Plaster Man is a great guy, easy to work with, and did excellent work. Looks like new and done fast. My only complaint that his repair area was within feet of the edge, and since he didn't just go all the way to the wall, I ended up needing to repaint the whole thing. But I did restrict the budget so I can't complain too much. He worked with me to meet my price and still get the job done. Would definitely recommend and would use again.

Response from Raymer Plastering Repair
I really enjoyed working for this family. As with many repairs I do, the area to be repaired is what I focus on. It would be nice if the repaired area blended in with the ceiling or wall areas without painting, but that is just not possible. I tell all my clients they will usually have to prime and paint the entire ceiling or wall after a repair is done. My specialty is repairing it so that after it is primed and painted, it blends in and does not show.

It went very well. Robin (Plasterman) was prompt to respond and kept us updated as he did our repair. He was polite and cheerful. Hoping I don't need it again, but would definitely call him if we have the need for more plaster work.
Description of Work: Due to a leak in our roof, our plastered ceiling was damaged. Some of the texturing was loose and part of it fell. We called him and he came the next day to look at it, sent us an estimate the same day. He came, at our convenience, and removed the rest of the loosened texturing, reinforced the original plaster and retextured the ceiling

Terrible as listed above
Description of Work: I had requested Mr. Raymer come and give us an estimate to repair some spots and tape coming loose in our two bathrooms. After several attempts at emailing back and forth using his website, Mr. Raymer stopped by and gave us the impression that it would be an easy fix. I asked him to prepare an estimate for us and he stated he would let us know. This was more than two weeks ago. I have tried contacting him through email and he does not respond. I know his email works because today I received an email from Mr. Raymer (some type of mass email) stating i was getting this.email because I was his "friend" and it was an email as to "The best chinese restaurant" or something to that effect. This is unprofessional. If he didn't want to do the job then he should have said so from the beginning. I am told he did a good job for my sister-in-law's bathroom. Needless to say he won't be hired to do ours!

I understand this customers frustration. My e-mail account was hacked in to. Fake and goofy e-mails were sent out to this customer and it really has been a stressful experience. I am trying to do all I can to resolve this issue. I contacted this customer to let them know I was very sorry for this situation. I will continue to do all I can to make my customers happy. I try my hardest to keep good communication between me and my customers. I value everyone who contacts me to work in their homes doing plaster repairs. Sincerely, Robin Raymer Plaster Man

We hired Robin to do the work. He knocked it out in 2 days! He was always on time and he worked very hard.He put plastic sheets over anything that was out in the open. The whole day I could hear him up there either humming a little tune or whistling away. He cleaned up his whole mess, wiped down the floor and even fixed an area on the wall at no charge. The work was beautiful, I was amazed. My wife and I are so happy with the final look, you would never know that we had a huge hole in the middle of our bedroom. His payment methods are cash, check or PayPal. It took us a couple days to pay through PayPal, waiting for bank authorization and such. Please be prepared when he is done, I hated the fact that he had to wait to get paid considering how hard he worked. My only suggestion would be for him to offer the Square credit card system for payments. It's what I use and it works like a dream. If you have any plaster work that you need done, I can't recommend him enough. If quality and workmanship is important to you, then hire this guy. You will not regret it.
Description of Work: I have an older home with lots of sloped plaster ceilings and dormers. A raccoon had torn a hole into our roof and got into the attic during a bad thunderstorm. Needless to say, a huge section of the master bedroom ceiling came crashing down in the middle of the night. You could see right up into the attic, what a mess. I called a couple of plaster repair companies for estimates. Robin wasn't the cheapest, but I could tell right away that he knew what he was doing and showed confidence. I had a him basically make my ceiling look like it was brand new. The size of the area was about 10'x10'. When the work was done, we were told how long to wait before painting too.

He did really well and cleaned up after himself. He came in under budget and he set up tarps and things to keep from making a mess. We were really happy and will use him again in the future. He was a little more expensive than other people but we saw him on Angie's List so we figured he would be worth the extra money.

Response from Raymer Plastering Repair
It was really nice working for the member. Once again I had a customer who really was appreciative of the work I did. I have had literally hundreds of customers who needed plaster repair in their homes in the Peoria and East Peoria/Morton areas. I also have done a lot of work in the Germantown hills area. I can say very honestly that I really have had fantastic customers here in the Peoria area. My customers are people I do business with, but they are more than that. They really become friends of mine and I have many I still stay in touch with to this day. I recently was able to go on WGN radio in Chicago. I offer training to people who want to learn plaster repair as a business opportunity. The interview can be found on their website. You put Bill Moller in the search window and then go to the 1/21/2012 interview with Plaster Man. It was a great show to be on, and I am very appreciative for being able to help people learn about this great trade. People are coming in from around the world to the Peoria area to learn how to do plaster repair for a living. 2012 marks 30 years I've been doing this trade, and I wish success to all of my customers this year and beyond! Plaster On!

Response from Raymer Plastering Repair
I appreciated the member's business. He is a very kind individual, as are most of my customers. The people of Morton and Peoria are top notch and wonderful to work for! I tell most people that I am not the 'cheapest' bid. Most of the time I am the highest estimate that they will get. However, they will not regret the work I do or having me visit their home to do the repair work that is needed. Many times today companies have one person come in and 'bid' the work and then the homeowner gets a big surprise when they see that someone else shows up to do the work. Often they do not cover or protect the areas where the work is being done. And many times the work is not done well. My business is not to criticize others work. My job is to do the best work possible. Plaster repair is an 'art'. It takes great skill in knowing what materials to use and how to apply them to make things look 'right'. That's what I take pride in doing. I do all the work myself and it's great to have hundreds of happy customers in the Peoria area! I look forward to hearing from anyone who needs repair work done. I use genuine plaster and can do repairs to both newer and older/historic homes. I do repairs to smooth walls and ceilings as well as a large variety of textured surfaces. Plaster can also be used to make smooth walls textured, or a textured surface smooth. You can visit my website, or call me at 309-647-2287. I look forward to hearing from you!
