Description of Work: We used them 3 times in the last 6 months. Originally rented a pod which they helped load. Then just recently helped move from one side of Glen Ellyn to the other. Deadly with Judy is a pleasure. They are probably a little more expensive, but they didn't damage any walls or furniture. I would definitely use them again

This was an interstate move. Items from our home in Naperville, IL were loaded into a 53 foot truck, and the contents of a storage unit at Glen Ellyn Moving and Storage Facility in Carol Stream were unloaded into the 53 foot truck. The 53 foot truck traveled from Naperville, IL to Tulsa, OK. The renting of the storage container and the loading of the storage container was excellent. The unloading of items from our home and from the storage unit could have been more organized if the driver had come with the paperwork and been upfront with us. His mantra throughout the process was he had another load that had to be delivered to Texas. We filed a claim for damaged artwork and the company denied our claim; never followed up with us; took the word of the driver, and accused us of switching tags. For a company that has been in business since 1927 (Mayflower joined Unigroup, Inc. in 1995), and claim on their website to take pride in the tradition of quality service, we find that to be untrue. Caution to anyone who is doing an interstate move utilizing Unigroup, Inc., Mayflower Transit or United Van Lines. You will NOT be treated fairly for any damage claim.
Description of Work: First we had rented a SAM container and we were able to hire two workers to load that container. We paid a monthly fee within a climate controlled area. Then for our interstate move we had a crew come and wrap the furniture and pack everything. The contents in our SAM container were then loaded onto the truck. After arriving to our new home, everything was unloaded however, not EVERYTHING had been set up, as the DRIVER INSISTED he had to deliver what was remaining on his truck to Texas in 3 hours!. We were NEVER given an opportunity to check all boxes and items listed on the Inventory that the driver prepared; nor we were given an opportunity to note any damage to furniture or boxes. Luckily our vintage and antique furniture arrived in the same shape as it left in. We had paid for extra insurance due to the number of vintage and antique furniture pieces plus original one of a kind oil paintings that were being transported. We had eight plus "mirror type boxes" containing framed wall mirrors and original one of a kind oil paintings in the storage container. One of those boxes was damaged while in transit and never brought to our attention by the driver when the truck was unloaded. At the time of loading (removing items from the storage unit, the driver had noted on the inventory that two of those boxes had holes, but had never brought it to our attention even though we were present during the unloading and loading). The damaged artwork box had a different tag number than the two boxes that the driver had noted. We filed a claim; provided pictures and values and the company after almost two months disregarded our claim and insisted that the boxes damaged were the same ones the driver had noted on the inventory. The adjuster never once spoke with us nor asked any questions but claims to have spoken to the driver who no longer drives for the company. We requested that the corporate office process the claim and our claim was once again denied. They were virtually accusing us of switching tags, which is as far from the truth. The tag number in question was 298 and the tag numbers of the two boxes noted with holes by the driver were 182 and 183. We are stuck with two original one of a kind oil paintings (artist passed away a couple of years ago) and have very few options left.
