Stockwell Electric

I was very satisfied with Scott's work. I purchased a deal from Angie's List December 2011, and the expiration date was quickly approaching. On December 12, 2012, I contacted Stockwell Electric and informed Scott of replacement outlets needed and scheduled an appointment for December 18. He arrived early, completed the task and cleaned up any debris. Scott was also going to replace my back doorbell, but I purchased the wrong type of bell. However, he was kind enough to remove the old doorbell so that it could be easily replaced once I exchanged the incorrect one.

Scott was quite knowledgeable about everything electrical. He shared good advice on using compact fluorescent bulbs and when they were useless. He was even helpful in fixing a cabinet drawer. I would definitely use him again.

They scheduled with me for a date and time to do the work. I had my tenants empty their closets to facilitate the work. The day of the appt, they called and said they couldnt show up because another job went over. I told them we had emptied closets and they needed to show up, even if it was at the end of the day. They agreed to show up at 5pm. They actually showed up at 825pm to start the work. This was a drag!! But, I have to give them credit for doing what they could to accomodate my tenants. They did the work, expressed regret over lateness and cleaned up. Overall I liked them.

Scott was great. He did a good job of estimating the total time it would take to do certain projects and provided a good options for different ways he could accomplish certain projects, letting us pick which method worked best for us.

We wanted to put Christmas lights up last year and couldn't because we didn't have an electrical outlet outside our house. So I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for Stockwell Electric which was $85 for 2 hours of electrical labor. Even though it took me almost a year to call and schedule the work, Scott Stockwell answered my call promptly and scheduled a visit to my house to complete the work within a few days. He was very professional and straight to the point on the phone. He told me he believed he could install the outlet within the 2 hours I had purchased already and would only charge me for parts he needed. He showed up at the date/time he said he would and installed the outlet without a problem. Even though he went slightly over the 2 hours, he did not charge me for the extra time. We are very satisfied with his work!

Scott was wonderful! I purchased his services through a "Big Deal." He responded quickly to my request and managed to work in my project before the Thanksgiving holiday. Scott was very prompt and professional! I've since referred him to my neighbors.

We liked his work so much on his first visit that we called him back again. He is prompt, courteous, and keeps the work area clean. He is also efficient and quick at identifying solutions to the electrical problems on our to do list. We would hire him again.

Our house is over 50 years old and Scott knows quite a lot about the issues with the electrical wiring of older homes. He offers practical solutions, is an efficient worker, courteous, and prompt. He keeps the work area clean. This is the third time we hired him and we will do so again. Highly recommended!

Stockwell Electric came out and reviewed the work and gave us an estimate. We kinda knew the 6 items needing attention would require more than 2 hours, and were willing to pay the additional costs. Stockwell's estimate was fair so we hired him to show a week later to perform the work. My daughter was there while the work was being performed. She stayed out of his way was happy when he asked her several times during the various task to verify he was doing the work to her liking. She said he was very patient." He asked both before he started a task and just before he finished if the tasks were done to her satisfaction, and they were. She said "he checked things that we didnt even ask for and even swapped out a lightswitch at no charge. She felt all his feedback was above average and he was very personable. Stockwell worked 3+ hours to complete the tasks, and my daughter is very happy knowing it was done professionally.

Since he spent so much time on the garage, he was only able to replace about 6 outlets....

He was on-time and very exact about what I wanted and the job he performed. I appreciated his professionalism. He did not try to waste time chatting. He did exactly what he was hired to do.

The experience overall was positive and painless for us as consumers. Scott responded to our call quickly and arrived on the day of our appointment on time. He explained exactly what needed to be done, the materials he would need and how long the job would likely take. He also explained that he would need to purchase some additional materials to complete the job but would not charge us for that time. Scott returned from Home Depot with the necessary parts in record time. He reviewed the work plan with us and started immediately on the job on hand. Scott completed the work in the time expected and was great in cleaning up and leaving all rooms in good shape post the installations. He advised we would need to do some painting re-touching in one room after installing a new electrical outlet that required some rewiring but that was not an issue. We were pleased with our experience and felt we received a good value for the work performed.

Things went very well. He arrived early and did everything needed in a very expeditious and professional manner.

The job went very well, though did take a little longer due to a little trouble running wire for the chandelier, which was being installed in a part of the ceiling where there was not an existing electrical box, so it was all perfectly fine. Mr Stockwell gave it his best effort to avoid opening a hole in the ceiling, but in the end had to resort that. HIs effort and concern was greatly appreciated. Afterwards, he even ran a little spackle to patch it up, which I finished up. A dimmer switch was put in place as well, giving us more control over the chandelier lighting. And he graciously installed another dimmer in another part of our house without any additional charges. Our chandelier looks amazing, and there's not a trace of work done, which in my opinion, is the mark of a great craftsman. We owe Mr Stockwell a great deal of thanks for his work.

Everything went very well. The electrician was polite and went right to work and did a super job.

Scott was great because not only does he perform the work efficiently and properly, he also shows you how to do it yourself. He was punctual, quick to respond and professional to work with.

Electrician called b/c he ran into traffic. Worked quickly and efficiently. Communicated well. Will return when a part (which he ordered) comes in so he can install it.

I had outside lights installed which would be triggered by someone walking past. I bought one of the Angie's list service coupons, which gave me an hour or two (can't remember) for whatever electrical service I might need--it was a good price for the time. The electrician was prompt and pleasant, but he was unsure at first how to address the concerns. In the end, he had to go get some equipment (longer drill bits, etc); and the whole process took alot longer than initially anticipated. He did not charge me for the extra time it took to go to Home Depot, but did charge me for the other time. He was being cautious and careful, which was probably a good thing--but also did not seem particuilarly adept or prepared. And in the end--though the lights were installed correctly, they weren't turned on correctly, so I had to get a step-ladder and mess around with them for a while before they functioned as they should. I would say that I ultimately got what I wanted at a not-unreasonable price from a pleasant and fairly competent person. But he was not someone who I'd go particularly out of my way to recommend to others.

We purchased a Big Deal 2 hours coupon. Stockwell was very prompt with returning our call, worked with our schedule to figure out a good time to come, and showed up right on time. He completed the work within the 2 hours with time to spare and was able to also fix an outlet that did not have power. He was thorough in explaining what the problem was after examining the conduit and told us how he was going to fix it before actually fixing it - which was nice. This was our first time using this company and we were very satisfied.

We had an appointment set for one day but he was unable to make it, but did call and explain and we were able to reschedule for later that week. I was trying to rewire a three-way switch in a house built in 1955 and nothing had been done since that date. When i pulled the box there were 5 wires and all were reading hot and when i pulled the corresponding box it had three wires all erading hot. Since i knew the main swtich also fed a socket and supposedly the exterior light, i needed help. This man, Scott, is so patient. This was not simple and he had to do much more than he had planned and spent, I'm sure 2 if not 3 times longer to get it right. He ended up pulling another socket to trace the wires, found those wires were not secured correctly so he fixed that, fixed the other two and cleaned up and ended up have a plate cover to fit as a nice bonus. He took the time to explain what he was doing and even gave me a drawing to understand the flow and suggested some books. There is no doubt i i will hire him again; you just don't find many people that do a job the 'right' way anymore

As it turned out, the problem was the underground cable. Nonetheless, the work in the house and garage was also needed. We were referred to someone who specializes in replacing cables. Now, all is well in the garage.

He got it done quickly and was very nice and helpful.
