Arcadia Painting Plus

Don't know. Don't recall. I am only doing this review because Angie's List continually badgers me to do this review without giving me the option to say "I don't recall." So, not wanting to badmouth anyone, I gave good scores. But I frankly have no idea.

Only answered one phone call, did not return multiple emails or phone calls, had to have Angie's List refund the Big Deal offer.

The provider came to my house to see where the painting was to be done. And, subsequently kept not being able to come on the date agreed to. The "deal" was cancelled and all money refunded.

Sherry was able to schedule drywall repair and painting for us in just a few days to meet our fast turnaround to allow our room to be painted for a party. We decided on colors and provided them to the local Sherwin Williams ahead of time. On painting day, the crew led by Trevor, showed up on time with supplies, paint and were very courteous. Room that was painted was large bonus room with vaulted ceilings and skylights. The room is 31? x 11?. The final paint job looks amazing with grey walls, white ceiling and slight off-white woodwork and trim. The painted areas looked good with NO signs of paint brush marks. The edges from the wall to the ceiling (gray to white boundary) was super straight, which is impressive. I asked crew to apply more paint to one area and they were happy to apply more paint at my convenience. Sherry, my main contact, was super easy to get ahold of via text or telephone and was very responsive and courteous. I left the painting crew along in my house to finish b/c I had to leave for work, and they cleaned up and closed up the house well. Overall, I was very happy with the experience and believe it was a good value given I had other competitive quotes. Most importantly, the quality of the paint job was professional?much better than if I did it or hired a handyman to paint. I definitely recommend Arcadia for painting and have asked them for a quote for additional work to drywall and paint a room in my basement.

They painted my kitchen, entrance way, and part of my dining room. They did a great job I was very satisfied.

Arcadia never showed. Phone conversation was sparse to non existent. Thanks Angie's List for the recommendation! That will likely be the last Big Deal I purchase.

I want to start off by saying that the final product was good and I was pleased. But getting to that point was not as easy as I would hope. It was difficult to get in touch with the owner. There was frequent rescheduling. Overall just not very professional from a business standpoint. But the work was good, and they were very helpful with suggestions and making improvements on site.

I called Sherry last Monday (12/18/13) and explained about the crack on my living room ceiling. She said she would get back to me about coming over one evening during the week. I didn't hear back from her and left a voice mail on Saturday. She did respond back that she would come over yesterday. I never heard back. and she never showed up.

This is a re-review. Initially, all went very well. They helped us select paint, some delay in the actual start but some of that was due to weather. Job was done very well. About 6 months after, I found 2 spots of peeling paint and under one was some rotted wood that should have been replaced the first time through. I called Shari and her response was we'll fix it. It took several calls from me to get her to come out. She said no problem but it might take some time since the summer was so busy. I began calling her at least monthly if not every 2 weeks, getting from her false promises that its on her list and will get done. After a half-dozen calls, I sent her an email again asking when it would be completed and never heard back from them. This went on throughout the whole summer and fall until I just had to give up. Very frustrating, considering the rest of their work was well done.

The timing didn't work out. Arcadia was good about taking calls and telling me honestly that she had too much work to get to my house this year. Angie's List people were superb. I never felt like I would not get my money back.Looking forward to an experience where the work actually gets completed.

Painter arrived on time with timely call backs. A previous painter never called us back and was difficult to schedule. Arcadia/Sherry stepped in and helped us get our painting done in time for a June renter who loved the paint job.

It didn't. They responded after the purchase, asking for three dates. I provided the dates as requested, and never heard anything past that point. Then went back to Help Desk for their help. Basically, no one has heard from the provider. The problem was, I had tried since July to get the house painted before winter. Now that is not possible.

I had a time trying to get her out to the house to do an estimate. It was a long time before she would type up an estimate. Then I asked her if she would do extra work and she said yes. But when it came to the end of the project she wanted to charge me more, only wanted cash, and didn't have a receipt. I noticed afterward that the job wasnt completely finished and she never came back to fix it. Before this she had started work on my second home and then came back with a higher quote then estimated but I still wanted the work done. She didnt end up doing the job because she never would get back to me.

I bought the service on an Angie's list promotion in June. It was wet this summer. Therefore, they could not fulfill the service promptly. Once I contacted them, I understood the problem. Once they were able to catch up, they painted the house very quickly, in 1.5 days. I had, though, to call them to get my house numbers back. They had removed the house numbers to keep from painting them, but I had to call to get them back. It was an OK paint job at a great price.

She has been very unresponsive. She made an appointment and didn't complete it. She's offering a promotion that she cannot meet the demands of. Her last excuse was "I just don't have time". This is what the service provider told me when I called to schedule the appointment this last time.

Purchasing the deal was the easiest part of the process - the deal was purchased on July 13, 2012. Once the deal was purchased it took me several phone calls to get Sherry to call me back. We finally scheduled a date for her to come out to do an estimate, and on the day she was supposed to come out her truck broke down and she had to reschedule. On the second attempt (a month and a half after I purchased the deal on September 1, 2012) Sherry showed, measured and gave me an estimate that was more that $4000 more than the Big Deal purchased, so I requested that we schedule painting for May 1st, 2013 so that I had time to save the additional funds. Because of some other housing repairs I asked in April of 2013 if we could reschedule to the beginning of July and Sherry said she had an opening on July 8, 2013. I heard nothing again - no requests for colors or confirmation of date. On July 7th I emailed Sherry and asked if they would be out to start the job the next day. She replied on July 8th and said that they were running 2-3 weeks behind because of the rain, which at the time seemed reasonable to me. However, that is the last time I've heard from Sherry. I have gotten no response since then as to an updated date, or even an acknowledgement when I notified her that I would be contracting with a different provider because of lack of communication and the fact that the painting season is almost over and I still have no idea when Arcadia would be coming out to start the job. That is the point when I contact Angie's List customer service regarding a refund of the Big Deal that was purchased.

The price is low in large because we used an Angie's List big deal so that really helped us save on this job. First let me say that once the work started the team was fantastic. They do really great work and their attention to detail is extremely high. They show up on time and are very professional. The work was great and we are very pleased with it. The only negative is the scheduling and communication leading up to the work. They are very busy and at times it was difficult to get accurate info around when our job could start. My advice would be to use them if what you care most about is the end result. If you need a job done fast or need very accurate info about when your job can start maybe call them but be prepared for some confusion around scheduling. We fully plan to use them again for some interior work so you know that we were happy. Basically if you can be flexible about start date then call them asap. If not you should still call but know the scheduling might be a challenge.

I can not say enough about Sherry and her crew. I will continue to work with them on all our projects. They worked around my schedule. Came out and did above and beyond! They worked fast and great, cleaned up after themselves. I would recommend them to anyone looking for any amount of painting. And if there is something else you need done ask them. Sherry is , by far, the best drywaller I have ever seen:)

Due to wet summer we had; it has been a delay in scheduling; It is fully understandable; Sherry, the owner has been communicating with me with rescheduling and the outcome went well; The staffs were very professional. Even they came back on Sunday to finish the project. I am happy with the outcome and will do definitely business with Arcadia Painting. Thank you

Sherry is great. The weather put our schedule behind quite a bit but the wait was worth. Her crew was professional and did a quality job.

I called on a Wednesday morning and left a message. I received a call back Saturday afternoon. Sherry set up a time on Wednesday night after 6:00 to come and give me an estimate to paint my kitchen. She said she would be there between 6-7. She never showed up or called. Very unprofessional and I would never recommend anybody who conducted there business this way.

Angie's list charged my credit card $1299.00 on 4/23/2013. Arcadia called me on the 24th for estimating the total outside area to be painted and to get a sample of paint(if we happen to have a sample). Arcadia owner came in the following day(approximately, an hour late) and that was my first mistake. Cutting a bit of slack for Arcadia. I just do not believe in wasting my time trying to get work done through 'less than professionals' - my experience has been, they cost you more money and deliver less than decent quality work. Arcadia owner took a few measurements and told us that our paint required are come within the covered area in her contract an we gave her an almost empty can on the paint used when the house was built. We were told that our house will be painted during the third week of the following month and the date will be confirmed later. The third week of May came and no word from Arcadia. I called only to be told that the following Sunday my house will be painted. Power washing of the house is part of the contract and how could power wash and paint on the same day in a not so warm weather. Her response was let me worry about that. May 19th came and no Arcadia painting - sent an e-mail asking for an explanation. As expected no response. Sometime during the last week of May, Angie's List big projects group left a message on my telephone asking me to contact them. When I called for the first and last time, got a person who understood clearly the role of Angie's List Big Projects - not just drive progress of these projects but more importantly, get them completed as per the wishes of the customer. After all, Arcadia is just an agent who gets the work done on behalf of Angie's List not the other way around. If Angie's List believes that it is simply an agent of Arcadia, then it should not have charged my credit card. The gentleman asked me if there was any progress on my project and if there is anything at all that I need with regard to the project, they are there to help in any way they can. Since your project has only been in the pipeline for only five weeks, I urge you to give them another week to get the job done. At the end of six weeks depending on what you wish us to do, return the money or get somebody else to get the job done. Coming weekend - next weekend - following weekend - in between 30 minutes of handheld power washing of the exterior surface to be painted. Changed tune of Angie's List Big Projects Group - due to rain Arcadia has lot of work backed up - Arcadia has already done some work as part of this project and this certainly makes returning of funds difficult. Angie's List Big Projects Group, could you give me the name of another business organization whose members are trained to put it in writing the above statements after keeping the customer's money for over four months. August 20, 2013 - Big Projects informed me that Arcadia will be painting my house on the coming Sunday. Arcadia called me on the 21st to inform me that a crew will be at my house on the Sunday the 25th between 9:30 - 10:00 AM. Sunday, at 10:05 AM I called Arcadia to find out If we should wait for Arcadia - as expected, tomorrow the 26th at 9:30 AM, we will be there. August 26, 2013 - time 10:20 AM and no Arcadia Painting and no call from Arcadia, and I decided to not to call Arcadia ever again.

It was fine. They originally scheduled for it in July, my husband happened to call the night before the painting and found out that they weren’t coming and no one called us. They rescheduled us for the last week and again my husband called the Friday before and they were rude to him. My husband stayed home they day they were supposed to show up and no one showed up, so he called and they said they couldn’t make it that day and he had already taken off from work that day. So there was a lot of scheduling conflicts. Once they got here, the people that showed up were fine but the communication wasn’t the greatest. The work was fine but the inconvenience was not good.

All went exceptionally well with the exception of the porch rails which could have been scraped better. Painters were highly professional, courteous and attentive in all other areas.

Purchased a big deal for painting the house. Company did not call me so I called them. I made arrangements with a lady to come out and "measure" the house the following week. She did not show up and follow up calls were not returned. It is over two months and I have not heard from this company at all regarding the missed appointment or the prepaid big deal of $1299. I was called by Angie's List to rate this company but never contacted by the company. After reading reviews left about this company regarding the poor communication and contractor using homeowners tools I am requesting a refund. I use Angie's list to avoid these types of issues. 8-26-2013 We did get a quote today from this company. It was for $9299. We will not be using them. Apparently the big deal was only for one coat of primer or paint up to 1600 feet. It does not include any other services such as prep or top coat. 8/26/2013 they submitted a new estimate there was a mix up in jobs. It was $5599 which is still about $1600 above what we would pay.
