 + 0 moreGreat, very accommodating to your schedule. They have a mobile service. Owner quoted a price over the phone after sending pictures of the doors and provided locks. After arrival and examining our old and new locks, he gave some advise and options. One of these options costs 50 dollars more. We agreed. Gave us estimated time to finish but ran into complications due to our complex door therefore took longer to finish. But didn't up charge any more than agreed upon price which was honest.
Description of Work: The owner came to change two door's locks.

 + -1 moreSpoke with David over the phone - one of three locksmiths I called, the only one who answered when I called. He said that while they usually charge a service call fee, they waive it for Angie's List members - great!. David arrived at about 3pm and examined all the entry doors (one between house and garage, two in family room, one in dining leading to a deck) and found they were all low quality or no longer operational (two of them he demonstrated just how easily they could be opened from the outside). He had to go back to his shop to get a few items and did not charge us for the trip. He started around 5pm replacing the lock between the garage and the house - whose spring had broken making it so you could not open the door from either the house or the garage. The door has a steel core so took him a long time to remove the old one. He replaced the other door knobs with much nicer lever handles, gave us extra keys (and made sure we had them all tested before he left). Following this David also gave us a security consultation, advising us on how to keep our home and family safe (installing exterior lights on timers as one example). David was adamant his company bends over backwards for Angies members and demonstrated this repeatedly. Highly recommend - if you need lock work? Call Bluebird Locksmith - A+++

David came over the same day we called and explained how his home is set up and what he would change if our home was his. He worked with our budget to make our home as secure as possible and worked with an expedited timeline in order to finish the job before we moved in. We are moving tomorrow and feel safe and secure thank to David and his work. We need to buy a new door for one entry point and David will be returning to switch out the lock as soon as we purchase it. Whether you know what you need or not, call David and he will work with you to find the best solution! We will definitely call Bluebird again for any of our lock needs and we've already passed his information to our realtor to refer his other clients since everyone needs this service after closing. He asked a lot of questions to get to the root of the problem. David also had me send him photos of the door along with measurements. He gave me several options over the phone. His price quotes were very reasonable. When David arrived, he was fully prepared. He replaced the door latch and even fixed an improperly installed door lock at no additional charge. I would definitely use this service again.

 + -1 moreI was in need of a locksmith to come out to my building the same day and switch the locks for a new tenant that had moved in. I called a few other locksmiths and their same day rates were 25% to 50% more than the quote that Bluebird gave me and they couldn't guarantee a time that they would be out for same day service. Bluebird arrived exactly when they said they would, and called beforehand just as I requested so that I wasn't waiting around for them. They also ensured that I was able to provide verification that I own the building, which isn't always done by other locksmiths. They changed the locks quickly and also made some adjustments to get the handles to work correctly (without charging extra). They also took American Express which is a MUST for my commercial service providers. I would definitely use them again.

He was very thorough and payed attention to every detail, including making up for flaws in our door not being plumb int he frame. In speaking with him, it was evident that top quality work and commitment to home safety is his life's work. He even gave us home safety tips beyond what he does personally. Description of Work: David came out today prepared with the necessary equipment needed to either repair or replace the lock on my storm door. After he examined the lock he explained the issue with the lock but also looked at the back door and advised me that the safety issue was not with the storm door which could be fixed/replaced but the safety issue was with the wood door. David took time to show me the issues which would be great if the condition of the wood door was not addressed. He made recommendations on where to replace the door and what would be involved with the replacement of the door. I was able to learn a lot and realize that what I thought was the problem found the wood door would not provide the safety I needed. While I wanted the storm door 'fixed' that was again not the problem. At this point I will pay a visit to Home Depot or other reputable store and begin to look for an appropriate door that will give me the safety I need. David provided an assessment, advice, and support for my looking at what needed to be changed to secure my safety. While I didn't get the storm door lock ; I will contact David Bluebird Locksmith because they made me feel like my security was number one and developing a positive relationship with the client was more important than securing the job. I took David down to look at my neighbor's back door situation. I hasten to add that David did not charge one red cent for his service to myself or my condo neighbor downstairs. I am pleased with his sincerity , punctuality, and advise he'd give his own mother, sister or friend. He will get my business as soon as I get the door replaced. He will also get referrals from me to other friends who may need his services.

He assessed the situation and offered the most effective solution. He was meticulous in his work which took longer than he estimated but he did not charge more than he estimated. He was extremely pleasant and courteous despite the late night appointment.

I didn't have a key and deliberately didn't lock it since it was already behind an secured area. So, in order to access my car, I had to call a locksmith and I called Bluebird. It was a fortunate choice. They responded immediately and had the door open in minutes. I decided to have them install a new knob WITH keys ;-) They did a beautiful job! Fair price. And I was so happy, I programmed them into my phone to call them directly with any other future emergencies. In addition, they are returning Weds am to replace my front door lock with a stronger, safer mechanism. So, bottom line: professional? Yes! Responsive? Yes! Fairly priced? Yes! Great work? Yes! Nice, good guys? Yes!!

 + 0 moreCalled Bluebird and he answered right away, it was a Sunday evening, I explained that a truly unskilled locksmith had come out and took over an hour and a half to get into our house....I had lost complete confidence and did not what that guy to put a new deadbolt on my door. So I called Bluebird and he told me what time he could be here to fix everything. He showed up quickly and had a new deadbolt keyed to my existing keys in the door in 10 minutes. Bluebird is reliable, highly skilled, and very smart about home security . This company is absolutely my new go to for all my locksmith needs!!! I can go to sleep tonight knowing that my home is secure.

I thought it was a very reasonable price. He also pointed out a few things with my doors that he recommends be corrected by a carpenter in the future. He quickly evaluated the problem,discussed his recommendations and my options. I chose to replace both the deadbolt and the doorknob. His work was quick,neat and extremely reasonable. He was also friendly,considerate and very polite. I will certainly call him again with any future problems with locks.
Description of Work: Replaced a deadbolt lock which was not opening all the way making it impossible to open the door. He also replaced the front doorknob to match (old doorknob was in poor shape) and keyed both to the deadbolt on my back door.

Mondays are their busiest days dealing with weekend issues etc and since his technicians were all currently on jobs, he said he would take care of my "job" if he couldn't find someone to fit MY timeframe. He estimated he would arrive within the hour and was at my door within a half hour. After unlocking the door, he made recommendations on how to simply and cost-effectively rectify the situation and prevent future "lock-outs". I will happily be using his service again in a few days. Dave was prompt, courteous, professional, knowledgeable and experienced. He definitely put exceptional customer service FIRST!!!
