Fine. The plumber was a pro and took the time to diagnose things carefully before he started actual work. When he was done, everything worked and he left no mess behind.

S&K was incredible! We had called another company prior to come troubleshoot the problem and paid a couple hundred bucks for them to tell us that our pipes were just loose. An issue which apparently we had to live with or try to tie them down a bit better. So we attempted to live through the tapping and rattling for another two weeks and something just didn't seem right. Enter S & K! They came out right away and it only took them 15 minutes to figure out that we had an old/bad pump in our master toilet. And that was the source of the problem. Boni ran out and got the part for us and installed it within minutes. We havent heard a peep since! Bliss! Great response, great diagnostics, great service!

Boni and Eric from S&K came out and assessed that the previous installation was not up to village code (which led to the leaky valve.) Additionally, there was no pan underneath the unit so water just flooded the room. We determined it would be best if they basically just "reinstalled" the water heater and bring it up to code. They were very honest, professional, and were not pushy. They discussed the cost prior to doing all of the work and gave options. We agreed on the approach and they completed the work in about an a half. They evened cleaned up when they were done!

Brian was helpful on the phone, had a tech out to us the same day to rod the sewer line to the house. Boni was prompt and quick with the job. I use them every year and they've never let me down

We moved into a long ranch house in 2012 which is dual zoned so we have 2 water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners and out going sewer lines. We have used S&K since our moving in. We have had significant plumbing work done by S&K. This includes replacing both sewer lines exiting the house, basic plumbing clean out work, replaced water heater 1 in December 2012 and then the current work. The S&K crew is always on-time, communicates the work clearly, leaves the work area clean and returns promptly whenever we have had questions after the work is completed. We definitely recommend and will use S&K Plumbing for future plumbing projects.

The man came and carried himself well, He respected my home. He was professional and knew his job well. He was also very respectful of me.

It went fine, very reasonable price and fast.

It went great. I first called them when the water started pouring out of the cabinet below the kitchen sink. They came over and told me we need a part that we should call Grohe direct because it's under lifetime warranty. They could have bought the part & charged us but they didn't. Once we rec'd the part they came over that day to install it so we wouldn't be without a kitchen sink for another weekend. Since I had called that day he at first wasn't sure he could fit us in but realized how desperate I was and found a way. The following week we decided to have the spigot on the rear of our house replaced since it didn't have a strong flow and we called them again. When we got the quote they were pretty sure they'd have to cut a hole in the basement ceiling to get to the water line but when they started doing the job they found a way to avoid cutting a hole - hence saving us some money. We will use them again & recommend them highly.

Overall, the worksite was left in much worse condition afterwards than before. They were supposed to simply replace a spout in a bathtub. Unfortunately, when they removed the old spout, they damaged the piping behind the wall and had to remove tile to fix the damage they caused. They then left without replacing the tile, leaving an enormous hole in the wall of my bathroom (Pictures have been taken showing the enormous hole in the wall). Thus, the overall quality of their work was horrible and an utter failure. In terms of time, replacing a bathroom spout is an easy project that can easily be done in one hour by any competent plumber. In this case, however, it took two full days, and even then the job was left undone, as the bathtub and shower are not usable due to the giant hole in the wall they left. The only thing that the manager Brian did in response to the damage he caused was refer me to a tile specialist that he works with frequently. Hiring the specialist in would cost me even more money to fix the problem that the plumbers caused. When I attempted to make an appointment with the specialist, the specialist cancelled the appointment and I never heard from him again. Thus, the responsiveness that this firm had in responding to the problems that they caused was horrible and completely inadequate. The cost of the work, which is still ongoing, was $475 and counting. All this just for changing a bathroom spout. This is a completely simple job that could be done for easily $150. What bothered me most was Brian's refusal to accept responsibility for his company's actions. Instead of taking responsibility for the damage he caused, he simply said that it was due to the installer or some other plumber's fault. I found this very frustrating and insulting, and this is the main reason that I strongly advise anyone against hiring this company. They cause a lot of damage, then charge extra to fix the damage they they caused. It's an easy, aged trick to add to their billing.

Jeff was punctual and courteous. He came out once and then a second time to finalize the estimate. When he came out the second time, he had forgotten the quote that had been prepared ahead of time, so he created the quote on the spot. It was more than double what others quoted. As an example, we had water pipes going to the second floor that we wanted cut off and capped - easily accessible - $325.

I've thought long and hard before submitting this review, since I have used this plumber on several occasions and was satisfied. I set up an appointment and Jeff was supposed to send someone at 3:15. I rushed home from work and as I was driving, my phone rang, and it was Jeff asking if it would be more convenient if someone came first thing the next morning. I told him no, that I had rushed home from work. He said he would be at my house in 45 minutes, which was after the scheduled appointment time. That wasn't a big deal. I guess there was a mix up, and the plumber who was supposed to come to my house, did not remember, and ended up going home. What disappointed me with the service, and the reason why I will never use this company again, was the lack of professionalism. When he got to my door, I asked if he would mind putting on booties. He went out to the truck and couldn't find any booties in the truck, since he hadn't expected to be the one to do my service call. Since I had just had my carpet cleaned, I asked if he would please take off his shoes since he did not have booties. When I suggested this, he stated: "I am not allowed to take off my shoes. If I took off my shoes, and got injured in your house, I would have to sue you". At that point, I said: "Let's just forget about the call". After I said this, he said: "I'll take off my shoes, let me just do this already......I drove all the way out here and I need to get it done, because I have to pick up my cat from the vet". Enough said. This conversation speaks for itself. When I repeat what was said to me to others, they cannot believe that a professional said those things to me. I really felt that I needed to give this feedback and to make sure that it was shared with the owners of this company.

It's the first time I've ever used them. I called them back because I didn't hear the sump pump. He came back the next day to make sure that it was working and it was. It was so much quieter than the one we had so I thought that was very nice that he took the time to do that for me. I was convinced it wasn't turned down.

Called to repair a leak in the kitchen and replace a shower spout and they had someone come out the same day. Very pricey for the amount of time the repair actually took, but it was quality work that was done.

No replies to 2 Angie's List Messages sent on 8/29/13 and 10/4/13. Two day response to contact via form on company web site. Good communication after that which included a referral. This kind of review is tough. On the zero response from Angie's List Messages I would give an F rating. On the two day respond to web site contact form I would give a B rating. For the good communication after and the referral I would give an A rating. The average of all this is a C rating. I would use them again.

I got them from Angie's List. Honestly, they are the best plumbers I have ever run into. The nicest people. They are the most helpful. They were recommended to me from somebody I used to work with and I remembered sort of the name, then I got on Angie's List and all the reviews about them were excellent.

He was in and out in an hour and a half. He knew what he was doing and was very professional.

My sewer line was backing up, and through a camera feed I learned that two pipes had settled and were not properly lined up. There were roots blocking the pipes as well. From the start, it was obvious that Jeff and his crew are very professional. They took steps to protect my yard and work around several large trees. During the process of digging to reach the pipes, additional issues were discovered. Jeff showed me what they found and explained what the problems were and why the settling had occurred. A previous repair was done incorrectly. After completing the digging and removing as many of the roots in the area as possible, they replaced the pipes properly with gravel underneath, put in a clean-out, and filled the hole back up, taking time to tamp down the dirt and leave my yard clean. They were professional and efficient, and their work was complemented by the inspector as well.

Very honest, very reliable, don't talk you into anything you don't need. I would highly recommend them.

We had a flood on Sunday caused by water backing up through the toilet which then leaked down into the basement and shorted out some electrical. Since we just bought the home we had a Home Warranty so we called them and a plumber came out Sunday afternoon to inspect the situation. There was no outside access to the lines so we had to take a chance and break open the seal in the basement and hope we had enough buckets to catch the overflow. That all worked out well but when he tried to rod the line he could only go in a few feet and then was stopped. Apparently, the pipes were broken outside and the connection had sunk lower therefore he could not get the rod through. What this meant is that we were going to have to rip up our brick paver patio outside to get the pipes fixed. S&K Plumbing was recommended to us by a neighbor so we called Jeff on Monday to come out for a quote. Their price was very reasonable so we contracted them and they were out here the next morning (Tues) at 8:30am sharp, just as they said. They started by reviewing the area and carefully removing the patio blocks which are in a complicated circular pattern and not just laid straight which would of been much easier. Besides that the electrical and cable lines were running right through the middle of the area that needed to be dug out. They dug down to the pipes and replaced the iron pipe leading from the inside of the house through the foundation wall. All went very smoothly. In addition to fixing the pipe they installed a new clean out so we now have access from the exterior of the house. They back filled the hole, tamped it down and smoothed everything out. They then replaced all the patio pavers BETTER then they were previously. They were here for 10 hours and we could not be any happier with their quality and professionalism to "do things the right way". We will be recommending them to everybody we know.

Although having a jack hammer blow a hole in your floor is not a pleasant experience and the concrete dust goes everywhere, the job was done professionally and on time. Jeff took care of the building permit and his men cleaned up inside and out. We have a house to dust, but that was expected. After the additional charge, we were still under 2 of the 4 bids, and I assume everyone would have required more money to overcome the two unexpected problems in the den. Overall S&K did a great job getting us back to "normal" with showers, laundry, and toilets. Thanks Jeff

Brian came to evaluate our pipes to determine that we only had a noisey water meter. He took the time to evaluate all the bathrooms for possible leaks and determined that there were none. Only gave a B for punctuality even though he did call me to tell me he was running late, but had to call a 2nd time because he was given the wrong address. Plan on calling them for an estimate to remodel bathrooms.

I had some water issues in my basement and it came in over the window wells. We were expecting to have to rod the drainpipes and I had taken an estimate for that. They scoped out the drainpipes with a camera and told me that the pipes were good and they wouldn't have to rod them. They said that they didn't want to rod them because they may sometimes be plastic pipes and rodding them may cause damage. I had already agreed to get the rodding of my pipes done for $350, and I have to say that I don't know too many companies that would tell me that they would not do a job because they felt that I didn't need it. That guy could have stayed down in the basement for an hour and I wouldn't have known whether he rodded the pipes or not. He could have charged me the $350 that I had agreed to and I would have paid it and I wouldn't have been any the wiser. They were very honest. I later had problems with a toilet and they came out and fixed that for me. They always ask me while they are here if there was anything else that I needed done or if there was anything else that was causing a problem. They are very thorough and they come on time. I think that plumbers are expensive but they aren't out to make a quick buck and that was what impressed my husband and me.

It is now working very well. He did a great job. He took the time to test it and found the problem. He came and told me the problem and fixed it right away. He also wore booties. I would definitely call them again.

Within minutes of each other our sump pump died and our biennial sewer line clog occurred. On Christmas Eve. We called S & K at about 11 a.m. and reached their emergency service, who said she'd have them call us. They called in very short order to hear what the problem was and to give us an ETA. They were there by 1:30 p.m., after the promised call ahead of time to say they were coming. Brian and his teammate arrived and got to work immediately. In very short order they had us cleaned out, tree roots and all. They had to go through the garage, where the sump pump is located, to get to the backyard cleanout, and Brian was ready to dig into the sump pump issue as soon as he saw there was a problem (until my husband assured him we had that one handled). This in spite of the fact that it was Christmas Eve and we were the last call scheduled for that afternoon. You would never have known there was anyplace they'd rather be. The ONLY reason for the "B" on price is that the service fee stung a little, but given that it was 1. and emergency and 2. a holiday, we really can't say that it was out of line. Plus the fact that Brian gave us advice on how to avoid the problem in the future. Having our toilets out of commission was an unpleasant prospect, and we were very grateful for their extreme promptness as well as for their cheerful courtesy and quick, thorough work. Job well done, guys!

Jeff and his team were spectacular! The tiling was the best I had ever seen. The clean lines, placement and overall general appearance of the tiles were beyond anything I was expecting. The toilet is great. I came home to look at my new bathroom and just cried. It's beautiful. They were prompt, polite, explained everything every step of the way. If there was going to be an increase in dollar amount, due to the unexpected, Jeff walked me through it all. They, also, cleaned up and took the garbage with them! I can't say enough about this company other than to say that I'm going to use them in the future for the upstairs bathroom! I've already passed their names out to other people in my company that may need their services. Thanks to you and your team for the excellent job you did for us. They are truly honest, hard working people that do an excellent job. It's beautiful! Thanks again.
