They replaced it with a metal screen so that it wouldn't cause a fire in the future. The technicians was prompt, courteous and explained everything thoroughly. They were also very good at getting me on the schedule asap even though it was the busy season. I had to get the fireplace fixed before closing on my home and they were very responsive in my time of need. They also did a full chimney sweep and inspection.

It didn't. They cancelled on us at the last minute.

Services were performed as described. Inspection identified several items which service tech recommended get done. Those items had an estimated cost of $1200 which included $400 to reseal two chimneys at the roof. These estimates seemed high so I declined these services.

It was good. They were very helpful and they also actually brought to my attention some problems that I had with the venting up on my roof, so I was able to have them take care of that, which, by the looks of it, it was like the next big winter storm, and I would be losing the caps because they would be blown off in the winter. So they helped me kind of divert what may have been a more costly fix or repair at a time of the year that it wouldn't be good getting up on the roof to do this kind of stuff. I appreciated that. The technician was extremely polite and showed me everything, took pictures even. They e-mailed me the pictures. He and his partner were very professional and very polite. They came within a month because I know that that time of the year is busy and everybody is trying to get chimneys cleaned and what not at that point in time because it's getting cold. They were prompt, I think I had to change the appointment time once with them and they were very flexible. They were very prompt. For the cleaning service, they charged $99. Obviously replacing what needed to be replaced on the roof was in addition to that, which was fine. I felt comfortable with that. I wasn't quite prepared for the cost, but I felt that they were being fair and I certainly could have said, "Hey, well, I'm going to have it checked out," but I felt that they were being fair from the business perspective. They did it all in one go, so I was glad about that because I didn't have to make arrangements to be home from work for another day. So, I appreciated that. In total, it ended up being just a little bit over $800. They were great all the way around. They left me a couple of extra cards, I'm going to let my neighbors know too, about them because I thought they were very good. Anthony D'angelo, that's who was here. When you let people in your home, businesses are supposed to be professional and everything like that and it's just always nice when people do exactly what they're supposed to be doing and acting in a professional manner. It's just nice that it seems to be a very upstanding business and the people that they employ seem to be very upstanding and that's nice.

I was told that the cleaning/inspection could not be performed because he couldn't remove chimney cap. By the time A-1 left, they had written me an estimate for a new chimney cap for almost $800 so they could then do the cleaning and flu inspection. Not to mention the other $2000+ work that they said I needed outside the chimney. I could only imagine what they would have come up with once they got inside the chimney for inspection. Being a retired general contractor for over 25 years, I could see what was going on. Their prices were very high on top of it all for all the extras they tried to sell me. I have since hired one of the other 2 contractors I contacted. Both said they would have no issues doing the work with my existing chimney cap.

The men that came were very professional, courteous, and did a great job. I was offered suggestions for improvements but there was no pressure. I really appreciated this and will consider recommendations.

NOTHING, had to wait two weeks to get service and they promised to come early and then called with inability to meet deadline and then could not get another appt until JAN 2017 gonna get a refund!
