Due to water damage from an ice dam, I had to have the walls and ceiling replaced as well as insulation. Since 90% of the bathroom had to be redone I decided to modernize everything, Vanity, Sink, Toilet, Shower, Ceiling Fan. Mike's start date was suppose to be Wednesday 4-2-14 but called 3-31 and said was starting on 4-1. I told him it was not ready yet I still had Demo and plumbing to get done. Mike said that was okay he could work around that, and wanted to get started with the ceiling and where there was no plumbing. Even though his contract says remove old ceiling fan and install new one, He screws in the housing for the new ceiling fan and then tells me he does not do electric (said nothing about that prior to this point). The above section "What did the provider do" is word for word what he put on the contract. After I get the electric hooked up, he put in the new ceiling drywall and says there was nothing wrong we the insulation, so he did not change it. He also hung some drywall on the walls and started to tape, even though there was more to be done before he could finish hanging the drywall and complete the finish tape and prime. He returns on Wednesday after I had the Shower enclosure installed and plumbing done to finish hanging drywall and tape. When he did this he added a 2X4 and layer of drywall on the corner of the shower enclosure to make it easier for himself to tape the corner. I also told him I had the Hardibacker underlayment for the floor, when we discussed what he would do he said he would put down Durock and tile and grout, but per him his contract says "install tile and grout on floor" nothing about underlayment. It is like the electric for the ceiling fan, the term install ceiling fan should include the electric and making it functional, just like installing tile should include the proper underlayment. I guess it is my fault for not making sure what he said, was in writing. Wednesday night I installed the Hardibacker and while installing, discovered the extra 2x4 and layer of drywall on the corner would not allow the toilet tank to fit, being off by 1 1/2". Thursday morning his worker shows up to finish taping but because of weather it was not dry enough yet to put the top coat on, he calls Mike to let him know and leaves. Friday morning they show up and I tell Mike the corner he put in had to be taken out in order for the toilet to fit. He tells me he was not changing the corner and it was my problem because I was responsible for the rough in of the shower enclosure, even though he is the one who added the extra 2x4. He then tells me he does not have time to fix it and would finish what he was contracted for and I could get someone else to fix the corner. I told him I was not going to do this that way and not going to let him leave something half assed, since it was my house and I was paying the bill I would not pay him. He then proceeded to get right in my face and tell me "I am going to Hurt You". I said so now you want to try and intimidate me. He then said he would rip out all the drywall he installed since I had not paid for it, even though I had paid a $300.00 deposit. At this point my only concern was to get him and his helper out of my house without damage or harm. I told him I would pay him for the drywall but not the tile since he did nothing for the tile. I wrote him a check and made sure he marked the contract paid in full. Besides being extremely unprofessional he is extremely filthy, and can not even read a ruler, he cut a hole for an electric outlet and even with the cover on there is at least 1/4" gap from edge of cover to drywall (picture attached). He cut 2 holes for the water to the faucet in the sink and bent the copper pipe to fit in the hole because it was in the wrong place. He dumped joint compound down my toilet which I had to clean out before it clogged my sewer line (picture attached). He left chunks of drywall in my front lawn, and joint compound all over my driveway and garage floor. I do not know how this guy stays in business operating this way, I can only hope I never see him again, and if Angie's list sends him this review, he does not show up and cause damage to my property or person or my wife, he is a dangerous person. If he shows up I will not answer the door and I will call the Police.

left an undesired film on the wood steps that required our effort to clean after the workers left. In February, Mike was paid with the exception of an agreed upon $275 which was to be paid upon completion. Within several months, a crack reappeared in the cathedral ceiling. All obvious nail pops, that were present at the start of the work and repaired by the painters, reappeared as well. The drywall around the recessed lights had been improperly cut and the fixture trim did not cover the exposure (see picture). In November, Mike returned for the final 10% work. He arrived with a worker and assessed the work to be completed. Within 15 minutes, he left saying that he s not doing this . (He apparently realized that the amount withheld was insufficient to cover the final work. He left the job and never returned. He left us to finish repairing the nail pops, ceiling crack and the drywall around the canned lights in addition to the touch up that he had originally agreed to).
Description of Work: We contracted Mike's Creative Touch to paint the master bath room, bedroom, closets and hallway. Of particular concern was the painting of the bathroom s 15 cathedral ceiling, and the woodwork of 3 skylight frames and 5 doors. The cost to re-drywall a portion of the cathedral ceiling was to be determined after the electricians finished their work. The initial portion of the job was completed in February. After other contractors were finished, Mike returned in November to complete the remaining work. The first portion of the job went OK. Mike and his workers arrived timely. Mike evaluated the drywall needs and quoted a price of $700 to re-drywall the 8 x 12 portion of the ceiling around the new electric fixtures and 5 additional holes. This seemed high. Before finishing, Mike begrudgingly corrected areas brought to his attention. Unappreciated was Mike washing his brushes in the bathroom sink rather than the utility room sink. The clean-up of drywall dust with water,

To begin with told when he was coming not asking what would work for us and them to do the work. Was rude and argumentative from the beginning, with wrong color and poor paint brand. We paid for paint not him, this is our house. Sanding dust left all over floor and furniture because he did not cover properly. Yes paint was applied to ceiling and walls as well as floor, carpeting, railings and furniture which he does not cover properly. Stated he does no cleanup after sanding or painting, that he was a professional and does not need to do that. The paint in carpeting we had to hire cleaners to remove, paint and dust on furniture and floors, we are still trying to get out. Requested 2nd coat of paint on bedroom wall, charge extra $250 to do, this is a small 12 x 10 room. We had to call him back to fix crack in ceiling that the patch job was showing. He said we should have seen before he left, now who is the professional who does not check their work. Use only if you like to clean.
Description of Work: Mike was to do minor crack repair in family room, kitchen and lower bathroom with touch paint. Make necessary repairs where needed, apply paint on ceilings in foyer, lining-dining room, hallway and bedroom with ceiling paint and paint to walls to be determined, as we purchased all the paint required.
