Contract - EXTPAINT - 838976-1 I bought an exterior painting coupon on 4-24-2013 for $1299.00. The service provider of this coupon took more than 5 months to perform a physical inspection of the exterior our home and wash the surface to be painted. Upon my request, Angie's List Big Projects Group transferred my coupon to Premium Home Improvement on 8-28-2013. Spoke to the owner of Premium Home Improvement - Walter Glisson - about his schedule and whether or not he will be able to complete painting of my home before the winter really sets in. Walter told me that he is very busy but he will be able to come over to Romeoville by 9-15-2013 for an appraisal of the exterior painting area and any additional work that the property might need. And he might be able to schedule work on my home by the 3rd or 4th week of September. A few days before the 15th of September, I called the owner again and I was told that he is still planning on visiting the property by 9-15-2013. No call and no show on 9-15-2013. Called the owner as to what happened to the scheduled appraisal appointment on the 15th of September - been busy. Please, use my e-mail and I check my e-mails regularly. Three e-mails to the e-mail address listed on Angieslist ( premiumhomewg@yahoo.com) and couple of phone calls to his office/mobile later regarding the appraisal of exterior painting area, I was told that he could not take the time out of his busy schedule to come to Romeoville for a physical inspection of my home. He can as well estimate the external painting area by looking at clear pictures of FOUR SIDES of my home. As soon as I get the pictures of your home, I(owner of Premium Home Improvement) will give you a call as to the external surface area to be painted and proposed painting schedule. Sent the pictures on the 28th of September to Premium Home Improvement. I copied Big Projects Group on some of these e-mails as well. I called the Premium Home Improvement on the 2nd of October only to be told that he has discontinued using premiumhomewg@yahoo.com sometime ago. His new e-mail address is glisson3601@comcast.net. I sent the four pictures of my home again on the 10-2-2013. Got a call from the owner of Premium Home Improvement indicating that a crew will be at my home on the 7th of October at 8:00 AM depending on the weather. Not a word about the external painting area by the owner of Premium Home Improvement. Bad weather on the 7th caused Premium Home Improvement to come out to Romeoville on the 8th. THE REST IS HALF COMPLETED HOUSE. WEATHER DAMAGE ON THE PAINTED SURFACES IS STILL VISIBLE. This Review will be revised when once the work is completed.

I received no call back. After two weeks I called again and this time received a call back a couple days later and the man said he is really busy, so sorry, but since he is going on vacation in a few days, he could not even look at the houses to give me a bid for three weeks, would I still like a bid. I said yes and put Saturday 9/14 on my calendar as day they would come bid the job. Someone did call me a couple days before to confirm I still wanted the bid and I said yes (although they had no idea what the job was for which surprised me, so I gave address and all that again). I called again the week after 9/14 as I did not receive a bid and to date no one has returned that call. They basically just wasted a month of my time with their excuses. Good news they are busy and may do a great job, bad news is they are not just honest enough to say they are too busy to consider your job.

Great job on painting and clean - up. There was some confusion on the details of the Big Deal, some of which was my fault (as I had some walls taller than those limited by deal). As a result, I had to have them come back a 2nd day to do the extra work and additional costs. I believe that the cost for the extra work was reasonable given the circumstances.

Very well. Professional painters. It was a job that was fairly easy to do, I have a one story ranch but there is no way I could have done it as well nor in the two days that it took their crew to finish the job. I would not have done it as well either. They firmly met my expectations.

These guys were great. We closed on our house and wanted to get a painter in right away. We called several painters and Walter was the first to get back to us with the best price. He was able to begin work within days of our first phone call. Walter explained how to prepare for the painters, which we did. The painters arrived on time and began work promptly. They were able to finish our entire house in one day, which I did not think would happen. When I arrived home to see the work, I could not be happier. I have seen many "professional" paint jobs and with many of them you can tell they cut corners or left paint splatters. That was not the case with these painters at all; everything looked wonderful. We will definitely be calling them back when it is time to paint our ceilings and the exterior of our house!

2 separate attempts to buy this package, 1st offer, left message got voice mail with only phone number, tried calling back, no response. 2nd time package offered, I bought it and again left a voice mail and no response after 4 days. Have lost faith in this provider.

Summary: the painters don't care what the walls look like when they're done, as long as they're a different color afterward; they left a huge mess, including paint splattered on my laminate flooring; and Walter lied to my husband about what had transpired. Not only will I never use this company again, I think Walter should give me my money back because of the cleanup I still have to do on the floor, and the fact that now another company has to redo part of the job I paid him for. At the very least, Angie's List should never allow him to run another Big Deal. The details: I bought a Big Deal on Angie's List for 2 painters for a day, meaning 8 hours. They were only at my house for 7.5, and that's including their lunch break. It started out badly when the team (Dan, the son of the owner, and Rich, another painter) was over an hour late and never even called. They said that they had to leave by 4:00 because Dan had a baseball game that night on the other side of Chicago. A professional would just be late to his game, or would give me a discount for the lack of man hours. Although, a professional would have called saying that we was going to be late. The Big Deal said that they don't do wall prep. However, I told Walter (the owner) that morning that I didn't have spackle, and he said not to worry about it. That implies that the team would patch whatever needed to be patched. They painted over 2 cracks which I could not have patched anyway because of where they are (very high on the ceiling or over stairs). They painted over an outlet, cover and receptacle. They left popped studs popped, which look terrible but which are right under the highest point of a vaulted ceiling, which I had no way to fix myself. They splattered paint on the laminate flooring half a floor below the main level on which they painted, and dripped paint onto the unpainted base molding at the base of the stairs. Toward the end of the day, the paint was drying in the trays, and they just rolled the flecks of drying latex onto the walls. I tried to remove a few while the paint was still wet, but that just smudged the paint. The carpet under the drop cloth was covered in dried paint flecks when they left. While cleaning their rollers, they walked back and forth over my son's racetrack rug (clearly a child's play space) with their uncovered work boots. When I realized how much of the wall still needed a second coat of paint, I asked Dan (owner's son) if I could help, since I had painted a lot myself, and the main reason for hiring someone for that room was the vaulted ceilings. He said I could. If he were uncomfortable with that situation, he should have spoken up. Dan called his father for an estimate to finish the job, and the answer he gave me was an additional $300, and he even suggested a couple of days the following week when they were available. I tried to call the owner a couple of times about at least fixing the job they did. Finally, he returned my call while my husband was home but I wasn't, and yelled at my husband (who had nothing to do with the painters) about how it was outrageous that I picked up a roller (he said that about 10 times), and that the painters were so uncomfortable that they called Walter and he told them that they should get out as soon as possible, and that they would never paint for us again. Here's why that can't be what he actually said to them: 1) They told me early in the day that they had to leave by a certain time. 2) They offered to come back the next week to finish the job. 3) Walter left a message suggesting other days (beside the first ones he suggested) that his crew was available to return and suggested I call him to schedule. He actually blamed me for the fact that the painters didn't clean up after themselves instead of taking responsibility for his employees. A client asking to pick up a roller shouldn't have unnerved a painter to the extent that Walter is claiming his son was unnerved.

We had ceiling, walls and trim painted. Work was excellent! Will definitely use them again.

The men arrived at 7:30 a.m. even a few minutes early to start. Walter is very organized and knows exactly how to proceed. He asked several questions, as I had not had much contact with them before hand. I did try to have everything ready to go and that was a great help in getting things off to a good start. They worked very well together and went right at it. They removed wallpaper, washed the walls, patched many holes and then moved into getting it all painted. Walter had told me to have some other small project ready in case they got done early. I didn't think there would be any time for that as there was a lot of work to do, but they were done early and I ran to the paint store and they were able to go over my stained glass door and side lights with a new coat to protect it even further. I would definitely recommend them and have them again.

Walter's team showed up on time, in fact they were actually about 15 minutes early, they came in quickly assessed the work to be done and he had the team working on the rooms within 20 minutes of arrived. Fabulous job! His team was very courtious and nice. Would defintely hire again.

They did a good work and finished ahead of time.

We were very pleased with the services provided by Premium Home Improvement. The painters were punctual, friendly, and professional--and we actually had more painting done for the package (2 painters for a day) than we thought possible. We are especially pleased with the quality of the paint job itself, as well as the neatness of the painters. At the end of the day, you couldn't even tell that painters had been here, and the job exceeded our expectations.

The contractor was prompt, courteous and did a very good job.

There was nothing great about Premium Home Improvement at all, but they were fine. Upon looking, I think we could have gotten a better deal. I have seen things that seem to be greater in deal.

With the exception of one room, we have the entire home painted and it looks great. We picked out the colors and purchased the paint on our own. Walter and his team painted the space in about 6 hours and did a great job. They also did some patch work and did a great job as well. All of his staff was professional and friendly. I would definitely use their services again!

Overall, it went fine. We were having this done in a very short period of time and from out of state. I was a disappointed that they weren't able to paint all the rooms and closets I wanted under the $399 for one day of work Angie's list deal because I guess I didn't have a good sense of how much needed to be done. Also, communication via email was not always as responsive as I would have preferred and the schedules always seemed to conflict with when things could be done within our schedule. However, when we did talk to the owner, we were able to work it out where they came back to do the rest of the work and they did an excellent repairing some of the walls, the painting itself was done very well in a short period of time, and I was very happy that the workers managed not to splatter anything on my wood floors and stairwell. For all those reasons I would recommend them to others if asked.

The overall experience was great and we are happy with the results. These guys are perfect for when you know what paint colors and square footage. Calculating the square footage of wall space in order to stay within the 1800 max for a the deal was a bit of a challenge. As I walked them through my project they trusted my calculations and even suggested that I was under the 1800 so we were able to get our laundry painted as well. They (owner and 2 assistants) arrived right on time and immediately got to work as I walked them through the job. They patched all drywall dinges and holes. (For any large holes I would recommend getting these patched ahead of time). They asked questions when I was not clear on what should get painted rather than assuming. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly they were able to get he job done. The worked non stop for about 6 hours.

We had Walter and team repaint our 2 bed/2 bath condo. Everything pretty much went in line with what was written in the deal details (we had slightly more than 1800 sq. ft. of wall space, but Walter let it slide). On the initial phone call, Walter walked me through the fine print and provided instructions on how to make everything go smoothly (i.e. measure wall space, develop plan, etc.). As a novice, he was patient in answering all my questions and providing feedback into what works best where (i.e. bathroom gloss vs. eggshell). I called him a couple of times while I was at the paint store and he answered my call and questions each time. Scheduling was no issue and he was able to accommodate our preferred date. On paint day, everything went fairly smoothly. I had to buy additional paint on demand, but that was by design and planned (we did not want to have to buy paint we didn't need). Walter and team arrived before 8am and wrapped up by 4pm. We initially thought about having the trim painted as well--the estimated additional cost would have been $300 to be done on another day, but the place looked good already when they wrapped up so we decided to hold off.

It turned out good. I paid some extra for a couple of extra rooms. I would say they are confident and trustworthy.

Very thorough, Walter prepared us well for their visit, asking all the right questions so there were no surprises on the actual day of service. Clean, neat, punctual. Would recommend without question.

We had been referred to Walter by a friend who has hired Premium Home Improvement quite a few times with good results. I called Walter and left a message, asking him to come out to give us an estimate. It took him a couple of days to return my call, but he was able to come to the house quickly to take a look at the job after we spoke. Walter is a no-nonsense professional and clearly knows his stuff. He provided a verbal estimate for the work within a couple of days, and his price was extremely reasonable. We scheduled the painting to be done a few weeks later, and communicated entirely via email until the start date. We told him which paint colors we chose for which rooms, and he got the paint for us at cost. Walter and three other workers (two of whom are his sons) arrived on time on the project start day. They were all polite and professional, and cleaned up after themselves after the first day of work. Walter and his sons arrived on time the second day, and completed the work without issue. We couldn't be more pleased with the work that Walter and his crew provided--a professional job at a very decent price. We will absolutely call Walter again.

We had to rearrange our project date about three time, due to family issues, and each time Walter graciously accommodated our needs. His son and partner arrived on time, evaluated the work to be done and started immediately. We had completed the pre-sanding and washing of the walls and some spackle work. They spackled a couple of areas in our bedroom and kitchen so that the old defects are not even noticeable now. They made sure drop cloths were used in all areas. A crack on the ceiling of a bedroom was missed but Daniel will correct that when they return. We used Benjamin Moore paints as advised by Walter and are very happy with the results. We would highly recommend this company and will use them again.

This company has been extremely responsive. The owner answers calls and emails, and does the painting himself with one co-worker. The quality of painting was really first rate.
