Description of Work: They were professional and polite. They told me that the inside of my chimney was glazed and needed special processing which cost nearly 4 times the price of the Angie's deal. Since I had heard this from another company last year, I decided to go along with it. The other company estimated a much higher price for the service.

Description of Work: They came out vacuumed the fireplace & inspected the vents/caps. |Inspection revealed small hairline crack on cap. A-1 suggested $1250.00 |re-cap treatment & new custom vents. These suggestions seem excessive as current vents have been working the 55 years of the homes existence. |Felt like these guys do the "big deal" to get into homes only to "find" work that should be performed. Very leery of the snap fix & big deals AL is pumping, buyer beware.

They completed the original and add-on work. We need to wait until spring to see if it accomplished what we set out to do, but at this moment, we're pleased.

Description of Work: A-1 cleaned and inspected two chimney's for me. They techs were very knowledgeable and professional. Took pictures to show us the necessary items. They did leave us with an estimate for an additional $1k worth of work. I looked online and noticed that some of the items had a pretty hefty mark up on them. Overall, I think the service was great and I may have some of the items fixed, but will shop around on price a bit.

Description of Work: I bought the big deal on Angies list. Guy was supposed to clean out fireplace and sweep chimney. The serviceman did minimal vacuuming of fireplace area. He said that he couldnt get the cap off the chimney to sweep it. Amazingly he is able to get the cap off but it would cost a couple hundred extra dollars. He also said I needed 2500 dollars worth of work to purge my chimney. I feel like I spent $99 to have someone come to my house to give me a $2500 estimate for work I didn't need. To top it off they give me the pressure sale saying I can save 20% by agreeing today to Get the work done. I would not recommend this company or any big deal. I have bought 2 and had a similar experience with both. I don't need to spend money to have someone try to sell me stuff.
