The representative was punctual for the quotation appointment and answered all of our questions to our satisfaction. He was flexible in revising the quotation several times based on our requests. Our home tested positive for lead paint, and Next charged a fee for lead mitigation. Competitive quotations we received did not have an up-charge for lead. This is the reason I gave a B grade for price rather than an A. They were not the least expensive, but we felt they offered the best value. For the casement windows, we designed our own grill, and the finished product met our expectations. We needed to have the windows installed by the end of the year to qualify for an energy tax credit, and they were installed as promised before the end of the year. We were concerned about window installation in the middle of a northern Illinois winter, but the installers covered the window openings with plastic to prevent debris and the cold from coming into the house. The yard was covered in snow and ice, but the installers cleaned up the job site well upon completion. The installers were courteous, and we felt comfortable allowing them to work in the house while we were away. The workmanship was very good. The exterior required aluminum covering over the sill and frame of the windows. The metal forming was clean, and the caulking looks very good. The windows operate well and we are satisfied with the product and the installation.

We had one of Next Door & Windows sales reps come out to give us a quote on a new fiberglass front door and storm door. My only problem with the whole experience was the sales rep did not seem to know their products very well which was a turn off for us. We were even looking for a pretty basic front door and storm door with no real bells or whistles. He might have been a new employee or something? Regardless, we decided to go with a different company. Next Door's quote was about $500.00 higher then the company we went with for the exact same front door and storm door made by the same companies. I would probably get a quote from them again in the future if we decide to get a new door on our back door or basement door because they received great reviews from all their other clients on Angie's List.

They were extremely efficient, professional, and did a beautiful job. I have no complaints what so ever with them. I can?t talk about the price because I got top of the line products and I did not get another quote. I was surprised with the price but I think I got what I paid for. They not only replaced the windows but all the oak stained wood work was replaced on the inside of the windows all over the house as well. It was a big job. I might have got it cheaper from somewhere else but I did not check. The crew was fantastic and the sales man was also fantastic. I will definitely use them again if needed in the future.

It went extremely well. Because we switched from double hung to casement everything was custom made. The made sure that the new windows fix exactly right. They were very good. They slipped in new trim and we can't even tell they put in new trim and it fits perfectly everywhere. We will definitely use them again.

Call for an estimate. Liked the product. They came and installed the windows and did a great job. Very professional. Clean up after themselves. Can only say good things. Would hire them again.

very helpful choosing the right product- went over all the options and their pluses and minuses. Actually steered me away from the most expensive option as not worth the extra money. Installers were fast, quiet, and left the place looking as good as when they started.

Terrific! The new doors have a much tighter seal which had helped tremendously with drafts. They look wonderful and we have already been receiving compliments from neighbors. Staff was courteous, installation was prompt and there were not any problems. Would highly recommend.

We saw good reviews of Next Door on the Internet and visited their store in Naperville. The salesman was very low pressure both in the store and when he came to our home to finalize our choice of options and take measurements. Later, the installer arrived to verify the measurements and to determine whether there would be any problems to address. We were told that there was a 6-8 weeks wait to have the door installed and it was actually 9 weeks before it was installed. That was not a problem for us, but we were so filled with anticipation. The installer was scheduled to arrive at 9 a.m., and arrived at 8:45, which was wonderful. The installer started to work immediately taking the molding off and removing the old storm doors. Then the driver arrived who brought the new doors and helped to carry and balance them for a short while until they were secure. Then, that driver hauled away the old doors and trim. The installer worked by himself, not taking a break, not making comments, but was completely focused on his work. He re-inforced the threshold and placed insulation between the bricks and the door frame, and also under the threshold. He checked and adjusted the level continuously, securing the shims with long screws through the hinges so that the shims and their anchors were not visible. It was a great technique. He spent a long time making sure that the door handles were centered and leveled since we had double doors with handles. He hung the double storm doors equally as efficiently and well. We supplied PVC exterior trim and the installer had no problem using it instead of the usual materials. We also supplied our own oak interior trim and the installer mitered and hung those boards very competently and without comment. When the work was finished, he cleaned up the front porch and front walk where he had placed his tools and cut wood to fit, etc. He picked up his cardboard from our entry and the area was very clean. The entire installation of double entry doors and double storm doors took about 3.5 hours. We were delighted with our doors and the professionalism and capability of the installer.

Salesperson was professional and down-to-earth. We knew what we wanted, so there wasn't much in the way of selecting products. He did a good job explaining the new lead testing rules and procedures. We did have exterior lead paint, so they needed to use lead abatement procedures (which seemed quite professional). The installed doors and windows work and look great. The crew was professional, and they contained and cleaned up the mess well. They accidentally installed the wrong type of window sill on a couple windows, but they quickly made me aware of it and fixed the problem with no hassle.

They were accommodating, friendly and helpful. They did not try to up sell us on anything. One window we were planning on replacing, they recommend us to cap it instead. They actually figured out what we wanted and made sure that it was something reasonable.

The salesman (Dan) was very knowledgeable and most helpful in making all the necessary selections. His suggestions, as he lead us through the process, made selecting the various options easy. Signed contract on 5/3, with estimated installation in 4 to 6 weeks. Actual delivery and installation was approximately 7.5 weeks. Manufacturer delivery was delayed 10 days. It would have been appreciated if they called with order status instead of my having to call them for a status.

They were very professional. At the shop they sent me home with many brochures, so I could find the right door. They arrived right on time for the installation. The time estimate was 15 minutes earlier than expected. They do a nice clean job.

Our old garden window was defective and had to be replaced. We talked to several other vendors, and found that none of them could provide a garden window as wide as we required. The NEXT sales representative was very helpful in guiding us through a number of alternative replacement windows. We decided to purchase another Garden window, which was built by a company called Provia. The two installers arrived at the promised time on the morning of May 26. They were polite, cooperative, and hard working. The existing trim was reused, but they adjusted the trim position so it was compatible with the height of the back splash of a new counter top that was being installed later by another vendor. The quality of the workmanship was very good, and the window did not leak in a driving thunderstorm the next day! Our old window always leaked in such a storm. We had elected to purchase an optional shelf with the window. We were not satisfied with the shelf, and NEXT arranged to return the shelf to Provia and issue a credit. Otherwise the window seems to be a high quality build. NEXT also replaced our front double doors in November 2009. We were highly satisfied with their work on that project.

This report is for the Bridgeview location. I had several quotes from a few companies including a Home Depot(They are the worst!). All the quotes were about the same. I was researching getting a new door for months. My front door is an odd size and had to be custom fit. One day, I took a trip to their office armed with the information that I gathered from my months of research. After talking with the reps at the Bridgeview location, I knew I wanted to deal with them. Even though I knew what I wanted to buy, the rep still sent a sales man, Ron Burns to my home to double check the door/storm door we picked. On the day Ron showed up, he took the time to measure and explain the whole process. We signed the contract and gave them a deposit on 09NOV09. The doors took 7 weeks to make(custom size). The installer came on 05JAN10 to install it. The installer came on time and equiped with all the neccessary tools and parts needed to install the doors. It took 6 hours to install from start to finish. The installer could have finished it faster, but he took his time to make sure it was done right and his attention to detail was amazing!!!! Once complete, the installer cleaned up and hauled away the old doors and debris. He took the time to explain how the new doors function and answer any questions.

Great. The 3 installers arrived just after 9am and were gone by 3pm. Each one put protective cardboard down on the inside floors and each cleaned up afterward quite well. The one problem with the whole experience was the front door color. I was buying a fiberglass door in wood tone. I was told that the swatches may not be the exact color of the door. And then when talking with the salesman later over the phone he said he was told that the cedar color I picked would be redder than the swatch so I wasn't sure what I would get. I spent the 8 weeks waiting from the time of order to the time of installation hoping that I would like the color. Thankfully I do.

They were too expensive. They were going to do more work, but we didn't need that. As far as knowledge and explaining things, they were the best. They were excellent. I definitely would of used them if their price wasn't so out of range.

The management company made arrangements with Hugh to call them when they windows were being installed. He never did and no one could inspect the work. I did not know about the install until they sent me the invoice. There were some communication issues. In my home they installed a single window. They had to move furniture, but they never moved it back. The price was fair. They stuck to the estimate. There were some communication problems.

We are not finished as yet. We did go with them and so far it has been a good experience. They were responsive and answered our phone calls and our questions. They were nice people. They were punctual and came at the time they told us they were going to be there. They were professional. They are supposed to come out for the installation in the next two or three weeks. We will definitely use them in the future and I would recommend them.

Angie's list should clearly state when vendores are NOT willing to serivce things they did not install. It will save users much time. I was looking for someone to service my front door (8" tall, has uneven gap between door edge and jamb). Ratings attracted me to this vendor along with the following statement on their web site: " Our business relationship does not end after the product is installed. We will be here when you need us whether it is with something that we installed or a problem with something we did not install. This has been our family?s tradition for more than fifty years." When I called them, they said they dont service doors installed by others and said they will correct the web site. Too bad because they appear to have a good reputation. I also wondered that in quickly turning me down, how much future business they may have lost as my next project is to replace many windows.

Excellent, from start to finish. We went with Marvin casement aluminum clad wood windows. Our salesman Dan Wojcik is personable, informative and low pressure. He was patient and answered our questions without trying to pressure us into buying. It took about 8 weeks total to get our windows, 6 to get them into the store and another 2 for pre-finishing. The whole installation was completed within three days. The install crew did an excellent job of installing and cleaning up afterwards each day. There were a few wall scratches from the install but most importantly they did not chip our granite or tile surrounds in the kitchen and bathroom. They were a few minor things that need fixing and they were prompt in coming back to do touch ups. The windows look GREAT, I would highly recommend prefinishing, it's more expensive than hiring a separate person but totally worth the convenience of not stinking up the house or dealing with more delays in finishing the job. We are still waiting on a few small parts to complete the minor things and then we are all done. The whole office is pleasant and courteous when you call. They are clearly an excellent company.

It was perfect. Our visit to the showroom was great. The salesperson was very informative with the pricing, warranty etc., he was very good. The installation was perfect. They took the old door away too, no problems.

The windows are guaranteed for life even through the next owner. My overall experience has been good and I will continue to use their services.
