Tried to use this company to repair an issue that previous owner of new house reported. They insisted that we pay another $170 dollar diagnosis fee for them to come back out to the house and re diagnose the exact same issues that previous owners had the company diagnose (diagnosis was done about a year and a half ago). The fact that this company wants to charge to come out and reevaluate the EXACT SAME ISSUE that was previously diagnosed by the same company is completely absurd. I finally got them to provide me a quote (that included the $170 service fee) and they increased the price 140% from the prior quote noting parts and labor increases. I can understand a moderate increase due to the old quote being a year and a half old but 140% is completely insane and goes to show that the goal of this company is to not honor prior quotes (or even increase prior quote to accurately account for inflation, not 140%) but to nickel and dime their customers and squeeze every penny they can out of them all while providing horrible customer service and bad attitudes on the phone. Do not go with this company, I would recommend one of the multiple other companies available to service your appliances.

It was great working with this company. Scheduling was easy and Dave arrived at my home in a very timely manner. He was terrific. He took apart my over the range microwave and determined that it could not be repaired because the necessary piece of equipment was no longer made (the microwave is from 2001.) Without me asking him to do so, he went online and showed me some similar microwaves that would fit the space. He also opened my dishwasher and looked inside (again unprompted.) He told me I was using too much detergent (way too much!) and recommended the type I should be using. He also told me how to clean the interior and fished out some broken glass from the mechanism at the bottom. I will definitely do what he said and will save money in the process! Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely hire this company again.

Called this company after finding out that ABI could not come out to assess the problem for two weeks. Appliance Marshal Repair was able set a home appointment with me within two days. Brian, the service rep. showed up early and found the problem within 10 minutes. Ordered the part need the next day. Will contact me when the part comes in to schedule a another appointment.

DO NOT USE!!! They only temporarily fix problems only to have the problem reappear again. They will not honor there service warranty. They will flat out tell you no after you pay them! The rep that answers the phone is the most rudest person I’ve ever spoken to. She answers phones for a living but yet you would think she is in charge of the free world with her attitude.

Excellent service & real "know how!" Very professional and extremely competent, Marshall Repair also demonstrates honesty and innovation. The ice maker is working good as new! Due to a tight backsplash beneath the microwave, ABT was reluctant to install the brand new unit we purchased from them. I started searching for tile cutter, then thought to call Marshall. After removing the old microwave in pieces, Marshall professionally installed the new unit without disturbing the tile/backsplash. This team is top-notch! We understand their specialty is also dishwasher repair.

Terrible. Complete waste of my time. I told the guy that the scenario he conjectured never happened and further that not only was it inaccurate but unverifiable. Never again!
Description of Work: In spite of the last review and thei response I feel compelled to correct their reply. The problem IS NOT an installation issue. . The appliance Marshall guy on his first visit blamed the problem on a leaky drain hose. On the second visit he blamed a countertop that I had custom made to fit the dishwasher. He just didn't know how to fix it. No matter how they respond DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE!!!!

Sir, the issue you reference is most certainly due to water coming down ONTO the dishwasher from above and could IN NO WAY be the responsibility of either our technician OR the dishwasher manufacturer. Our technician was forward thinking enough to have taken pictures of the situation, therefore, we are able to verify these facts visually. Your custom countertop is not supported on one side and that side of the dishwasher is exposed which is why the water was able to leak onto and seep into the electronics of the unit. The problem CAN be repaired, but the financial responsibility for said repair lies with you, not the manufacturer or the technician. The problem will recur if you do not correct the issue that was undoubtedly the cause of your problem. **ADDITIONALLY** *Angie's List Personnel* - this is a duplication of Mr. [Member Name Removed]'s same ONE TIME NON SERVICED review and should NOT be posted as separate from his 3/3/17 submission. We have NOT & will NOT return to this person's home.

While we are sorry that this is your situation, we clearly did not cause it. There is no question that the water draining on to your unit is what obviously caused the problem. Water leaves marks that show where it has been. Obviously, you are free to follow up with the manufacturer of your dishwasher, they know about the problem and what we found.

This is the second time I've used Appliance Marshall Repair. They again blew me away with their very personalized service, their professionalism and the quality of their work. I was not as descriptive with the issue as I should have been, but the technician was able to quickly determine what was wrong and make the needed repair. Service took longer than expected since technician was not proficient with tools. And then they told me it'll take weeks to get the parts in to fix the appliance. At the end, decided to just purchase a new range instead of getting it fixed.

Of course this happened just as I was leaving town, so I made arrangments while I was out of town for Appliance Marshall Repair to come to my house on my first day home after my trip. They were very accommodating. I scheduled the date and requested the service window be after 9:30am. They were happy to comply, and confirmed my appointment and time window the day prior. As promised, the service person (David) called prior to his arrival at my house. He was on time, very nice and professional, and got to work immediately examining my dryer. He found the source of the fire (in an electrical component), but also found that the belt and door hinges were soon to be a problem. He didn't have the replacement parts on his truck, but since the dryer was nearly ten years old, and the repairs/parts would cost nearly $500, I opted to simply purchase a new dryer. David accepted my Angie's List coupon for 10% off the service call. I was very happy with the company, with David, and my experience overall, and would definitely use Appliance Marshall Repair again.
Description of Work: My clothes dryer started smoking (the fire department had to come!), and it did not appear to be the result of lint in the trap or the vent, so I needed someone to come inspect my dryer and determine the cause.

Wonderful. These guys really knew their stuff. The owner had extensive knowledge of history for the all sorts of different type of appliances - new and old. Great job!
Description of Work: The lower oven of my older Kitchenaid double oven was not working. The owner and his partner had to completely move the oven out of the wall to get to the back of it. Turns out, the oven had to be re-set. They checked all other areas to verify nothing else needed to be addressed.

It is a shame you wanted service but were not willing to pay for it and that you are now posting reviews with false information. You requested service in a different town than what your review shows. Dave from Appliance Marshall arrived at the designated time of 5:30 to determine the reason that our fairly new GE Hydrowave washer was not completing its wash/rinse cycles. He removed the front panel and ran a very thorough battery of tests on the washer and its various parts. After spending about 3 hours of testing, he gave us his diagnosis and estimated costs for parts and labor. In the end, we decided that it would be in our best interest to invest in a brand new washer. We were impressed with Dave's professionalism. He seemed to be very knowledgeable as well as personable. We appreciated that he took his time to determine the problem and in providing us with a fair assessment of the required costs. We were very satisfied with this service call and would not hesitate to use them again in the future!

Marshall was courteous, punctual, and explained everything thoroughly. He really is an expert on these appliances. He repaired the convection elements and hinges on our double oven as well as the evaporator on our fridge and ice bin in the freezer, along with other minor things like clock and light bulbs. Our appliances are running perfectly and Marshall informed us that they should last for another 15-20 years. The repair was a great investment. He even dropped by a few days early to add more freon to our fridge to make it through the weekend before he came to repair it.

We have 2 dishdrawers and the top dishdrawer was leaking water. Upon inspection Dave said that it would cost us about 650$ just for parts to fix the leak and change the motor on both dishdrawers. So he suggested to instead buy a new one which makes sense. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the bottom dishdrawer so I could have kept using just the bottom one. By the time he was done he had messed up my bottom dishdrawer and its not working as well. While trying to diagnose the leak for the top dishdrawer the water went below the bottom dishdrawer it seems and flood indicator is now on and now my working bottom dishdrawer is also not functioning. So not only did he charge me 100$ for the top dishdrawer to fix nothing he also broke my bottom dishdrawer and went without any promises of fixing it. So now I have to buy one dishwasher urgently which I could have easily postponed working on only one dishdrawer. I will never call them again.

We are sorry to hear of your disappointment. We are also sorry that you did not to call our office to report your displeasure and/or discuss your situation. As is indicated on the estimate you were left, both units were having issues, while the bottom unit wasn't visibly acting up yet, it was not operating properly upon arrival. Our technician diagnosed the unit properly and indicated on his paperwork, that both your upper and lower units have worn lids (causing leaks), and have worn motors, as well as lid actuators which prevent the lids from pulling tight and sealing properly. He also stated that it needs the main control board. The situation existed prior to our tech arriving, he did not cause the failure of your dishwasher. The parts were worn from years of use. Our technician went through proper testing procedures. It was necessary to power down the unit, as can be verified by F & P. After having followed factory protocol, we stand behind our technician's finding. You only paid for diagnosis as the cost of repairs on your 12 year old machine exceeds the value of the unit at it's age. We are sorry to we had to be the bearer of bad news, but rest assured, we are not the cause of it.

It turns out my daughter had overloaded the dryer and stretched the belt. Stretching the belt caused a belt break sensor to stop the motor from running (safety feature to prevent damage to the motor or a fire). Marshall was able to accurately diagnose the issue over the phone - and gave me a very accurate estimate for repair. He responded within a few days (it was Christmas and his schedule was full) and was able to do a complete overhaul on my dryer (replace the belt, reset the sensor and disassemble all of the major components to vacuum/clean out all of the accumulated lint). It was very clear he was familiar with my dryer, and worked very quickly/efficiently. I actually paid less than I'd been quoted - which made me exceptionally happy. I highly recommend Appliance Marshall Repair.

The oven would start to heat up & then shut itself down. First the tech told me he could get a replacement control board for 500.00. Called me later and said he could not obtain a new control board but could repair it for 500.00. I guess he was just trying to find my price point. Isolating a problem on a 20 yr old control board would not be worth that amount of money as something else could go wrong, it is after all, a 20yr old board. 95.00 was a lot of money for that result. Decided to buy a new oven.

Marshall was honest and accurate and diagnosed our problem over the phone. He had worked on the same machine days prior and was familiar with it. His employee was respectful and personable. Shortly after the repair we knocked the machine out of balance (it has adjustable legs we didn't know about). Marshall came back himself to set the machine at no additional cost.

Excellent Service! I left a message on a Saturday morning and received a return call first thing Monday morning. The customer service person on the phone was very professional and was able to schedule my service quickly. The service technician, David, who came to investigate my problem was punctual, polite and quickly found the problem. A part had to be ordered and within a week my freezer was up and running again. Very well. For the dishwasher, he could have ordered a replacement part which would have required a more lengthy wait plus part, but instead knew right away about the most likely problem (which we'd found via Google) and was able to do the fix with an on-site solder. So far so good. Oven was a lower priority, and he thought he had an easy fix which would have been cheap and easy. Unfortunately, it only worked on two of three malfunctioning burners. The third one was damaged in the process (worse than before) and required a repair (before they were malfunctioning, now they had to be repaired). If we'd known it would require a costly repair, we would have lived with the malfunctioning version rather than attempting the cheaper repair option. Marshall cut us a break on the labor cost on the full repair and we now have a fully functioning cooktop. He wisely counseled us to let our microwave, washer, and dryer die a peaceful death. For the oven, we had previously had another repairman out to diagnose it under a (piece of garbage totally useless) home warranty. He advised that we had a sensor problem and a control board problem and that both were no longer available and so could not be repaired. He recommended replacing (the high-end double-oven). Not only did Marshall know of a place that locally rebuilds these circuit boards, but he found the ultimate source of the problem. Our oven is now working WAY better than it did when we bought the house. Very pleased with the service. He had to come back a few times because we made our decisions in sequence, but he was always back within 3-10 days, and was professional, neat and friendly (as was the office). Definitely recommend.

Did not feel like he was trying to upsell us or gain more - just trying to make us satisfied with an appliance that will last long enough to warrant the repair price.
