He was bad, he was absolutely awful. He was terrible. He was awful. What happened was this does not make any sense. My doorbell, I had a whole list of things for him to do in the 2 hours he was here. The first thing was the doorbell, he did fix that and I was grateful for that. I gave him like $20 to go to Menards to go get doorbells. This is what he said to me, he figured out what was wrong and I needed a new one. I was like ok you need to go get one. So when I asked him to go get it he was like you could have had one. How would I know to have one when he was the one who told me I would need a new one. Handyman usually come, look at the problem get whatever they need and fix it. He says I need a doorbell can you go get one. He told me it would cost $20-$25 and I was like that is fine. I think I wrote out a check. It takes him an hour to get 2 doorbells and it is only like 15 minutes away. By the time he finished putting them in the time was up. When I asked for a receipt for the door bell, and he said that mileage was included in the bill. The doorbells were like $12 and he took the rest of the money. If I had never asked he would have just taken the money. It was like he did not want to work. If you do not want to do it then don't put out an ad. I kept wondering if he was going to come back from Menards and like I said the that was the only work he did. I scheduled them to come out at night and I missed the appointment so I gave him an additional money because I was sorry he was not there when he stopped by. I don't know why he would have come at night to fix a doorbell when it is dark. If you are a handyman you need to be happy. People have a whole list to do not one item but he just stretched it out. He was awful, absolutely awful. The bell does work and still works. He was punctual.

The provider was late but did try to contact me via AngiesList email (which I'm not logged in on unless I'm in communication with someone) to let me know he was running late. We purchased a two hour service so we thought we could get a couple things done since they weren't too elaborate. But it seemed to take forever to get the storage contraption installed in the ceiling of the garage. We needed a toilet seat replaced as well and while he looked at it, he said he didn't have the tools to pry it off. Luckily, we had a difference handyman service come out and do some other things a couple months ago and they took care of it quickly.

The company has not returned any of my calls.

They crew was late and they did not call. They installed it incorrectly so they had to have another handyman come out and installed it correctly.

It went fine. Young man was very polite and professional. Worked quickly.

Provider proved very accommodating. He had to return because I purchased hinges that did not work. He helped select the proper ones and did the job.

Very well. The owner was prompt, willing to handle any job I asked, courteous and completed the most important work I had scheduled.

He saved me and my family a lot of money. The electric company was going to charge me $25.00 per month extra for every month the meter was not replaced.

That didn’t go well because they didn’t show up the first time that we were scheduled and they didn’t call to say that they weren’t coming. I called them and they said that my phone died so he didn’t know where we were. I had to reschedule my day to be home for them.

I purchased the big deal for 2 hours of handyman service. We needed our mailbox replaced and an address plaque hung onto our brick. He was on time and professional. I would use him again!

He showed up 20 minutes late - though called before for his late. #1: Did not bring his tools to drill two screws, - so did not work on the item#1 #2: He claimed before coming that he did installation before (which is incorrect, i find when started) He started the next item (installing safe rack), - he found tools without power - did not even charged the removable battery before coming - started charging and not able to use the power tool for next two hours, started using manual screw drivers. Took 1.50 hours to figuring out what to do. Just put three of 4 anchors (2X3 Screws) which 10% of the the total job at 12.20 pm, he looked at his watch and gone without finishing my job (no cleaning, left all parts scattered around the garage, it's a mess) Even though I agreed on his claim of $45/hour change of overage, he just RUN away because he felt to be caught of not knowing the work. I will never call this company, neither I would refer anyone.

I purchased the 2 hour $59.00 deal. Within a 3 hour time frame the provider only installed a Pre-cut door trim and baseboard for only one quarter (1/4) of the bedroom. -The base work was measured precisely but it took three hours and the job wasn't completed, much too slow! I purchased an additional hour and I was willing to buy more time but the job wasn't moving fast enough and the process would not have been cost effective. -The door trim reveals exposed nails and there are gaps between pre-cut parts. Most contractors will fill-in gaps with caulking or have other smart tricks to make the job look clean to give a nice finished product.

We scheduled an appointment, I took time off work to be there and they did not call or show up. I have decided not to use the deal.

Thank you Accugage Construction for coming to my rescue!!!! I purchased one of those home maintenance insurance programs (where they will service my appliance, furnace, water heater and pumping as needed) when I purchased my home. When I called them to service my furnace during the last Chicago freeze, I had problems with getting them to come out right away. That's when I remembered the Accugage Construction Company I used before and my friends also used to repair their furnace. So, I decided to call them when I started having problems with my furnace again. When I called Accugage Construction, they remembered the work that they previously done for me and that made me feel good. From the time Jody (the service guy) came to my home, he assured me that he would have my furnace up and running. He did get it working again and for a reasonable price of $300. A friend of mine also had a similar problem with her furnace and had to pay $450 to the Contractor she used. The service guy also gave my furnace a thorough check up and found that my igniter could possibly go out within three to four months. So, he recommended that I replace it and keep the old one for emergencies. I accepted his recommendation to replace the igniter also. Now I'm cozy and feeling very secure in the fact of knowing that my furnace is really putting out some heat now.

Jody was very kind and professional. He even showed me how to insulate my windows, so I would not have pay someone else to do it in the future.

I purchased the deal on 11/19/14. I received a response from the provider later that evening. The provider gave me several dates that the company was only available during the evenings and several dates afterwards that the company would be available all day. Because I am not available doing the evenings, I chose a date that I would be available during the day (Which was one of the days that the provider said the company would be available. Shortly after I sent that request, I received an email giving me several more dates (this time reflecting dates in the following month). Before I could respond, I received another message stating that the only time available is the date that I originally requested but in the evening. At this point I asked for clarity, because there seems to be a scheduling issue. The provider sent a response, apologizing for the confusion and said that because there are so many that are purchasing the deal, the dates are filling up quickly, however I can be fit into the original date requested at 7-8am. The provider also wanted to know what work did I need done. I responded with an emailing telling the provider that the date and time works out well for me. I also wrote a list of things that I need done around my home. About 30 minutes after I sent the email I received another email from the provider stating the only available time is 6pm. At this point I am very confused about the providers feedback and I didn't understand what was going on. I sent the provider a response shortly there after explaining my confusion. I asked for clarity about the original date and time and asked why did he lock that in and change it so quickly. At this point I felt the company did not take pride in their professionalism. I asked was this a automated messaging system, because the process didn't make sense. I expressed to the provider that perhaps I should get a refund for this deal, because the process for scheduling is too confusing. I was frustrated with the process. The provider responded with an email stating the messages were not automatically generated and that he has a construction company during the day and he does the handyman work on the side. he also said that they just started working weekends. The provider also stated that he would need two days to come to my home to do all of the work. I replied telling the provider that I never requested for him to do all of the work. I told the provider that he requested a list of what I needed done, which is what I sent to him, I never asked him to do all of the work. After all, the deals is only for two hours. I requested that the provider and I schedule a date and lock that date in, because I was ready to move forward. The provider sent an email stating "Okay, let's say December 28 at noon". The process for scheduling started 11/19/14 and we went back and forward with the last email being sent on 11/25/14, only to be given a date for 12/28/14, which is ridiculous. I was not pleased with this process. This was not only exasperating, it was also frustrating.

My bathroom tub has issues every decade or so. I called someone because I also work & really wanted to relax. It's the decade to have a problem with the tub right now,. it started draining out at an unbelievably slow rate (kiss a shower good-bye). I knew & accepted the fact that the plumbing is older than I am a while ago. I chose to call a Handyman service because I saw the deal on the website AND he had a good grade but after he attempted to fix it AND said he'd continue but ASSURED ME IT WOULDN'T HELP AND I saw the tub was getting MORE WATER THAN HE STARTED, I said that's O.K.! He offered to stay and rod it out all while saying IT WON'T WORK! I paid for the service because he showed up & stuck a rod in the drain FOR A MINUTE. I decided to chalk it up as a loss & I'm in the process of fixing it MYSELF!

Be careful before you work with them to make sure you know that they can or cannot do or what they are willing to do.

It went very well. I'm very satisfied with the work. He was on time. He ended on time. He was professional and explained all work to be done in terms that I understood.He gave me a written proposal of job description, and we discussed jobs to be completed. He gave me a typed contract that was clearly written, and explained everything in contract.We both signed contract.He was neat and cleaned up after work was done. He ask me to look at the work, and if I was satisfied to give my approval of completed work. The completed stair work look's great.Windows work great, and look great.His work was very neat and clean. His professional attitude and demeanor was cheerful, and knowledgeable. His pricing was good and honest. I will hire again.

Jody Thompson's remodeling and repairing consisted of: removed an old sink, cabinet, counter top and faucet and replaced it with a new sink, cabinet, counter top, and faucet. replaced the new kitchen ceramic floor tile. installed new rubber baseboards in all 4 (four) rooms. removed and replaced a total of 6 (six) new locks on 3 (three) glass block windows. repaired the walls in 3 (three) rooms with drywall and plaster. removed a damaged folding closet door. repaired a damaged outside steal door and its locks. repaired an outside porch light.

After being dissatisfied with several other contractor's poor workmanship and overpricing on various completed repairs, I was thoroughly disgusted with contractors. Then in 2011, someone told me about Accugage Construction's quality of work after having their forced-air furnance, central air conditioner, humidifier, hot water heater, and some ventilation duct work replaced by them. I immediately called for an estimate on some repairs. Since 2011, I have been totally satisfied with their excellent work, very reasonable prices, and honesty on repairs on my building. Their other various past repairs on my multi-unit building consisted of : removed and replaced a kitchen sink cabinet, faucet, sink, countertop repaired holes in plaster walls and drywall replaced locks on several glass block windows repaired an outside steel door and door lock repaired a folding closet door removed and replaced ceramic floor tile in the kitchen repaired outside front porch light repaired a kitchen sink faucet repaired a double pane window I would give an overall "A" rating to Accugage Construction for Price, Quality, Responsiveness, Punctuality, and Professionalism.
