A-1 Safety Chimney Service, Inc.

Description of Work: Reset brick, tuckpointed, and poured wash on chimney. They also installed a cover over the chimney to protect it from animal infestation. After estimates from several companies with prices all over the map, A-1 was chosen to do our work based on their responsiveness, professional appraisal, estimate and interest in the job. They proved to be very competent and efficient in their repair work. We would definitely call on them again if we needed this type of work in the future.

Description of Work: They cleaned the inside of the chimney which was very dirty. They assessed the fireplace and told me the condition that the fireplace bricks were in due to water leakage. They offered their services to fix the problem and gave me the price it would cost.

They also inspected and cleaned our clothes dryer vent. |They called to confirm our appointment, they arrived ahead of time after confirming that is was okay with me. Description of Work: We had a bird in our fireplace. We called to have someone come get it out and we were instructed to buy their $99 coupon for a chimney cleaning and inspection. They canceled on us twice, so the bird ultimately died and started to smell pretty ripe by the time they finally showed up. Then they proceeded to tell us our fireplace and furnace were not up to code and they tried to sell us on a $5,000 fix!! After they left, we did our own research with the village. Everything was fine. The company was using old codes. Certainly glad I didn't spend more than $100!!

Description of Work: A1 arrived to my home on time. They climbed a big roof on a snowy day for evaluation. They cleaned the fire place and found a number of items that needed attention. They were very professional.

Description of Work: A-1 Chimney Service was very professional in all aspects of our service. They were very responsive to my initial contact and scheduled a service date which was very convenient for us. The office called the day before the scheduled service to reconfirm that someone would be home, and the techs called about a half hour before he arrived. The techs arrived on schedule, explained what they were going to do, and took great care to protect carpeting, etc. during the cleaning process. They also provided a full video inspection of the chimneys and dryer duct, and, not unexpectedly, found some issues with the chimneys which they documented and, with my approval, repaired. Entire experience was very satisfactory and we will definitely use them again.

Description of Work: They put a "Tent" over the top of the Chimney to prevent rain from coming down the Chimney. The chimney does need tuck pointing but they will complete it this spring.

Description of Work: Besides cleaning the chimney which we had purchased, they inspected the chimney by climbing on roof and told us the fan on the top was not intended for use on chimney plus some other damage on the insulation. They took pictures so we could see what they saw and then they made recommendations for correction which they did on same visit. The repairs now will avoid more costly repairs later.
