Stockwell Electric

Stockwell is a one-man operation and had such success in offering a Big Deal that he was booked a month out, which was not what I had expected. When I acquiesced to waiting and called to make an appointment (which was about our third time in contact), Mr. Stockwell would only book a morning appointment because otherwise working in my part of town (Hyde Park) would throw off his whole day. Mornings don't work for me - I'm a grad student with either class or work every day until at least noon - and at that point Mr. Stockwell said "Well, there are many other capable electricians." I wish the deal hadn't been so unexpectedly limited by 1) the scale of the business, which shouldn't have offered more Big Deals than it could handle, and 2) Mr. Stockwell's willingness to come to south of Roosevelt.

The only problem is that this electrician is in such demand that it took almost a month to get an appointment however the wait was worth it.

They had a lot of work, backed up for a month. Plus they do not service the area i am in.

It went really well. Scott was very professional. It worked very hard. The only comment I have is needed a little wire for the doorbell, I was a little surprised he did not have any extra wire on him. However, overall I was very happy.

He showed up on time. Allowed me to show him the problem as well as some other issues. He got down to work and was finished fairly quickly. Neat work. Personable fellow.

Provider cannot provide services in high rise buildings due to their insurance. Rick

There were no issues. He was prompt in getting back to me. He stated he could not do the type of work I needed since it involved the second story of my home. I appreciated he let me know quickly he could not do the work.

He emailed 3 days later and asked to go to another company.

He did an excellent job and of high quality. I really appreciated that he was showing me out to do high quality work and how I can do some of the work myself and good practices vs bad practices. Learned a lot in the 2 hours. Worth my money and would use Stockwell again!

I checked Angie's List again and talked to a third electrician who is able to come to my home in 3 days. I emailed Scott re a refund. He emailed back stating I must get the refund from Angie's List.

They did what they were supposed to do. The price of the service was average. It took them a long time, almost the whole two hours, to complete the work. I believe the electrician was on-time for the appointment.

He said at the end of the visit I owed him $100 however I paid through the Angie's List. He said that it's only one coupon per household. He should have let me know before he performed the service. He was not friendly about it either. I felt like he took advantage of the small print. He should have been upfront with it. He also provided extra equipment. He never let me know that this was going to cost me extra either. It was misleading to me. I would probably not call him back out even though his work was excellent.

He did fix a few of my electrical problems , like fixing the outlets and switch for the light in the bathroom and so on. Only thing he charged extra was new switch for the light. He did wonderful job.

Working with Stockwell was great. Scott got me in about a week after I purchased his services, was there on time, professional, etc. He patched my walls, cleaned up after himself and was conscious about making noise while my 6 week old slept. Great with dogs and I felt comfortable to leave him with my wife and children. Overall A+ and highly recommend.

The work was done promptly, efficiently, and within the 2-hour time frame specified in the Angie's List deal costing $95.00. I was very pleased with the job that he did.

The provider was knowledgeable and professional (including prompt responses to calls and emails).

Scheduling was fine. The cost was reasonable and he was on-time.

I bought a "big deal" for two hours worth of electrical work and emailed the electric company. He contacted me and said he'd be booked for the next few days and I mentioned that what I needed done wouldn't take long at all, so he agreed to come within a couple of days. Upon arriving at my house a bit late, he seemed annoyed at how long it had taken him to find our house and proceeded to change the photo sensor on our post. This took him maybe 10 minutes, at which point he was ready to leave. I mentioned I also needed a light installed and he hesitated but went ahead and did it (I did pay for two hours of work, after all). By the time he left he seemed apologetic about his earlier attitude, but having a hard time finding a place does not constitute an excuse to show annoyance at your clients. The job was OK, but I don't think we'll use him again.

They sent me a reply that they didn’t work on high rises and I need a refund.

We purchased the BIG DEAL in late June 2014, but because of conflicts in schedules the work was performed in August...and we were glad we waited. Scott arrived on time. He also called earlier to remind us he was coming. He was very professional and personable. He was very attentive as we explained the reasons we needed him. He removed the old, and installed the new chandelier, then installed the GFI outlet. So far, all has been working beautifully. He cleaned everything up, and on his way out he noticed a GFI cover laying on our front stoop. It had been broken off the outlet a while back. Scott replaced it with a new one...at no charge to us! WOW! Thanks, Scott.

It was a lot more of a complicated process than I thought to get 2 sconces installed. About 5 or 6 holes had to be made in the wall but I guess thats pretty common. All in all, the job went well.

I purchased the switches required in advance after consulting with the electrician. He was on time, a nice guy and seemed very professional. I will call him for future work.

They company does not offer the work I need done. This was not stated in their "exclusions" I would like a refund.

It went great! The work was well done. We would use him again.
