Next Door & Window

We called them out to give us a quote on widows. They were the first people that we had quote so we did not know much about windows. After meeting with them we were impressed with the quality of service. He gave us a quote and by the end of the conversation was asking "how much would we like to pay?" This made me feel as if I was dealing with a used car salesman. I therefore got 5 other quotes. NEXT was the highest by over 50%. We got the exact same windows with excellent installers and paid $20,00 instead of their quoted $36,000. I know they sell their excellent service but I am sorry there is no service for windows that is worth $16,000. Beware and make sure you get other quotes. We were also very offended by how we felt he totally took advantage of our lack of knowledge in windows.They may have good windows and service, but just beware that you are probably paying a premium for that!!

Service was excellent. They keep me informed every step of the way. No pleasure and very trustworthy. Excellent craftsmanship .

It went great. The window wood had rotted and the glass was cracked on the 2nd floor. They matched the woodwork within the rest of the house, installed the window in the time frame they committed to, cleaned the room and rehung the drapes when they were done. Very professional and easy to work with.

Four men worked four days. When work was finished you had no clue anyone had done window install. Both inside and outside was cleaned up excellently. The everwood stain matched the house decor perfectly and no paint lines when trim was installed. The trim and the windows were stained in the warehouse not our house.

We were very pleased with the entire process of having our new patio (sliding) door installed. From the initial estimate, to the day of installation, the service we received from everyone at NEXT was exceptional. All of our questions were answered prior to ordering our new door and we never felt pressured to order something other than what we originally wanted. After ordering our new patio door, we were kept updated as to the status of the order and when the delivery and installation would occur. On the day of installation, everything went well and the installers were very professional. We are very satisfied with our new patio door.

We initially contacted Next Door & Window because we knew we wanted Marvin windows but weren't sure which line and they were one of the few that carried both Infinity and Integrity windows. Everyone we worked with was very professional and helpful and overall it was a very pleasant process - and we LOVE our new windows. The only tip I have is to do your research in advance. The salesman was steering us toward the Infinity windows but I already had pretty specific ideas about what I was looking for and asked to see the Integrity - which we ended up preferring.

There were some bumps in the road to getting our windows installed, but the owner of the company was obviously not aware of these issues until we placed a review up re; their services. To make things right, he hand wrote an apology letter and made things right at last.. This was not something he had to do by any means, but he did and that speaks volumes to us about their company. They truly do care, and a handwritten letter said that to us and more.

The project went very well. We opted for the full frame replacement because it means less exterior caulk joints, less aluminum trim to cover the old frame if it was left in place, and allows for larger window openings. The company did a good job of measuring and removal of the old windows with no damage on the interior or exterior of our home.

I had wood windows with aluminum exterior facing that were about 25 years old. A number of them had bad seals or the interior wood was discolored due to moisture over the years. I had no luck finding replacement seals and my wife really disliked how the interior wood was looking so we chose to replace all windows rather than replace just the bad ones. If you choose wood windows you better plan on resealing them regularly. We decided on the Marvin fiberglass windows because of how wood like they looked and the quality of the constructions. Vinyl wood look options just had a cheap look. Marvin fiberglass windows are not cheap but I was able to negotiate some off of the initial Next Door and Window price. Everyone from Next Door and Window were professional in their dealings with me. Included in the price was removal of entire window including frame, Other companies may be cheaper by leaving in the old frame but i wanted all new. The price also included our choice of stains for the windows and interior trim in the Next Door and Window factory (eliminates in home mess). The on-site new window installation included foam insulation to fill any air gaps, the interior trim pieces, and filling of any small brad nail holes from the trim installation. .Installation went well though it took longer than expected since only a 2 man crew showed up when i was expecting a 4 man crew. Finishing up was a bit rushed so the walk through and demo of how to work the windows was rushed but turned out ok. We were missing one screen and noticed one trim board that looked bad after they left. Both were taken care without incident but took a little while till they came back out. Conclusion: I could have spent less elsewhere but i expected quality, paid for quality, and received quality. In hindsight, i would choose Next Door and Window again and recommend them to friends and family.

All Installs ( doors, windows etc) , arenNOT provided by his company-they hire "contractors" . This means, we have learned, that little to no care of the installation, surrounding drywall, or gardens you may have outside, that you placed signs around asking for them to not step on them, (which were more than avoidable, we have 2 small gardens in total-both were RUINED). Best part was this contracted out group of workers from Next Door & Window. All were English speaking americans, (we don't are about that, but it does mean signs placed were properly read and conversations between us well understood. This is where the best part of this group comes in, The "foreman" of the group had hired his younger brother to begin working with them, first day on the job was at our house. He try out 3 windows unsupervised, and also tore out large chunks of drywall and paint along with them-no one was supervising him, and we weren't around to supervise as we were told we must keep our dogs outside, which we did. We would have seen the missing pieces of wall when the damage occurred otherwise , but when we did see it, we callrf this company and they said they were not responsible as it was the contracted groups problem, and of course, there was no way of contacting them, so we had to do all repairs to the wall ourselves. That was fun, considering we had just painted 6 months prior and didn't think we should have to do any more improvements that way?..we were wrong, so out came the mud, sandpaper and once again paint( 5 coats of mud on the kitchen window by the way). This damage could have been avoided by the new kid on the crew being supervised and told to run a razor blade along the frame and paint of window before pulling, (yanking more like it), out. Since then we have had this company back out 4 times for mold growth on now of the windows the new guy on the job installed. We were told it was out fault, and that the shades should never be closed) it's the window to our bedroom). We did follow their instructions, but had them out 2 more times with the same mold growth after following their instructions until we decided to call real professionals. Sure enough, the window was not installed properly and water had been getting into the frame We had them PROPERLY fix it, full tear etc which we paid for out of pocket, despite this companies "lifetime guarantee " , which includes labor, call outs, replacement of windows, screens etc. Long story short, if you're looking for new windows to replace your old, se this company and you'll have more problems than you did with your old, or my advice, keep looking!

I felt that the salesperson was a bit unprofessional. I had indicated that I had other estimates, and he used a sales tactic that said if I "signed" tonight he could give me a discount, but it was a discount only available for that evening and I had to sign that night. I didn't feel pressured because I had already received other estimates that were from reputable "A" rated on Angie's List that were much lower. The salesperson's response was, "well we aren't the cheapest, and were aren't the most expensive".

In and out in two days, no problems very professional. Top notch work, cleaned up to the point that you never would of known they did any work to my house. I would highly recomend them for any window or door replacement work.

Very responsive, listened to what we wanted and made appropriate recommendations. Arrived on time and as scheduled, professional crew, high quality installation. Sales person continued to follow up throughout the project to ensure everything was going as planned and we were happy (didn't sell and leave). Did an excellent job which led us to use the, for subsequent work and recommend to family/friends and all were equally as happy. Highly recommend!

We had 3 windows replaced and a front storm door. It took us a while to decide on the type of window we wanted to buy. There are many choices between material and style (slider, double hung, casement, etc.) all with different price points and features and benefits. And then the different colors and trim! If I were asked what could have been better it would had been our salesman could have helped us better organize our decision out of all these different possibilities. And gave us more help with what colors to pick for our style house. He did present every option, but because everything has a different cost to it I began to doubt if I was getting the best deal for my dollar. Could just be a function of buying windows. In the end it cost more than I'd thought it would, which may add to my feelings on paying a lot for the project. The happy ending is we are quite pleased with the quality of the Marvin window (slider, external color, internal white) and the door. I was super impressed by the technician who came to measure the windows, the installers, and the visit to trim out the interior framing. One window was damaged in shipment, but was not discovered until it was installed. The installers promptly told me the issue and had already ordered a replacement which came 3 weeks later. Different crew to install the storm door. It is very nice. It is a quite large French door style. It works perfectly. I have more windows to buy once the weather warms up and I can save more money. I'll be using Next Door and Window again, assuming they don't raise their prices that much! I am glad I got high quality windows with a good installation. I would not be bragging about how little I paid if Id gotten crap.

I used Next Door & Window in Naperville, and would never EVER let them near my home again. They took a shortcut when installing a sliding glass door at deckside. Adeck board should have been removed to give access, but they just smashed the frame down and CRUSHED the entire aluminum flashing that keeps water out of my house ! Water streams poured into the basement below, where there was drywall and ruined it. Another window would leak during rainstorms, and until there was a PUDDLE OF RAINWATER visible on a photo, they would not believe it. That took YEARS to resolve. They came out again and again over a period of YEARS, and wouldn't do a water test for a long time. Finally they did.

I got some basic information but was given an ultimatum that I needed to have an at home sales call in order to get a quote. I felt that this was too much of an intrusion for me and I later decided that I would look elsewhere. I was given a rough quote and the price seemed better suited towards the upper 5%. I asked what happens in a warranty situation and all I got was "you call us" which was not reassuring enough to justify the premium prices.

Exceptional. I've replaced all my doors and windows over a five year horizon. Quality is tops, service and workmanship is impeccable. Roberto is the 'go to' guy!

Very impressed with Next Door and Window - sales representative, service contacts and installers all technically well informed, professional and conscientious. Delivery of some materials delayed from factory, but we were kept informed and rescheduled start date was met. Excellent workmanship, attention to detail and cleanup. Highly recommend this company.

Very happy with Mike the salesman, who explained things thoroughly. Crew arrived on time, windows didn't (truck was delayed on the highway somewhere). The crew started by removing the old storms and screens. Eventually, they had done as much as they could and the windows still hadn't arrived. They asked permission to remove many of the old windows at once to keep the job moving. The risks were that the house would be open to the outside (and it was a very windy day), and that the new windows had better be the right size. They assured me that the measurements had been carefully done and checked. I said OK. When the windows arrived (a couple hours late), the crew worked very well together and got them all installed. The crew was very experienced and used to working together, so they could work professionally and carefully but still at a really good pace and got the job done.

Happy with salesman Mike. Crew and windows and shutters arrived on time, work done well and professionally, crew cleaned up thoroughly. Very happy with the whole experience.

Upon coming to an agreement with the Next salesman, some time passed before there was much in the way of follow up. I knew there would be time for the doors to be ordered and manufactured. After a few weeks had passed, I called to inquire about the status, and was told the doors were ready for installation. Someone would be contacting me to set up the installation. Again, I waited about a week and had not heard from anyone, so I called in. I was able to then schedule the installation. From that point forward, it was completely smooth sailing. On the day of installation, the workers showed up on time. They explained everything they would be doing and kept me updated throughout the day. They were very friendly, very courteous, and very professional. It was obvious that they were skilled craftsman. Ours is a very old house, so the installation took some creativity and care. They finished on schedule, and took great care to clean up after themselves. The doors look and operate perfectly. I am very satisfied and would recommend their work.
