They called me to schedule the service 15 minutes after I purchased it on Angie's list! They called to remind me about the appointment and they arrived on time. Very professional and knowledgeable guys, chimney cleaning and inspection was done very thorough and problems pointed out and options very clearly explained.

They were very good, they had to do a lot of work to get everything repaired. They were very nice and treated us great.

Before they came into our home, they put on little booties so they didn't soil our rug. Then they inspected the fireplace, taking pictures of the flue and chimney so we could see what they were seeing. One worker placed a large drop-cloth on the floor in front of the fireplace and began to clean the chimney using a large brush and vacuum. The other worker went onto the roof to inspect the exterior of chimney. He took pictures to show the cracks that had formed between some of the bricks. He then itemized the cost of repairs, which they could do while they were there; we didn't have to schedule another appointment. When he was done with the repairs he showed us pictures of the finished job so we could see what he had done. The workers were very professional in their appearance and manner throughout the entire process. We would recommend them to anyone with chimney issues.

The two gentlemen were very efficient and professional. They recommended I purchase a heat shield for the fireplace, which cost more money and simply involved putting in a metal shield behind the fireplace.

The installation was good. Unfortunately the unit couldn't be centered based upon location of the gas line, but all other aspects of the job were superb. The wife loves it.

A-1 called yesterday reminding me that I had chimney cleaning last year and offering services now. Scheduled a service call for the next day. They gave me a good narrow range of arrival times and said that the service person would call at least a half hour before arrival. Also gave me prices for the services. The next day the service person did call and arrived as promised. John was very courteous. He confirmed the work order and the prices. He and his assistant, Michael, brought in their equipment wearing overshoes to protect our floors. John took pictures of the fireplace before starting work so that we would know that the work would be done. Michael quickly and efficiently cleaned the fireplace. John went on the roof and inspected all exterior parts of the chimney, taking pictures, to show me that everything was in good order. He gave us an estimate for the upgrades we want to do at a future date. He then inspected the dryer vent system including going down into the crawl space to check the entire length of the venting. The vent line had broken away from the outlet. He took pictures to show me the condition. He then provided an estimate of cost for repairs. The price was reasonable, so we asked him to make the repairs. Once again the work was done in an efficient, and skillful manner. After completion he took more pictures to show that the work was done properly. He then cleaned the line after taking pictures of the inside of the line showing the lint build up. Michael and John cleaned up all their equipment and debris. He gave us an itemized bill which we paid by credit card. We are very satisfied with the service we received and would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others.

Work was fine but the extremely high price was way out of competitive range

They didn't even sweep out my chimney.

I wasn't too impressed. They did the job but they kept trying to up sell us on things. They told my wife, by law, they have to inspect our other chimneys, which is not the case. So I would never recommend them again.

The service people who came were polite and treated her like family. They knew exactly what to do. They gave her options on repair work. They were very timely and did supply a good inspection. Outstanding company and we would recommend them.

I think they were expensive, but their work was good. I sort of had a mixed experience even though they bid pretty high. Workmanship -- when you need chimney repairs they are worth contacting, but I would suggest getting competitive bids.

A-1 arrived on time, as scheduled, cleaned the chimney. They kept my apartment clean and did not see need for any changes/repairs, except one, which along with the configuration of my fireplace, could explain drafts. Apparently my association's chimney's need to be 2 feet taller to meet city code. It will cost $900 (most of which is the pipe) to obtain and install that 2 feet, so I opt not to use my fireplace. A-1 rep also provided me with estimates, at my request, to convert my fireplace to gas. My fireplace already has a gas connection, just need the log fixture. Minimum $1500 to do that, so that was not an option for me.

It worked out great. They were there on time, did a very thorough inspection, and gave me a quote for work that needed to take place in the fireplace. I was happy with their service. They were very professional, punctual, and thorough and I would use their services again.

Fireplace is beautiful. All work done in the same visit

Turned out that the fireplace was in poor condition and needed a handful of repairs. The servicemen were quick and polite. They answered all our questions, even the odd ones.

I don't know how good of a job they did. I can't crawl into the chimney to check. I have no idea what the pricing should be. It took about an hour. They came out and cleaned my chimney.
