Derek hedge from A1 arrived with his partner mike. They could not have been more helpful, kind patient and professional. The he explained the results of the inspection and offered options and opinions for resolving the now fairly obvious issues. They weren't pushy but patient and informative and fixed both issues. The fire box on the day of the inspection and the crown a week later due to inclement weather. Would HIGHLY recommend A1

The guys showed up on time, and did a great job. We needed a new dryer vent installed, and it went great. A little more than I wanted to spend, but our dryer works 1000 times better, and the peace of mind knowing there is no fire hazard was worth it. The guys were very nice and professional. I will definitely hire again.

It took them about 3 hours because of all the extra work they had to do. They cleaned up after themselves.

It went great. Received a call to set up an appointment. They showed up on time, were very professional, and began inspecting the chimney. I had experienced smoke in the house and thought it was blocked. They inspected and found nothing blocked. He explained what was needed when starting a fire to eliminate the smoke from coming in. It was nice to get an honest answer without additional cost. I would definitely call them again.

It was very good. They didn't get on the roof. I expect they cleaned our chimney. They were right on time. They were nice.

Timely and well. A1 sent a two man team. They arrived on time and got right to work. We brought them for the main living room fireplace/chimney but they agreed to do the same sweep/inspection work for the 2nd fireplace/chimney in the master bedroom. The lead person did a great job walking us through the inspection and their estimates to address any of the concern items. He did that while the 2nd man executed the sweep/clean. They were thorough, fast, and tidy; the cleaned up after themselves very well.

Professional.. Did not push for other services but did give suggestions. Have them coming for this winter service. Clean

Great! On time and very professional

2-man team called ahead and arrived on time. Friendly, professional, took care to keep my home clean, and explained the steps they were taking as well as costs over and above what was included in the Angie's List deal I purchased. After interior and exterior inspection (and showing me pictures of exterior inspection) they recommended future maintenance on exterior to reseal rusting areas to prevent any holes from forming that would be more expensive to repair (replace). Had to schedule in future on a dry day. Have a a cost for that work. They removed old vermiculite material and cleaned fireplace. Offered to replace with recommended sand and fire glass materials at additional cost, which seemed a little high but looks nice and is done. Happy with the results and look forward to their return to perform the exterior work. Also performed free dryer vent inspection and showed pictures. Did not require cleaning at this time.

The technicians arrived on time, the work was done in a professional manner, they were clean and cleaned up behind themselves. Will definitely use their services again.

Left a dirty footprint on my area rug. Not sure if the chimney was actually cleaned, did see them clean the logs though. Felt more like a sales call to sell me on more services .

There was definitely some miscommunication when I requested to have my furnace cleaned and I was told that they could do that on several occasions.

The gentlemen who came were professional, friendly, took great care to neither create nor leave a mess and I would hire them again without question. We were given photos of the fireplaces, an exact listing of what work needs to be done including prices.

After the visit, the downstairs fireplace gave off a strong odor. It turned out that the technician had not arranged the logs properly. On a later visit, he said he was sorry and that he was usually more careful. After the visit, the upstairs fireplace did not function properly, The technicians said it could not be the result of anything they did because they "had not touched the fireplace. They just looked at it." I asked what they had done when they were paid for a cleaning. They said they hadn't done anything because it looked okay. We brought the company out for a second visit. They did not respond immediately because the young lady said we had to take the next available appointment. The technicians who came out could not get the upstairs fireplace working again. They said they thought it would take ordering a valve component. I have since had another company look at it and they repaired it quickly and at little expense. I would not recommend this firm.

The entire process went very smoothly. The company came out and gave an initial inspection. The damper in my fireplace was warped, but they were able to fix it during this time (saving me about $400). They also applied the cost of the initial inspection to the total cost of repair. When I made an appointment, the wait time was about two weeks because it was in the midst of the season for fireplace repair. The company informed me that the work would take a majority of the day, so I needed to start right away and plan on it taking awhile. When the two employees arrived, they told me they were only scheduled for half the day, a nice surprise for me. They split up the task, one working inside while the other was on the roof. Both employees were so efficient that they were finished in just over two hours, a significantly lower time than I ever expected. They were very clean and left the house as nice as it was found. I had a fire burning that night and have enjoyed several since then!

good on chimney, but dryer vent was bit pricy

I made a Big Deal purchase with them. They were pretty good. They did a good job. There was no additional charge. One person came out to do the service. A-1 Safety Chimney Service was professional, helpful, and they were able to fix my fireplace which wasn't working and turn it to working condition. This was my first time using them.

We wanted to have our chimney cleaned and inspected before we used it again over the winter. They came out and cleaned and inspected the chimney and said it was in good shape, but then proceeded to try and sell us other expensive products. By the time they were finished selling us all of the add on items, we were 500% over the cost of the original appointment. They wanted to sell us even more than that, but we declined. I would describe their sales approach as very aggressive. I'd say they seemed to do a good job cleaning the fireplace. I didn't like the high pressure sales.

Excellent work. Cleaning was done with immaculate precision in three flats and inspection results accompanied with photos to make it easier to take remedial action. Very friendly and polite and professional service.
