Hard to judge what a repair like this should have costed without a way to validate the price was fair. The repair was very expensive but I have no idea if that was reasonable. Rather than home advisor Angie being a lead generation for contractors they should really help people understand what is fair price for these repairs You don't do a good job here. Otherwise I had a really good experience with this company

I would give them a perfect FIVE in all categories. I donâ t agree with Angi arbitrarily giving my rankings as a 4.5. I donâ t appreciate that! They were knowledgeable, friendly, clean, and took videos of everything outside & inside to show me before I gave them permission to do the work. Iâ d hire them again!

Anthony and crew took great pride in stalling a fire island upon discovery that my log fireplace was damaged.They also took picture of roof damage from an animal intruder while cleaning the dryer vents. They provided a thorough report and did an excellent job. I have already called them back for a second year cleaning. Highly recommend.

Bait and switch...100 dollars to show up to quote a job. I hired them to do the job, and never heard back from them. When I forced their hand, they quoted a price 3 times what I could do the job for myself, which I did. I asked for 1/2 my money back, they laughed at me. Now they call me once a week trying to sell me chimney cleanings and fireplace inspections. Now I am laughing at them. Do not get burned by this company. May be knowledgeable in fireplace ops, but neither knowledge nor professional in the area of customer service.

Great guys! They showed up on time and got right to work on my chimney inspection. As I assumed, being a 60yr old house, work needed to be done. To my surprise, they came prepared and had everything they needed to get my chimney in working order and up to code. I was really impressed that as they found extra issues, above the originally quoted ones, that they would show me pictures and explain the issue/risk of not fixing vs. the cost and allow me to make the call. No pressure whatsoever. Will absolutely recommend

They did a great job cleaning and getting our gas fire place ready. We hadn t used it in 5 years and never had it inspected. They were thorough and affordable.

They did call a couple of hours before their estimated arrival time, but that was okay because we were home. They looked at everything and told us the fireplace was working just fine. Our questions were answered and we were pleased with the outcome. Very professional and friendly, would definitely use them again.

Very friendly and easy to talk to. Came on time. They brought their own shoe covers and tarp to ensure no mess was left behind, which I appreciated. Will use again even though I had to wait about a week for an appointment. They were worth it.

The fireplace never worked this well!!!! I realize now that it required service a long time ago. It's heating most of the house right now. The technician -- Guy -- was absolutely qualified. 45 minutes later he had the unit up and running.

I have had a cast iron fireplace insert for over 25 years. My husband and I, when we were younger, cleaned our own chimney, so I know the process and how long it takes. A-1 arrived at 1:46 pm and left at 2:16 pm. When they arrived I was told they would have to go up on the roof in order to clean my chimney. The last company I had to clean the chimney did the work from inside. I let them go up on the roof and I really did not watch them work because I had another contractor doing work at my house. They were coming down the stairs and I asked if they were done, and he told me yes. I asked if they vacuumed the chimney from inside, and he told me no, it was only ashes, and he would have had to take the cap off my insert. He seemed in a hurry to go and had my papers ready to sign and to get his payment. I am not even sure if they cleaned my chimney. He showed me some pictures on his phone regarding the lining in my chimney, and he said he would email me the pictures. I never got the email. He was polite enough but I got the feeling that he did not feel it necessary to talk to a female about how he performs his work and that I got a deal for the price. I would not have them come back to my house.

After reading all the reviews I decided to go with them and I’m glad I did. They were on time, very clean and thoughtful. Took their time in the inspection from top to bottom. Pictures were taken to show me what was going on and they found the upper half was new from the previous owners and the only thing that needed to be done was to clean the cobwebs out. Outside I did need a new cover due to rusting from it being years old which I new. They didn’t try to sell me on something I didn’t need ! I would highly recommend this company !!!!!!

2 guys came in to look at the job ,one used the shop vac with a brush for 15min ,while the other one was seating in the van writing a proposal for $2500 to fix my fireplace.Very funny.

Disclaimer: the service and personability/demeanor vary with the tech you get. We have had two different ones. The first one I cannot remember his name, but he tried to scare us into paying for things that weren't necessary at the time and were very, very costly. We're talking thousands of dollars for chimney repair. However, the second tech that came out on a different occasion was James, I believe, and we absolutely love him! Not only was he professional, he was very matter-of-fact, and gave us not only our options, but what each path would lead to down the road. He helped us make some very smart decisions regarding our fireplace, and was very personable. It is because of him that we continue to use A-1 for all of our chimney services to this day.
