correctly and a very visible area of my home was not done fully. If areas needed more than one coat to get the job done correctly, tell me. Ring the doorbell, they knew I was home and could have informed me. Here's where I was really not thrilled with the professionalism: - They left a sweatshirt draped over my neighbors fence, over the weekend - Trash on the side of my home (cups of coffee and pop) This really upset me, this is my home. - Did not put items back where they were, planters, decor on my steps etc. (left items in my front yard for me to put back) - Placed home address back on post CROOKED. They explained that one screw would not be able to be put back on our 7 because it was stripped. I said to put the numbers back up anyway and we will replace the one screw. When I noticed all of our numbers were not up properly, they said I was informed about one screw which would account for one number being crooked. Then told me another screw could not be replaced and they could come back and fix this if I wanted them to. Even the number that has both screws is not up straight. A screw is sticking out of that number and it simply is poor quality. Again this is on the front of our home. I get that we signed up to have the work done during a busy season, and the daylight savings didn't help with time. I don't think I am in the wrong to expect things to done right and well. Or for my personal items to be placed back to where they were, how they were, at least close to how they were. When I ask a professional to provide a quote it's because I can't do the work myself and I want it to be done well and right. It's their job to figure out how that needs to be done. In the end I did not agree to have them come back out to add another coat of paint because it will cost me more money on top of the $2100 I already spent. When I brought a few of these issues to their attention, their explanations for them only left me to fee like I was in the wrong and it was somehow my fault. That's not a good feeling as a customer. Reading through all of the other great reviews, I feel bad even writing a bad one. Maybe the busy season might have affected the quality for this particular job, I don't know. A little advice to HPO, do a walk around the home to make sure items are put back, inform the customer if additional work has to be done above and beyond the quote. For the reasons above, I can't recommend them and would not ask them for another quote.

Eric and team did an outstanding job.

This was a last minute ask as we noticed some old drywall water damage the day before a planned house full of guests. Eric provided his crack dry wall expert to come in and patch a very difficult inside corner joint. When he was finished which included primer and painting, you couldn't tell there was ever an issue.

Mr. Hahn was timely, efficient, communicative, cleaned up afterwards with no residual mess. When asked to do additional repairs he was very willing to do so without hesitation. I would definitely recommend him to other people. He did a great job.....I was very happy with his work! Bonnie Martin

Eric was in regular contact with us before and throughout the project. He and his staff were very neat and cleaned up each day. They did a beautiful job and took time to answer all our questions. They were very careful of the landscaping and did not spatter or spill stain on anything. The workmanship is topnotch. I definitely would use HPO Painting again.

Eric, the owner was courteous and apparently worked hard to get a crew in within the month time limit I asked during the busy season but then some things went from wrong to very wrong. An issue I had was that the length of time the work would take was drastically underestimated. I am not sure how much Eric had used the two-person team that he sent to do the interior work. One of the two seemed very skilled and professional about his work. They took a full 11 days to paint 75% of the above ground interior of our house. Granted, there were some challenging aspects to the work needed (20 foot ceilings, some non-structural cracks to patch, etc.) but it shouldn't have taken so long - everyone I know agreed. Overall the finished work was excellent in terms of quality (except one minor issue that the owner willingly and quickly resolved). In short, quality work is what you can expect at a fair price but during the busy season, it may take longer than you thought.
