They charged us double the price of other quotes received. They subcontract work out to other firms. They add on costs that are not necessary. When my wife called, price was much lower. I am not happy with my experience with this company.
Description of Work: We had them out for air duct cleaning.

These guys are a bad experience. We had a 1:00-3:00 window. I called at 3:00 and was told they were running late and that I had been called to advise. No message on my machine. I said fine come anyway. They showed up around 3:50 but said no place to park. I suggested double parking with hazards and unloading the stuff. Then go back and park. They kept saying over and over again no place to park. Finally I went downstairs and saw 4 parking spaces. 2 near the front of the building and 2 around the corner. Large enough spaces for the van after they unloaded to park. I called the office and the guy said it would be better to come out on a Saturday. I explained the situation. I admit I was rude to him. He got angry with me and blamed me for my attitude. Don't work with these guys. Waste of your time.
Description of Work: I hired them to clean out our ducts.

These guys kept on trying to push more services. The sales guy told me that their service includes a free HVAC checkup & opened my heating system. He then proceeded to show me some dust on the motor & wanted $250 to clean it up. When I told him that I am not interested, he kept of dropping the price & really harassed me. I was afraid that he would mess something in my HVAC & had to really push him to close the HVAC. They walked all over the house in their dirty shoes & did not put back some duct covers. Overall, a terrible experience. Honestly, I would not call them even if they did it for free.
Description of Work: I called them for the $99 promotion they had in a mailer to get the ducts & return vents cleaned.

Terrible. The technician kept on asking for more work and trying to run up the bill. I was firm and did not give in anymore. When you smell a rat, don't do business with them.
Description of Work: I called this company because of the $99 special they were advertising for duct cleaning in the ValuePack coupon advertisment. I am not using this company again. Since I had two furnances with two air ducts, they initially quoted me a price of $198. But then they added another$100 for the return vents. During the course of the work, the technician wanted to add another 1100 to the bill to service my furnaces. These guys are a bunch of pushy salesman who think they can roll every customer for a buck. I would not trust them with a blade of grass.

"Tom" arrived 45 minutes later than promised, no explanation or apology. As the crew of two unpacked the van, I explained to Tom that our new addition was not in need of cleaning, since the ducts are all new. I pointed out the new area and told him that I did not want these ducts cleaned. He insisted on connecting the large vacuum to a duct in this new area, which would pull dust from the old ducts into the new. He said there might be construction dust in the ducts, but I knew this was not the case, since the ducts were installed nearer the end of construction to avoid this very problem. Not a good start. I took Tom downstairs and opened up a duct in the basement, to show him visible dust that needed removal. He said he didn't need to see it, since his crew would be sure to get that dust. I used a flashlight to show him the dust anyway. The crew came to this location with equipment and prepared to work. They worked on this spot while I was away, but I inspected their work afterwards. All this dust was still in place. I pointed this out to Tom, who blithely said that this spot hadn't been done yet. I pointed out to him some remnants of the brush in a nearby area, proving to him that the crew had simply skipped this duct and moved on. Tom asked for my flashlight, and showed his crew the remaining dust. Instead of keeping on top of the crew and ensuring a quality job, Tom instead turned his efforts to selling me additional cleaning. He wanted to "disinfect" the ducts for a whopping $360 additional. He used the classic pressure sales tactic of "Making the mark say 'no' three times". He made it clear that the duct cleaning didn't do anything without the disinfectant. Why would they offer a duct cleaning without it? Since none of this was mentioned over the phone when I scheduled the cleaning, I began to get the impression that the entire job was a setup to pressure me to spend big money. Anyway, when this didn't work, he pursued this same approach on my wife, out of my presence. She had not been involved in any of this project, so she did not appreciate being asked questions without my input. All told, the work probably did little to clean the ducts, even according to Tom. Perhaps out of frustration over not making the added sale, Tom kept my flashlight. No big deal, I lost a flashlight, got an education about APA, American Pure Air, Inc.
