Requested contact twice over the course of a month, no response at all.

Other than be shocked by the price, everything went good. They explained everything they were doing, and even went an extra step.... I had a basic understanding, and now I have even more. It had been a long time and I was lucky that I decided to be proactive. They were not my first inspection, and they mentioned the exact same things. Plus I love my new logs and sand!!!!

Aside from the deal price of $89.00 for inspection, after the service was done, I ended up paying more than $500 for repairs and the installation of the hood.The price was an issue because it was more than what I was expecting, but the quality of work that they did was good and acceptable.

Thorough work and professional people

They were called out to provide a repair estimate for some brick face chipping off near the chimney crown. I wasn't at home, but Anthony from A-1 provided my wife estimates for rebuilding ($9000) or sealing ($1900) the crown and a few rows of brick below it. They then told her things like "it will cost more if we have to come back out" and pressured her into paying $1600 to essentially just calk the crown with silicone and apply a little brick sealant. They were at the house less than 2 hours and a generous estimate for the materials is less than $100. I found out later they failed to disclose the seal work is a temporary fix and the top of the chimney will have to be rebuilt anyway. Anthony took advantage of a homeowner who didn't know any better just because he could, and the front office is okay operating their business unethically. There are similar experiences by others in reviews at some other sites. I wish I had read them beforehand.

i was charged 3299$ for work which was done in 30 minutes. the realfyre birch log set and fibre glass was $2241 when i can see that in Amazon was 200-300 $. stainless cap (381),B-vent cap(266), Chimney saver (421), Crown seal (366) and flashing seal (388), bird disposal (645) So shocked and upset now when i show the process to anybody. tred calling them, but they mocked me and said you agreed to pay these prices. they also challenged me to do anything i want and mocked me.

Great job cleaning. Discussed some tuckpointing in the spring and the possibility of waterproofing. Gave quote for waterproofing. Suggested replacement caps as they were beginning to rust but said not required and that they were still doing their job. Had to wait over a month during busy season for appt. On time. Appeared honest, knowledgeable. Invoiced $189 but when showed them Angie’s List email with discount, adjusted invoice to $149.

My Washer and Dryer is on the second floor of house. It's good I hire a chimney company to handle this task. They offer Weekend appointment, arrive on time. The service tech is professional and very helpful to explain everything. I end up get a bird guard from them , too. ( They even remind me I need to get HOA approval on the colour of the bird guard before ...) Overall, excellent service and I will definitely hire them again,

I requested a chimney sweep and dryer vent cleaning. There was a lint build up in my dryer vent and it was made out to be a huge problem, requiring a significant up-charge (3x what I was told going in). In the end I was charged ~$600 for what amounted to an hour of labor and no materials. The work was fine, but beware of rip off prices that take advantage of your situation (I had no choice as I needed to get the work done prior to the sale of my home).

Waited for a month for an appointment. Then on the day of the appointment waited for over 3 hours. Cancelled the appointment. Do not use.

They were very friendly, professional and safety conscience. They noticed a crack in the back panel of the fireplace and had the equipment on the truck to repair the same day. They were reasonably priced (deal/coupon through Angie's list). I would definitely recommend them as well as use them again in the future.

A-1 fixed my issue the second time out. The first inspector didn't do a thorough job and had to call A-1 back to come out again (after I had my furnace repair person out again). The 2nd crew was very thorough and they ultimately found and removed the blockage. Pricing was a lot higher than I expected (almost 600) for the sweep and a new cap.

It sucks, I cancelled it because they can't do the work until the end of November.

Great. Mark and Marcus came out and cleaned our very filthy dryer vent. They did an awesome job and saved us from a potentially dangerous situation.

I hired the company to inspect the chimney in our new house, because the first time we used the fireplace, smoke billowed into the room. They told us the chimney and firebox were damaged and the only solution was to install a ventless fireplace. We found out later that the fireplace had already been converted to gas at some point and the previous owner hadn't mentioned it. They were more interested in selling us a new fireplace system we didn't need than in fixing the problem.

They also provided some tips on getting proper air flow. Really great guys - professional, punctual, and pleasant. Will use again!

A-1 Safety Chimney Services did a good job of cleaning the inside of the chimney so we could use it during the Winter months. They did inspect the whole chimney and made recommendations. I would hire them again.

We ended up converting our old, unsafe woodburning fireplace to a gasburning one -- and they did it in less than 2 hours, along with some repairs to the chimney cap, etc. We hadn't been able to use the fireplace fro 4 years, so I am thrilled to have it back and better than ever.

All debris was left in the fireplace for us to clean. They were only trying to sell repairs. My husband put a call into them when we realized all the debris was left. Instead of calling him back, they called ME and proceeded to "mansplain" why the debris was left there. Hire someone else.

Solved our dryer problem and prevented a very dangerous situation with lint buildup. They noticed a problem with a different roof vent so it ended up being more expensive than we had planned, but had to be taken care of.

Cleaned chimney and discovered some issues. Took before and after pictures at reasonable price. Guys were nice and helpful
