My Mother-in-Law in Morton Grove, IL, needed a new service run from the panel to the garage, as the old underground conduit run had been compromised. The work was in-wall, in the crawlspaces, across the yard, to the garage - not pleasant. A fixed price quotation was quickly provided, which was very competitively priced. They were very accommodating to my personal schedule, which can be erratic. The owner and his assistant arrived on time, were appropriately dressed & equipped. They protected the surfaces within the house on which they had to work or walk. They worked quickly, diligently, professionally and politely. I can absolutely recommend them, and will use them again for sure.

All went well. The driving force for having the work done was to replace an older, unsafe FPE breaker box. With the new breaker box being installed, it allowed for additional circuits to be run to provide for the needs of in place sump pumps - before the new circuits were added and wiring done, there were 3 pumps on the same circuit - they should each have their own but couldn't because the old breaker box was full. Additionally, the wiring installed for a stove replaced in a kitchen remodel was inadequate for the new stove but not addressed by the contractor doing the remodel - rewiring was now done to correct the situation. I contacted Matt from Goldstream after doing research on Angie's List. The contact process was easy - started out with a contact through Angie's List, followed up with a few email exchanges and an appointment for an estimate. The communications was easy, setting up the time for the estimate that met my schedule was easy. Matt answered emails quickly, was right on time for the estimate and provided a lot of good information and advice while estimating the work. The estimate seemed reasonable - the biggest single element of the job, replacing the breaker box, was already pre-priced as a deal from Angie's List and the price for the other work was in line with prior estimates that I had gotten. The work was scheduled, Matt arrived on time, did the work in a timely manner, was easy to work with and all in all the experience was great. Matt explained options for me to select when needed, provided guidance put didn't "sell" extras, and in general was very professional. All work that was included in the estimate was done per the cost estimate, additional work added after the estimate was done with similar reasonable pricing. I highly recommend Goldstream, and would certainly use their services next time I have a need for electrical services.

Matt has showed up each day. Everything is being built to code as we have a permit. Matt's knowledge of the permit process has been extremely helpful. In one case, our architect neglected an aspect that was needed for code. Matt was already aware. Typically you will see an adjustment in price but Matt said not to worry. He would take care of it. The work was right in line with all the other bids; however, Matt had the most knowledge on what would be required by the village so I chose Goldstream. We are finishing this week and will be going through the inspection. He has been extremely flexible with his schedule. The clean up each day has exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend Goldstream Electric.

Matt, the proprietor, was very responsive from my first contact; we went back and forth via email a couple of times to work out a date and time. He arrived right on time (after calling me to let me know when he was 30 min. away). The work went well and quickly, except for a minor glitch related to the ancient wiring, which Matt dealt with very good humor. The work was done in less than an hour and the new fixture looks great. I will definitely call Goldstream Electrical for additional electrical work that I may need. Great job!

Yes I would use Goldstream again without question. Matt showed up on time and he was actually 15+ minutes early which is rare today in most trades. Explained everything in detail on what should be done and what he was going to do. He also corrected some other issues he noticed while working and didn't nickel dime us on them (no charge). When Matt completed he made the work area cleaner then when he started. Very professional, helpful and came up with some great suggestions that we will be doing in the near future. Matt arrived on time, and worked about 4 hours continuously and performed the work. I'm glad that I hired a best electrician who is hard working professional with thorough knowledge. I will hire him for all my future projects.

From the initial correspondence, Matt has been extremely responsive and professional. From the basic details I could provide, he had given me an approximate estimate. Once, he came to the house, he provided another estimate which came out to be cheaper than his approximation. I appreciate his honesty and professionalism in that regard. When he came for the installation, he arrived promptly and got to work. Matt and his colleague were very organized and respectful of our property. They did a great job in installing the canned lights and suggesting different illuminations. Overall, we were all very pleased with their work and I have already requested quotes on two other rooms for custom jobs. We will definitely be using him again!

Excellent work, as always! I have hired this company for several projects, this was the fourth in my home in the past year. Matt is very professional, punctual, and most importantly does quality work. I would not hire any other electrician at this point, will use Matt for any electrical services needed. I bought a deal for installation of a ceiling fan knowing the cost would be more than the deal if the provider took the job. I heard from Goldstream within a day. I explained what I needed/ wanted and received price per hour. He arrived promptly, calling to check where he should park. He set to work immediately laying out protective coverings. Matt worked quickly identifying various characteristics of the ceiling and where he could fish wire. With some input from me, he drilled a small hole for hanging the fan and another small hole lined up to connect with wiring in the light switch. He captured most of the dust as he drilled, saved the plugs for all 3 holes I would need to repair. (Which I understood in advance). I couldn't believe he fit the hangar for the fan into a hole which is now covered by the canopy. I was very impressed with how efficiently he worked. The job took about 3 hours. The fan with light was running when he began clearing his tools and coverings. He took time to shop vac one area and described how he thought the drywall plugs could be replaced. The bill was calculated on his iPhone, on which I also signed. Text or email for your receipt? He asked. I am VERY pleased with having the fan installed. Matt was courteous, efficient, and clean. All appreciated. If I have other electrical jobs, I'll call Goldstream first.

I bought the deal on Angie's List after we ran into trouble replacing our ceiling fan ourselves. Goldstream was able to schedule us sooner than expected due a cancellation, which was nice. All in all, it was a very easy. They arrived on time, finished the work quickly and cleanly. I will use them again.

He was prompt, courteous, knowledgable. We had just moved into this house had a few electrical issues which needed attention. He worked very efficiently.

He arrived at the time promised, replaced the existing panel in several hours at the estimated cost provided, and tested the breakers for each area to ensure it was working as designed at the completion of the installation. I would highly recommend Goldstream for this work.

Matt showed up on time. He was very polite and professional. He was well-prepared with tools and other supplies that might be needed. He put on covers on his shoes so he did not damage hardwood. He is an absolute expert and knew exactly how to handle everything and he answered all my questions. His communication by email before the appointment was perfect. Matt at GoldStream Electric did a fantastic job of evaluating an older relay system and offering me options to bring my basement lighting into the 20th century. In addition to rewiring 6 series lights, Mat provisioned a new motion sensor switch and delivered as promised. Overall great job and just what I expected.

Matt was great to work with. We were past his normal service area but he worked with me and came out and glad he did. Communication was great in sitting up the service call and he should up right on time. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything that he was doing. He inspected one of the junction boxes before installing the new fixture even going into the attic to check for leaks etc. He cleaned the wires before installing the fixtures. I could have tried to put them up myself but with it being an older house I am glad I called and as he made sure everything was safe. After he was done he gave me a price on installing some track lighting and explained in detail what would be the best way to install it and what would look best. Matt was very thorough, professional and offered several pieces of advice regarding questions I had on ceiling fans from what kind of light bulbs to use in the new fixtures(which I learned a few new things which will help greatly). I highly recommend Goldstream and would use them again without any hesitation. If you are looking for quality work done up to code and done right look no further.

They were very responsive even when i put off the service for a while. Stayed in touch via e-mail. Estimate done immediately and flexible with scheduling. The job done was excellent-brought everything up to code. Efficient and courteous. Everything done according to my requests and with little effort on my part. Cleaned up and job done wihtin time that was stated. I would definitley recomment this company!

Matt arrived right on schedule. He quickly assessed the work area and determined the requirements necessary to complete the job. He walked me through the scope of the project and then got right to work. He was very careful with measurements and took precautions to look for studs, pipes, vents, etc. before making final cuts. He methodically cut and installed each fixture, everything was completed within a couple of hours. He did a very thorough cleanup of the area, which was great. We are very happy with the final results. It looks great, and really improves the balance of lighting in the kitchen. Matt was courteous and professional, and very easy to work with. Matt was amazing! Scheduling him to come over and complete my electrical work was quick and easy from start to finish. I have an older home (1930's) so a lot of upgrades need to be completed. Matt was not put off by this and completed everything in just over 2 hours. In fact, I am having him come back to install more dimmer switches and ceiling fan switches at the end of the month. Matt communicated to us and verified he would be at our home and he arrived right on time! Matt did an excellent job installing the power and HDMI cable we needed to get rid of unsightly cables. It looks awesome now. Matt was very attentive to keeping things clean to the point of once he was done, we didn't even know he was there.
