They were punctual and professional and explained everything they would be doing.

Determined all fireplaces had cracks and needed repair which was done at the time of service, plus 2 of the fireplaces needed additional repairs which were scheduled for later date (parts needed to be ordered). Happy with the service we received.

I originally hired A-1 Chimney Repair on 11/23/2016 to inspect my chimney. That spring I had my roof replaced and the roofer showed me pictures of inadequate work. I consequently gave them an F review on 9/4/2017. They subsequently came out for free and reinspected, repainted the chimney area and were very cordial and apologetic. They did have pictures after they initially did the job. Apparently, the painted portion rusted again more quickly than usual, and I was very pleased that they took the time, and at no charge redid the work. I have upgraded them to a B rating, would be an A, except for the inconvenience, and yes, I would hire them again.

Very professional and prompt. Not sure of what the going rate is, but I felt secure in the quality of the service. I would recommend to others and would use them again.

Very well. They found caps broken or missing, showed me pictures, explained what was wrong and what should be done, did it after I agreed, and showed me pictures of the work completed. Excellent job!

They spent more time writing the bill than cleaning my fireplace. They wrote a bill of 2700 to repair my fireplace. There's nothing wrong with it a small little crack that needs to be filled.

We’ve used them for years for cleaning and repairing the chimney. We trust them. These fellows were fine, tho it took them a while to replace the flu — we have an insert, which makes it more complicated.

The company worked with us to achieve our satisfaction and bring our gas fire place into good working order.

Only spent about 15 to 20 minutes?? Seems awful fast. They were supposed to send me pictures but never did. Couldn't read the paper they left and had to. All for explanation.

Consumer be aware, deceptive pricing and a horrible customer service, refuses to itemize the bill for me. Update: they itemized bill for me but it's inflated to equal the original amount, still no product information. After much research and several phone calls they offered to take back the fire set. The set installed by them in less than an hour retails for around $300. They charged me $1700 and it was installed in less than an hour. They have their junk back now. I uninstalled it myself in 15 minutes. It cost me $25 to stop payment and they left damage to my original fireplace and took some of my old parts such as my fire screen. . I hired a reputable company for a set much, much better for a total cost of $700. I showed them the original set and receipt and they were shocked. Don’t let their politeness fool you because they will take you for a merry ride and clean out your checkbook. Buyer beware !!

They inspected the chimney from the roof and found that caps needed fixing or replacing and the chimney had cracks. They showed me pictures before I approved the additional work and they fixed everything right then and there—quickly and professionally. They skowed me pictures of the completed work.

They cleaned the chimney and inspected it and recommended some repair work for about $600. The new buyers will have the option of completing the repair work if they so choose.

A-1 was great to work with. Derrick showed up on time, inspected everything and gave us a prioritized list of things to take care of to make things as safe and problem-free as possible. Our fireplace had not been maintained by the previous owners so we were expecting issues. Derrick listened to our concerns and respected our choice to have the flame plate removed at this time, potentially replacing it later.

It went great. Someone answered my call the first time I called, I didn't have to leave a message and was able to confirm on the spot that the work I was looking for was work A-1 could do. I managed to get an appointment for the next day. Derrick the technician called before the appt time, as expected and arrived promptly for the appt. He and Brandon went up to the roof right away and came back and reported the issues that they saw and what they recommended fixing. Derrick wrote up the invoice and told me they were able to do the work that day if I wanted to. This was great news as it would save me trying to schedule another appointment. They worked diligently for 3-4 hours to get the job completed. When finished Derrick showed me numerous before and after pictures to confirm the work was completed as we discussed.

The representative from A-1 arrived very late then spent five minutes inspecting my fireplace. He stated that it was too dirty to clean for the agreed price of $99. He also said it was unsafe and a fire hazard and the fee would be $600 to clean it. I denied the service and called another company for a second opinion. The second company arrived on time and cleaned the chimney for $150. I asked if it was unsafe and the representative said it was not.

Overall it went very well. Services were a little more expensive than expected, but everyone was very professional, and they did a great job.

So how did it go??? Not that great. My Technician Will and Assistant Brandon were terrific guys. Will really seemed to know what he was doing and understood the issues I was facing. They spent a long time at my location. They climbed into the attic and also went on my extreamly pitched roof to inspect the chiminey While inspecting the chimney they spotted a gap where rain water was coming in and were even kind enough to splash some caulk into the hole. Man I was sold! Will printed up the quote and his handwritting is the best I've ever seen. So what was wrong??? They quoted $2150 bucks to tear it down which was in keeping with other quotes....BUT..... they said they would need a lift to take it down. They claimed that their boss was great friends with a guy who owned a lift rental company and could get a fantastic deal on lifts....The price they quoted for the lift??? $3861. The problem I got a quote from a local lift company for the same lift they suggested for under 400 bucks. I really felt this was a major attempt to take advantage of me. Also, in the quote they specified.... "If they damaged the lawn they would not be responsible. Even worse the quote also specified......"If the Chimney collapsed when they demolished it,..... they would not be held responsible. (Don't they have insurance)? None of the other 4 companies I had quote the work even suggested such a thing. In the end I had the Chimney removed for $1995 by a major competitior which included everything including the scaffolding and removal of the brick. (By the way.....My lawn looks great). I hate to write bad reviews. If you look at my other reviews.....all heap praise with the exception of one.
