Voi Tek Painting

Excellent. The painter was prompt in arriving each day, cleaned up everything at the end of each day, and did an excellent job patching and filling holes.

I called Voi Tek Painting to come out and give me an estimate for some drywall repair and painting. We set up an appointment and he never showed. After waiting 30 minutes I called to find out if he was still coming or if we needed to reschedule. He said that he was in Chicago and that "traffic was bad" so we rescheduled for the next day. A few minutes before our next appointment he called to say that he would be running 10 minutes late because it was raining hard; I told him that I appreciated his letting me know and that the brief delay he mentioned was no problem at all. He was an hour late. When he showed up he seemed to carefully review the work I needed done and I felt he gave me a reasonable estimate. He estimated that the work would take 4 days. I immediately hired him and we agreed that the work would begin the week of 05/23/16. I told him that I would take leave from work to be there while the work was being done (to answer any questions as they came up, etc). He said that he would call me on Friday (05/20) to let me know when they would start the work and that he would come out on Saturday (05/21) for me to pick out paint. He never called me on that Friday and he never came over on Saturday. Saturday afternoon I called to find out when the work was starting. He called me back on Sunday and asked me when I would like for them to start the work. I said "Tuesday" and he said he wasn't sure if that was possible. He said that he would call me on Monday evening (05/23) to let me know if the work would start on Tuesday if it would be on Wednesday. He didn't call on Monday. I waited until after 8:30 pm on Monday to call and he returned my call saying that he had lost his phone. He went on to explain that they were trying to finish a project for "dangerous people" and that this situation has never happened to him in 15 years. He said that they would come out on Thursday to do the work (and that he would call me on Wednesday to let me know what time they would arrive). I wasn't thrilled but I was OK with them starting on Thursday. He called me on Tuesday asking if they could reschedule me in a few weeks or if it was "important" that they come out this week. I reminded him that I was on leave from work, specifically for this project. He said that I didn't need to be here while they are working. I reminded him that I have two dogs that are in the home and he said that they could let them out. I reminded him that the dogs were rescued and fearful of strangers so that wouldn't work. I confirmed that it was "important" for the work to begin. He then said that one of his workers was out sick. He said that if they started on Thursday that only one worker could come out and that would make the project take longer. I said that I understood and that I was OK with that. He said that he would call me on Wednesday to let me know when someone would be out on Thursday. He didn't call me on Wednesday. I waited until 8:45 pm and called him. He called me back within 10 minutes and asked if he could call me back in 15 minutes. I said that was fine. He called me an hour later. He again repeated that he was trying to finish a project for "dangerous people" and that this had never happened to him before. He seemed legtimately upset with the other project he was working on but that should not have affected his ability to call me when he said he was going to call me. He said that someone would be out on Friday and that he would call me on Thursday to let me know the time to expect them. I was not happy but I wanted this project done so I verbally confirmed with him three times that he would call me on Thursday to let me know when someone would be out on Friday. He said yes. He didn't call me on Thursday. At this point I didn't think there was any value to calling him Thursday evening and waited to call him on Friday. I left a message saying that he didn't call me on Thursday, no one came out today (Friday), that I wasted five vacation days and that he never followed through on one single thing he told me and that he was fired. He called me back within a few minutes saying he would like to reschedule me for a few weeks from now. He again brought up the "dangerous people" and that they had to finish that project first. I reiterated the points in the message I had left him, said that I no didn't trust him and said that he was fired. He said, "I'm sorry."

He is really good. The pricing is really good. His guys are very conscientious. They do a good job. The painting looks great. I actually had a problem this time and he is in the middle of fixing it because you do run into problems. In terms of quality and pricing, he is very good. I think what is important with painting outside of the house is the prep work and that was excellent. The preparation was great; it is the scrapping, the cleaning, the plotting and getting rid of the rotted wood. He did a phenomenal job. The powder room was probably $500 and the laundry room that he is finishing up now will be about $500.

He was punctual and responsive. He was fairly priced and did a good job. He had a crew come who worked and got the job done relatively and fast. My neighbor also subsequently used them and was very happy with them. I will definitely use them again.

They were very nice, very efficient and were very timely. They were reasonable too and did a good job. We were not displeased at all.
