For the most part everything went fine but there was one problem. When the gutters were replaced my existing leaf guard system was to be removed and replaced by a different leaf guard system, I was told that a row of shingles had to be installed to cover the NEW leaf guard. The owner said I had to pay extra to have the extra row of shingles installed, That was okay but eventually it took approximately 12 weeks to get done. I must say the owner communicated with me about having troubles with the roofer to come back and finish what had to be done, This went on for weeks. Finally Gary (The Owner} said that he would get someone else to finish the job. I was fine with this but when he called me to say that he had another company tell him that I didn't need the roof finished and Gary seemed to agree. I don't understand why I paid for services to be done then after having problem with the original roofer to finish the job, all the time telling me that he was trying to get the job completed, he would get a second opinion that told Gary basically no work had to be done. Gary then calls me to say, that a different roofer told him nothing had to be done. At no time in the heated discussion did Gary mention returning monies for work originally paid for but work not finished. I basically hung up on him, I felt that Gary was now pressuring me to accept the second opinion and leave it at that. Fortunately Gary did send another roofer over and that individual did finish the job. This roofer basically told me that only the lower level front was shorted, that the other three levels were ok. I was ok to that but wonder what the original roofer and Gary saw. The owner on a couple occasions told me that I paid him monies for a job to be done , then paid the roofer to have that work done only to have a second opinion come in and say that the monies I paid to have work done was not necessary, (If that was the case, II should get a refund for work the was not necessary to be done, but the owner never offered that to me (This is what got me upset) I do like the company because in the past They put installed windows, roof and gutter and downspouts. Unfortunately, this was such a small job (gutter and downspouts) but what I went thru to get the final resolution was NOT worth it

The owner, Gary, listened to what we wanted and gave us a good price. The installers did excellent work and cleaned the work areas thoroughly. Bob and his son Jake were very professional. Would use again.

Very professional from the beginning (consult/sales) through installation. Gary, the owner, does not use pressure sales tactics. Installation was fast with no problems encountered. They (Bob and Jake) ensure a clean install and customer service from them was great as well (ability to answer any questions we had during install without feeling as though we were bothering them). Very professional organization I would recommend to anyone. We already feel the difference in our home--glad we went with the Sunrise windows!

Bob and Jake did the installation and they were professional, prepared and did great work! They actually had to rework some of our wood siding because we changed a window from a bay to straight window and they did a great job salvaging existing pieces to make it work. We've had the windows and door a few weeks now and they look great. They don't sweat on the inside, less outside noise and they open and close easily and securely - we couldn't be happier. I'm also very impressed with how much the interior finish matches my existing oak trim. We would definitely recommend them to anyone on the market for windows. We plan to do the rest of the house next year with them.

I'm very pleased with the windows that Gary installed in our home. Gary came highly recommended from a coworker, and I reviewed his business on Angie's List before I made the phone call for a quote. Gary was the third company that came to our house to give me a quote.From the start, Gary was very professional and he arrived on time for the appointment. I felt comfortable with the education he gave me about window replacement. He wasn't the cheapest bid we received, but his offering seemed to be the best quality for the money we wanted to spend. Once I decided on the windows, he gave me a time line of the work that would take place. HIs crew arrived on time, and they were very professional. Each day, his crew made sure to walk me through the work they planned to accomplish and they cleaned up before leaving. I highly recommend Gary and Custom Built Windows. I will be using them again in the near future.

Job was done well. Workers were polite and clean and punctual. Windows all seem to work well.

Gary came out to quote the job, and gave us some options. The windows we chose are both sliders and detach in order to open into the room - so you are able to get full air flow if needed. Subsequently the job manager came out to do detailed measurements, and determine whether we'd need more structural support (we didn't). The installer then came to install the windows after they came in - which was a few weeks ahead of schedule. He was able to remove the old windows and install the new ones, including color-matched aluminum flashing/sill covering, in a single day. The windows look fantastic - very classy, and a minimum of vertical mullions. These windows face our lake, so visibility is improved, and the windows will make this room more usable for most of the year, and much easier to cool down in the summer. We would definitely use this company again, they did a great job for a fair price.

They were great. They show up when they say they will, they made accommodations for me & they did the quote and part of the installation on a Saturday because I work downtown. The installers were very professional & they did a great job. One window pane came in broken, but they came out & replaced it right away. Overall, they were excellent & gave me a quality product which they installed with precision. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Overall it was a great experience. Gary was prompt with the quote, the installers were professional and took care to cover the carpet before installing. The windows themselves are terrific and the encasements on the outside are professionally done and have now permanently covered the wood. I heartily recommend!

The service and quality of the project went right to plan. Gary provided me ample options across the range of windows that would fit my needs. I was looking for better UV protection since the sunlight is very strong on this end of my home. Pat led the installation work and explained how it would work. He and his apprentice were neat and orderly while working inside my home. I got exactly what i wanted at a good price.

Gary was the third estimate I received and was by far the most knowledgable. Recommended that we replace the glass on one window instead of replacing the whole thing, saved a thousand dollars. Pat came and did the installation and did a great job. Our old windows were basically plastic and our basement has warmed up significantly. Will definitely work with Gary and Pat when we need the rest of our windows replaced and also our sliding door.

Gary of Custom Built Windows is friendly and professional. He took time explaining all the features and benefits of the Sunrise windows. He answered all of our questions. He helped us with color matching. He explained to us how the windows would be installed and re-assured us that it wouldn't be a problem to have the windows installed in the cold weather (November, 2012). He told us that the installers were employees with many years of experience installing the Sunrise windows. He provided us with an extensive list of references. We knew somebody on the list and contacted them for their feedback. They are very knowledgeable when it comes to home improvements and they used Custom Built Windows. We had 8 Sunrise windows installed. Six were casement windows and 2 picture windows were installed in the garage. All the windows had grids embedded between the glass. The price was very competitive. The installation went smoothly. We are happy with the work. The installers cleaned up and hauled the old windows away. We have now had the windows for 8 months and couldn't be happier with our choice.

Gary provided an estimate to replace our four metal (painted shut) basement windows with new vinyl slider windows. His quote was fair - in line with other estimates we received. We upgraded from standard white to tan for $200 - we really like how they look. Gary estimated that it would take 4 to 6 weeks from order to install. Some window companies estimated a longer time since it would be a small job for them. Our windows were installed 4 weeks and 1 day after we ordered them. We are very pleased with the service provided (both by Gary and his installer Bob) and the windows.

Phenomenal all the way through the entire process! Gary has vast knowledge of doors and windows. Gary recommended to me that Sunrise patio doors was the product to use. Gary could not be more right! Bob and his son Jake showed up promptly at 10:00 a.m. - just as Gary said they would. After 5 hours of non-stop work I had a gorgeous new patio door. Bob and Jacob are very hard, precise, and meticulous workers. We could not be anymore happier with Custom Built Windows. Gary, Bob and Jake - THANK YOU!

I really am happy with the windows. Gary the owner gave a great presentation and just did a really good job. The installers were nice to work with as well.

The job went exactly as promised. The workers arrived on time did an excellent job, cleaned up perfectly. I couldn't ask for more. I have just ordered another patio door, and a new entry door system.

I found "Custom Built Windows" on Angie's list and contacted Gary over the phone to set up an appointment for an estimate to replace all of the windows on the upper floor of my house. He showed up on time for the appointment and seemed really laid back and friendly. He took a look at all of the old windows we currently had. He then gave my wife and I a thorough demonstration of the energy efficient vinyl window he recommended. He gave us an estimate for the 11 windows. His estimate was actually a little lower than the estimate we had previously received a week earlier for similar windows from another guy who's reputation we weren't sure of. We decided to go with Gary based on his reputation. After a few weeks we received the call that they were ready to install and they showed up the scheduled day to do the installation. There were no surprises, no complications, no additional costs and the installers were very polite and friendly. The windows look beautiful and are exactly what I was hoping for. My wife and I could already feel the difference in temperature in the front bedrooms on a couple of cold days. I'm very pleased with the whole experience and would definitely do business with Custom Built again.

I requested that Gary come out and he came within a few days for a quote. He called back with in a week or so to let me know the manufacturer was doing a rebate. We signed with Gary at the end of July and he estimated that it would take 6-8 weeks before installation would start. The installation started prior to that! Bob and his son did a great job installing and were very friendly and courteous to my little kids. They cleaned up at the end of each day. I would recommend them again!

Mr. Gary was the owner. He came out and gave us an estimate. He was very honest about what we needed and what we did not need. He talked us out of something that was more expensive to get something that was better suited to our home and our needs. He had a very honest way about him and he was very helpful. He gave us an estimate on the spot which was very helpful as we did not have to wait for an estimate to come along. He also rushed the job for us because it would have taken a little bit longer than what we were able to wait for. He was able to move things along and was able to accommodate our schedule which was very helpful. We would recommend them as they knew their product. The installer was very polite, very courteous and exceptionally on time. They were a very nice company to work with. We did not do that much extra pricing around and so, we cannot really compare. We thought that we were getting a fair deal. We would absolutely use them again in the future.

They were very professional and easy to work with. They cleaned up everything when they were done. They were very punctual and the experience of dealing with them was very good. I would use them again in the future.

He was very friendly and courteous. He came out on my schedule relatively quickly. The only reason I decided not to go with him was because I did not feel he did enough product training, I discovered that I liked a different product better. He was relatively thorough but wasn?t thorough enough in helping me figure out what I needed. The estimated price was $8000. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

We had all but 2 windows replaced in our house with Sunrise windows (~32 windows). Gary came out 2x and showed us an example of the window, walked through the process and answered all of our questions. It took roughly 6 weeks for the windows to be in and our appt to be scheduled which is what Gary estimated. We had one other quote from another company on Angie's List and he was very nice and actually gave a more competitive price, but we were not crazy about the windows (more plastic, less glass). Bob and his crew of 1-3 guys came and worked for 5 days. They were very courteous, cleaned up after each day and did a great job with the installation. We are very happy with the results!
