This is the third project that I've used Drew on, and this was a rehab from h***. During the course of knocking out walls to make the kitchen/LR/DR an open great room, and getting other walls ready for cabinets, we discovered shortcuts that the builder had taken that were shoddy, dangerous, and not up to code. (And a giant wasps nest). Because of Drew's attention to detail, and eye for a better way to do things, he worked with the general contractor to make sure things were done the right way. In a project like this, it's impossible to predict where things will go until you actually open up the walls and start the work. Drew needed to get parts, and come out three times, but this was to be expected, given the scope of work on this (sometimes overwhelming) job. I found Drew's work to be spot on, his wiring, conduit bending, box building, and general work to be exceptionally good. It is solid and professional, and looks great. His pricing was very fair for the amount of time he spent obtaining parts and chasing down problems. I want to respond to the other reviewer on Angie's list that gave Drew a "D". I found this review to be very unfair. In the course of renovating several homes and condos, I've worked with many contractors, both good and bad. One thing I've noticed, is that a lot of them have "personalities and opinions" if you get them talking. Sometimes you agree with them, sometimes you don't. This matters nothing to me. What matters to me is honesty, professionalism, quality of work, and the bottom line. Drew hit all of these targets with me. The other reviewer thought it was "rude" for Drew to suggest that the owner might have hit a breaker by mistake and that's why the AC didn't work. I think this is an irrelevant comment. If the breaker got hit, turning the AC off, then guess what? It's not rude, thats what it is. Also, if you discover that you have an issue with the general wiring in your home, or that a different size box is needed, that's also part of how things go. Expecting things to perfectly smoothly, on the first visit, without any issues, or needing to obtain additional parts is simply unrealistic. Sure, sometimes it goes that way, but more often than not, it doesn't. As I pointed out before, you sometimes can't know these things until you get into the job itself. What matters to me is the END result. Does the work get done correctly? Is the contractor accountable and does he make sure that when it's finished, it's done right? This is the third project that Drew has done for me, and I have been very happy with the results every single time. I will continue to hire him, and I highly recommend Drew for electrical work.

Drew came over and did the estimate. we compared to 3 other providers. Drew's seemed best. He came 2 weeks later to perform the new 100 amp install and this is where the problems started. Drew was very rude and unprofessional. After about 2 hours of work Drew said that the box he quoted us for would not fit as it is too large and he would have to order a smaller box. Even though he was here and saw everything and we spent 30 minutes discussing the new box. After 3 weeks of waiting, he finally returned with the new box and spent half a day installing. He finished the day by saying he installed the box and the new 20amp outlet but would have to return with the box cover as it does not fit. The best part is that he left the AC breaker off and we had no AC. when we called and asked why we have on AC he said our ac does not work. His install of the 200 amp was very uncomfortable. The whole time he spent complaining how the house is not wired like he would wire it and thus he has to spend more time adding the new line. This was very unpleasant and uncomfortable. 1 week later he returned with the cover, which was slimmed down. We walked over to the new box where i watched screw in the cover. Where i asked him again why the ac did not work and he said that we must have flipped the breaker off. This was really rude. Let me tell you that this is a new box with 9 new breakers, none of which were labeled as the job was unfinished and he told us to wait for the cover. yet, we were suppose to figure out ourselves why the AC and the new electrical breaker was off. And finally.... at the end he said that the new box, even though it is smaller, cost him $50 more than a 200 amp size box. He ended up selling us a 100amp box. Then said that it does not come with any breakers and we would have to pay for them individually. add the cost of each individual breaker to his estimate, and he ended up being one of the more expensive quotes. Except not only was he expensive, but he was extremely rude and unpleasant. I would never recommend this contractor to anyone.

They had come out and done an estimate beforehand and had given me the detailed information of what was involved, we scheduled an appointment for the technicians to come out on a specific day. The technicians arrived quite on time, very punctual, they were courteous, and polite 2 young gentlemen. They knew exactly what they were doing, they explained beforehand why they were there and what they're going to be doing. They were efficient, they were very tidy, they did a great job with the installation, they cleaned up after themselves, they were very professional and courteous.

This was my 2nd hire of Economical Electric Services, and I was very satisfied. It was a nightmare job of replacing old rotting wire, and upgrading really old fixtures. While not exactly cheap, I found them to be extremely reasonable considering the amount of work and materials involved. However, I don't know of any qualified electrician that can be considered "cheap". You gets what you pays for. The price included all the new ceiling cans, fixtures, trim, etc. The quality of the finished work was exceptional, and Drew is helpful and quite knowledgeable. I have a 3rd and final (I hope) project that I will hire EES for, installing the final wiring and fixtures in my brand new kitchen. I will update with a 3rd review when that is completed.
Description of Work: Continuation of renovating an older (1911) condo in Chicago, Edgewater neighborhood. Had more new wire pulled, installed several new conduits through building, upgraded electrical outlets & dimmers, wired a basement workshop and installed overhead lighting and outlets. Prepared for future kitchen gut and renovation with conduit from basement to 2nd floor kitchen. Wired bathroom with new outlets, dimmers, lights.
