Very professional. Left area clean. Took pictures of outside chimney areas that need work. Best part is that the work was done without going over the amount paid when purchased on Angie's List - first time in 3 years of buying Angie listed services.

Very well. Mark discovered several serious problems in need of repair before the fireplace can be used safely. He gave us a written estimate for the repairs which is very competitive. Will definitely hire them to do this work.

These guys are great. Always on time and friendly - and honest about the inspection. This time it was only a chimney/fireplace cleaning, but the work was performed quickly and thoroughly.

It went fine for the cleaning. But one chimney, in the living room which we won't use, apparently had no liner (photos were decisive). The service technician could not start the gas in the other fireplace, in the family room, which we would want to use, He left an estimate for over $3000 to replace the liner and promised to call with the estimate for fixing the gas log set. After not hearing back from him after 2 weeks, I followed up. Still he did not know how to fix the issue. After more weeks of no information I spoke to the receptionist who told me the owner would call me. The owner never called. So now I had to start from point 1 and get another company to fix the issue. More money spent. Of course, I would never get A-1 Safety Chimney Service to fix the liner either --- they are not reliable.

As expected. We're professional and delivered what promised

All went very well. Will and his partner arrived on time and explained what they were going to do. Will showed me how to use my gas fireplace since I was not familiar with operating one. They cleaned and inspected the fireplace and chimney. Will found cracks in the chimney that needed to be sealed before the cold weather arrives. There was a $420 extra charge to seal the cracks. He removed the old antenna that was attached to the chimney and hauled it away. I think they did a great job and I would use them again.

OK As I was finishing this review and you asked for photos, I realized I never received the promised photos so I don't know the quality of the work unless I go up on the roof myself.. Since I'm a senior, I won't be doing that. I don't know how to attach photos.

AMAZING! The guys were nice and very detailed in their explanations. They told me what I should get replaced and what I could probably get away with not replacing. I didn't feel like they were trying to make a sale, but were actually looking out for the better well being.

Wonderful! We used the Angie's list coupon for this vendor. In addition to the fireplace cleaning/inspection, the coupon covered inspection of the furnace and dryer vent. My furnace passed, but my dryer vents were horrendous! Everything from the first phone contact through the completion of the service was top notch. They sent out 2 technicians for the service call so that once the lead person did an extensive inspection and made his recommendations, both technicians could perform the agreed upon work in an efficient manner, taking photos before/after repairs. I would highly recommend them and plan to use them in the future.

Good experience. Workmen wore booties, kept my house clean, gave me honest assessment of what I needed. The stone at the back of my fireplace was cracked and the serviceman told me how to fix it myself for a low cost. He inspected my chimneys on my roof, took digital photos, and showed me them when he came down. I was missing a chimney cap, which I paid for by credit card and they installed on same visit, again showing my digital photos of their finished work. I would use them again.

I was told they saw her come up from the top of the chimney. I did not see the dirt come down the chimney. I have been getting a lot of dirt from my chimney and I was hoping that it will get clean so that I wouldn't see her anymore. He looked at my dryer vent but he didn't disconnect my dryer to clean it out. And he said my fireplace did not need cleaning.

Rip-off. Not good. I bought an $89 deal for a fireplace sweep. The moment he arrived, the technician let me know that if there is a squirrel nest inside he will have to charge me more depending how much time he needs to spend removing the nest. He did find a nest inside, which he removed in like 10 minutes but he charged me $150 for it! OK. He also noticed that I don’t have any caps on top of my chimney so he asked me if I need him to put the caps on and, he has them in the car, also mentioning that one cap, labor and materials would be $175, each. I thought, well, there must be some expensive caps and/or he needs to drill through the chimney to get them fixed. While he was replacing the caps, I Googled the caps prices and they were $45 apiece. It took him less than 5 minutes to install them both. When I asked why he charged me so much for the 2 caps he said “well, if you would have this installed by somebody else, they would charge you the same or even more”. Yes, if they will be arriving just to install the caps but you were already on top of the chimney, cleaning it up. You charged me $175 per cap like they were two different jobs! He didn’t say anything else when I told him that, he just giggled like somebody that he knows how greedy he was and he’s been caught. By the way, he was the foreman of the company he said, he was very proud about that.

A-1 Safety did a great job and took the time to explain how the fireplace could get cracked and what could be done to prevent it from happening in the future. They did a great job cleaning up afterwards and we will use them again!

A-1 Safety came - cleaned the chimney, cut out the 1945 frozen non working flue and replaced it with a damper at the roof level. Crew was efficient and work was completed in less that 2 hours at a very reasonable cost.

It went fairly well. They were originally scheduled to arrive between 8am-12pm. Anthony called multiple times during the morning to keep me updated on their estimated arrival time. Due to extra services performed at their first stop, they were not able to arrive until 12:30pm. Anthony and Brendan were very polite and professional, and took great care to ensure my they were clean with their work. They cleaned and inspected our chimney, and Anthony reviewed the results of the inspection with me. He pointed out that the rear wall of the fireplace was cracked, and that it could be a problem if it continues to get worse. He suggested some alternatives, including going to a store to purchase a replacement back wall for around $80, or having them install a heat shield right there for $250. We did not elect to go forward with the heat shield at the time, but Anthony provided a 15% coupon if we decided to go forward with that later.

Anthony was very knowledgeable, professional and efficient with quality work. He provided a detailed report with pictures to actually show me repairs needed. He spec'd out each detail of the quote and made recommendations to prioritize the work so I could make informed decisions. They did the repairs that same visit.

Anthony and his team were very professional. They did a perfect job, gave us an estimate of the work that should be done to maintain the chimney and the masonry. Work was done in about 45 minutes and they cleaned the area of operation. Anthony took the time to explain what has to be done and why, as well as what would happen if we don't do the recommended work. Overall I can recommend this company.

The inspection went well, but the news was bad. They were so professional, honest, and nice. I would trust them completely!

He knew what he was talking about. He spent a couple of hours at the house working and worked hard. I thought the price was a little high but he seemed very knowledgeable and professional.

Will and his assistant Dave from A-1 Safety Chimney came to our house on 7-13-16. They were very professional and prompt. Also, Samantha, the A-1 office manager was very professional and accommodated me with a great appointment time. Dave went up to the roof, inspected the chimney and reported a proper seal at the flashing and that all looked pretty good. Will and Dave did recommend Mortar Parge at the base of the chimney after removing the efflorescence, which would run $650.00 (a lot better than $4000.00!). I was so glad I got the second opinion from A-1 Safety Chimney, whose technician actually did go up to the roof to check for leakage! I haven't had this work done yet, but I will use A-1 Safety Chimney for this project when the time comes. They were very nice, too!
