Description of Work: Provider was more interested in selling extra services like cleaning my dryer vent. I told them my son cleans it, but the guy said it could start a fire if it's not cleaned well. So I agreed to let them clean it. He came it with a cell-photo of maybe a cup of lint on the ground outside. It cost me an extra $89 for that. Also, they inadvertently took an antique hand shovel of mine. It took me several calls to the the service guy and the office over a month's time. Finally, someone else returned the shovel.

Description of Work: We bought the big deal for a Chimney sweep and check. Our chimney didn't need to be swept when they looked at it so they helped my husband figure out why it wasn't working, the gas shut off for the fireplace was in the kitchen. They also put a new piece on the gas line.

A-1 explained the current damper was of no use and suggested replacing, which I agreed. Cleaned the chimney and installed the new damper with in a few hours. A-1 also explained how my fireplaced worked including an air vent on the back side of the firebox which I did not have in my previous home. When finished, A-1 cleaned up the area very well. Very curtious and their knowledge of fireplaces spoke for itself. Very Pleased.

Description of Work: Unfortunately, they showed me a lot of problems that are expensive to fix. The 2 guys were very nice and polite. No special deals were offered at this time. They were thorough and even took pictures. I will need 2 other estimates before I have repairs done.

Description of Work: chimney cleaning and safety inspection. they came on time as they has stated on the phone. performed the inspection and cleaning and provided us with a report on findings and recommendations for work to be completed. They were not pushy for the followup work but recommended it be done at some point if we were to use the fireplace. We will get around to it, but with finances the way they are, we opted to hold off a bit on the suggested work.
