The workmanship (by Walter and his son) was excellent. It took a day and a half. Walter was helpful in advice on the brand and type of paint to use. I gave him the color choices over the phone and he picked up the paint. They were careful about cleanup and reducing odor (especially the basement floor paint). Walter came back after new carpet was installed and did touch ups. They were very professional and customer oriented. The total cost included 2 coats of paint and kept exactly to the original estimate.

It went extremely well. Walter responded promptly to our estimate request, The estimate he gave was very reasonable, and the work was scheduled for the following week. They always showed up on time, were professional and courteous, and Walter remained in touch with us throughout the project.The work was finished ahead of schedule, and the paint job is great. I would definitely use them again.

Iron rails were weather worn, with white paint mixed with rust cover (though not rusted through in any areas). I was "reminded" several times that the rails were weather beaten, in essence setting the stage for what I considered a less-than-stellar sanding job. After a couple coats of spray Rustoleum later (yes -- spray paint and not a brush), the railings were a pleasant glossy white, For how long remains to be seen. Walter did excel in his responsiveness in terms of taking the job, getting on the job and finishing. However, I'm not sure I'd use his service again. I wanted and expected a confident professional rather than "I'm not really sure what I can do here." UPDATE Dec. 14, in response to contractor's statement -- I originally gave this contractor a "B" for professionalism for aforementioned work provided; however, in response to his Sept. 4 remarks included here (e.g., "I would give this owner an F for a grade."), he earned the updated and accurate assessment. I will let that and his additional snide commentary be assessed by others who may consider this contractor. This iron railing had last gotten a good treatment approximately 10 years prior (contrary to "20 years of neglect"), but developed significant rust spots over the years due to the outdoor elements. Surface rust, not rusted through. The person "misrepresenting the facts" is this contractor; there is no way I expected treatment to consist of spraying over the rust. H***, I could have grabbed a can of paint and sprayed over the rust spots and saved the $200 paid to this guy! I clearly asked for sanding of these ornamental railings, and this "professional" treats the issue with spray paint. At the top of the rail where it meets the soffit, he even expressed wonderment how he'd get into that area too treat it. I thought he was kidding! Now I'll be the one having to crop it tightly with masking tape and treat it properly. As for having to be "reminded" to pay the bill, this contractor made multiple calls in short order to both me and the home's owner -- a senior in her 80s -- who apparently didn't move fast enough for his liking. I personally phoned him and told him his payment was forthcoming, so this contention of "reminders" is baloney. I left his "Quality" grade as a "C," determined to be fair and not let his fabrications affect the truth. The "C" was for paint application. If "Attention to Detail" was offered, an "F" would have been earned to match the grade for professionalism. To those with painting needs, strongly consider alternatives. I will next time. Live and learn.

Walter was very responsive- he came out right away to give us an estimate & offered suggestions because I was having trouble deciding on a paint color. When I finally picked a color I called him back and was able to schedule the job right away. He was punctual & did a great job. The price was much lower than our original painter for the same quality work. I plan on hiring him again soon.

It went great. Family-run business (father and sons), who are professional, efficient and neat. They are very fair as well. The price above includes the paint and materials and the cost of repainting the bedroom after I found I didn't like the first color I had chosen. I called Walter and he charged me a very reasonable amount to come back and repaint it. They are the best painters I have used in a long, long time.

Walter came out and gave me an estimate right away and I scheduled the work a few days later. He was prompt and after he got started made some recommendations and completed the work under the estimate cost. Ceiling looks great!

Walter came to give us an estimate. I was also looking for ideas on what to do about the planters. Walter came up with the suggestion to take them out, cover the openings, and put tile on top. Then just set planters on the tile. Best idea I'd heard! It took them two days to do the work. There was a long gap in the middle because of rainy weather which meant we had a mess longer than I would have liked. But better that than paint when it's going to rain! The deck looks great. Did a good job of cleaning up after themselves also. Great people to work with.

We were able to get an initial visit scheduled quickly, and we liked the quote we received. After some phone tag, we were able to schedule the work date we wanted with no problem. I was not picky about colors at all and just wanted a clean slate on our condo we were renting out. Our painter brought a perfect shade of paint, was very professional and did a great job. We would definitely use them again for another painting job.

The price and estimate process for the interior painting job was good and it won the job for Premium Home Improvement. However, the experience we had with the actual work was not good. They did not complete the repairs to the drywall that they quoted and the job was left incomplete. We had to finish the job ourselves and clean paint out of the new carpet where they did not use drop cloths.

It went wonderfully! Walter was professional and he and his son did a very nice job. They were courteous, professional, meticulous, and completed the job in a timely manner; even with having to repaint the dining room a different color after we changed our mind on the color scheme. We would definitely recommend them and would use them again!

Walter, the owner, promptly returned my phone call, and scheduled an immediate appointment at my convenience to assess the project. He arrived promptly and we discussed the painting project. He asked good questions for clarification, and I received a quote within a few days. Once he was offered the project, he called when he said he would, and we scheduled the painting appointment. He contacted me prior to the appointment to advise me of what I needed to do; which was pick out the paint colors and finishes I wanted. He picked up the paint and arrived with his assistant on-time on the scheduled day; he had two assistants for the second day. To make a long story short, I will not go on into anymore detail; but everything went great! The project was completed on-time, a bit under budget, and Walter and his sons were most pleasant. Walter inspected everything that was done with me, and asked if I had any concers; I did not. When they left the only indications that painters had been in my home for the last 2-days were the beautifully painted walls.

We've used them before, and their painting has always been outstanding. They are perfectionists with their work, great to work with, and we are always happy with the results.

I would not hestiate to recommend this company. Walter and his crew will restore your faith in contracted service. He kept every promise and brought the job in at exactly what he estimated. The job was finished in 1.5 days and the quality of his work was excellent. We spoke on the phone and met once to recap what my expectations were. Walter delivered and the job was spot on. It was a pleasure working with him and his crew. He's an honest business man and I would recommend his services to anyone. Thanks again, Walter!

Contacted Walter after consulting Angie's List. He came over to look the job over within 2 hours of my calling him! I had his estimate 48 hrs. after, and the work was done exactly as promised! There was a minor "punch list" of touching up that was done promptly and cheerfully. All in all, a pleasure to work with!

It went well. We decided on Walter instead of competitor based on his experience. He finished on time, did a nice job, cleaned up well afterward, and was accommodating. They missed a few spots, but we'll probably fix it ourselves...it was a fairly complicated paint job.

Water did a geat job keeping me up to date and the job was done very quickly. The house looks great. I would highly recommed Premium Home Improvement for exterior painting services.

I had Walter to my home for a quote which sounding reasonable, but he wasn't able to complete the job until about 10-14 days from the time he came to my home and the job would take 2 separate days as he stated. I called Walter at his office about 12 days later looking to schedule time for the wallpaper job and he "wasn't sure, maybe next week." He just kept beating around the bush. I then asked do you not want to do the job and he said "well do you have someone to do it sooner?" I told him no because the other company I received a quote from I already told them NO, s I was stuck. I then said should I just forget it and he said that was up to me. I was surprised and told him just to forget it. I'm sorry but that's bad business. He made me wait and then never returned my call and then blew me off. I will never use them ever and I don't recommend them either. The quote he gave was $410 for the 2 days, one for prepping the walls and the second for putting up the wallpaper.

He kept constant contact with us before to the start of work, his price was extremely reasonable and the quality of the work was outstanding. The owner was on the job the entire day. I would highly recommend them to others.

We called Walter the week prior to our closing for a quote. He came about a half an hour early and we discussed what we wanted done. He called the next day with his quotes. Since the price was so great we decided to get almost everything done. He was actually about $900 cheaper than the other guy. Walter was able to start work the week after our close. It took him and his crew 4 days to complete the job. We are very happy with the work that Walter and his crew did and will definitely call him again for any additional work that needs to be done.

Walter is very good at steering the client to what he wants to do and talking his way out of objections/complaints that the client might have. HIs people skills are really superb. However, the quality of his painting leaves something to be desired. I assume he gets all these good ratings because he's punctual, reliable, cheap and, like I said, really has excellent people skills. And people probably file their reports right after he paints. However, if you don't want to have to repaint every six months, don't hire him. He told me I was getting premium Benj. Moore paint, but whatever is on those walls, shows every tiny little contact, and I mean every tiny one. If a piece of furniture (or anything) makes the slightest contact with the wall, a mark appears. It's really ridiculous. The paint on the front porch was put on in October and was destroyed by February. Complete strangers tell me that he should repaint the front porch for free when they hear the paint job is only six months old. The old paint job was on there for five years and the porch looks worse after six months than the old one looked after five years. The interior will have to be redone within a year I'd say. Plus, I got a citation from the police because he didn't add sand to the paint on the front steps and they were so slippery during the winter that the post office complained. I believe a professional painter should know to add sand to wooden front porch steps in Chicago, or at the very least, encourage the homeowner to make that choice by bringing up the issue and explaining why it is needed. This company is the only company I've hired from Angie's List that I was almost completely dissatisfied with. I feel like I was taken by this company.

They responded very quickly to my request for a quote and work was very professional. They covered everything in sight with drop cloths and cleaned up each day. When I added a few more items to the job, they quoted the work before they did it and were very flexible. Before I paid, the owner called to make sure everything was satisfactory. He went over the numbers item by item to make sure I agreed.

Great experience. The work was well done and in a timely fashiona. It was done at a reasonable price.

The job was done quickly and neatly. This estimate was the least expensive that we found. In one case, it was more than $2000.00 cheaper. They did a nice job! I'd use them again.

They did two coats of paint and did excellent work.
