 + -1 moreMy furnace is over 20 years old. They put the furnace in and has been servicing it ever since. I've never had any problem with my furnace with them. I did have the motor go out and they replaced it and gave me a pretty good price to replace that.
Description of Work: They checked my furnace and system out, checked for carbon monoxide and stuff like that out, and put a new thermostat in for me.

 + -1 moreFrom my experience, they're a great company. It's a family business. It was the father that started it and 20 years later, the children have taken over. The children have the place going and they have good quality work. The father passed it on down to the children and it seems that they are carrying on what he started with quality work.

Description of Work: It was still cold out and the furnace stopped working. I had a new born and toddler home with no heat. They bumped me to the front of the list that morning. They had to fix a dirty sensor and fix a control board. They are honest and reasonable. I've used them a few times and alway recommend them.

 + -1 moreIt went very well, he checked the blower transformer and they all tested ok. This company provides excellent service with a smile.
Description of Work: AC had stopped working over the weekend. It's a very old system (1978) and I couldn't even get the fan to come on automatically from the thermostat. I called Sat. and the repair tech (Sunny) was here Mon. A.M. He determined that a fuse was blown, replaced it and had the system running again all in 15 mins.

Description of Work: The hose on our AC was completely clogged, as happens every year. We needed to unclog the hose but also get advice on how the system was functioning. The rep did everything a professional should do, found the problem and gave us a bigger hose. We have signed with them for 6 month checks of our heating and AC. A couple of my neighbors recommended them and that is why we used them.

 + -1 moreI first contacted McGinnis in December after the theft occurred and they provided a quote for a new unit and a security cage. Due to delays with the insurance funds and not wanting to install a unit without a renter in the house, I did not have the work done until May and they honored the original quote. The work was quality, though the lock that was initially installed on the security cage was a standard padlock, which I replaced with a specialty security cage lock which is the only reason I give a B on quality. I though about giving a B on punctuality because they rescheduled at the last second, but they got the work done the next day.
Description of Work: McGinnis replaced a central air conditioner unit that had been stolen over the winter.

 + -1 moreLeft a message on the business answering service Sunday evening and their tech Joey was at my home Monday. He checked my furnace (that had stopped putting out heat altogether) and based on the screeching noise that I told him that it was making prior, to not working altogether, he told me my inducer motor needed to be replaced. He quoted me a price and how long it would take to get the motor and replace the old one with a new one. 30/30. He did exactly that, and was nice and polite the whole time. That's what I like about them, they are always a pleasure to do business with.
Description of Work: Replaced inducer motor on my furnace.

 + -1 moreTwo guys came. They were kind, curteous, attentive, and punctual. They answered all my questions and did not try to get me to make unnecessary purchases. I was concerned about them charging an arm and leg, but they did not. They did not take long doing there job either. I plan to use them in the future and refer them to others.
Description of Work: Provider found leak and told me the price of a new tank compared to the price of a fix it job, I was also told about how long my tank would last. I was giving all the details to every question I asked. I decided to have unit repaired. They did a goo job, I have not had any leaks since. I must also say that I used their air conditioning services too. I forgot I used them. It was over five years ago. They did a goog job then too.

 + -1 moreMy hot water heater wouldn't stay lit and the guy couldn't find the problem even though he came out twice. Therefore, I ended up going with another company who solved the problem and fixed it. Otherwise, the guy was very professional, polite, and courteous.

Description of Work: I called Thurs. a.m. and requested for someone to come out to check my furnace that was making a loud screeching noise when turned on, and it didn't seem like there was any warm air coming out of the vents. After trying this for several days I just turned the system off cause I was afraid to use it. I called Mcginnis htg & clg Thurs a.m. and their guy (Sonny) was at my home before noon.He checked the furnace and advised me the blower motor could be going bad but at this point it was still alright and useable just noisey. He also checked my ac system (central) and said that it was fine and would get me thru the summer (its a very old system). In the pricing of the service call I found it was very reasonable and I also took advantage of the maintainence sevice plan for future service calls. I have used this company in past years for my ac/furnace needs and am ALWAYS impressed by their courteousness and professionalisim.I highly recommend them to anyone needing ac or furnace work done.
