The air conditioner is not working. I called them up, I have concern about my health. Within an hour they came out to fix it and that is the best based on my opinion. They are courteous, hardworking, and very polite. They can't do better than that.

They're great. I've used them 2 or 3 times. They came right away, that day.

It's important when you have tenants to take care of the heating and he came out right away.

They installed a new A/C unit and air handler the next day!

It was excellent. I am very satisfied with them. They're remarkable. They aren't greedy. They have employees that have been with the company for 30-40 years.

Pete, the owner had quoted us on a couple of different American Standard furnaces. Our old furnace was horizontal in a crawl space, so there was not a lot of room for anyone to work. He gave us options on various sizes and models. His price was better than 2 competitors and the installation went quicker and neater than we expected. We would definitely use them again.

I was referred to able Heating and Cooling after my installing company went out of business. He made so many repairs on my equipment but was never able to repair. He just kept collection money. Then he took warranty equipment and never replaced it or returned it. I have called his office many times he never returns calls. His office help indicates that this is how he operates, he does not return calls or follow up. She indicated he will check the caller ID each night and just delete the numbers from the list. He has yes to deliver Humidifier equipment that I paid for. At this point I just want my equipment back and he will not return. His assistant indicates he lost it somewhere in the attic. Please be extremely caution when delivering any money to this company. Use a Credit Card not a check. UPDATE 2/9/16: I just received notification from the Attorney General that they are investigating this company, and that he is non-responsive to their attempts at communication.

This service went fine. I chose this provider after a lot of searching because he was very responsive. They installed quickly, answered all of my questions and he was responsive to my budget needs.

I purchased my property over the summer, so it was very surprising when my heater gave out. It was two weeks before Christmas and as you can imagine the extreme winters in chicago below 0 degrees. I called a couple places(including four seasons), and the price range was from $7-10k. I didn't have that kind of money, being this was my first property, and I only lived in it six months. At the point of giving up, I went back down to the basement to take another look at my problem. Next, I saw a label on the heater for the second floor unit that was a newer model. It was for Abel heating. I called explain the situation and the next morning Pete, the owner came out gave me several options on models and prices.(My furnace was over 30-40 years old.) The price was around. $4000.00 give or take not sure of the exact amount, I just know it was a lot less than the other places. He was on time, friendly, very professional, and empathetic to my situation. He seem more concern than I was that I had no heat in the dead of winter.(used space heaters in the meantime.) I advice I needed time to get the money together. He said not to worry with a $1000.00 deposit he can get the unit ordered and they can bring it. Then the final payment would be due at the job completion. I had heat for Christmas! He has a very good heart. I truly appreciated everything he did for me in my time of need. It goes without saying; you get better service from a small business than a big corporation. I will always be loyal to this company and will use them for any heating/cooling job. th 51st CourtOwner came to walk down the job with me.He was an hour late due to an emergent job.We walked down the job and he promised that he would get back to me with a number, never did. I placed 2-3 calls inquiring about when I would get a number with each time an excuse without a firm date. The reason why I spent as much time as I did getting an estimate was due to the fact that the owner had done work at my primary residence and the service, quality and price were top notch. The owner is very knowledgeable and had a nice personality. To this date when I tell the story to friends they cannot understand his actions. My only thought is if he did not want the job he should have told me and beat around the bush.

From start to finish the experience with this company was extremely pleasant. The price was fair - the installation was fast - they were very neat - everyone involved in the process was very courteous & professional. I will use them again & I highly recommend them.

They were reliable and they gave me a service more than what I had expected. I didn’t quite expect that they would demonstrate how to clean the air conditioning unit to me and give me a lot of suggestions. They were informative. I would continue to use them in the future.

I have a SpacePak in my house and lot of people doesn’t know that we can get air conditioning from that. We called many people to repair it but they said that they couldn’t do it and Able heating &cooling came in and they said that they would just expand the air duct unit and I have no problem with the air conditioning for years now. They did everything well and they were on time. Their price was good and they knew their stuff well. I would rate them high overall. I would use them again in the future.

I called to have the furnace checked specifically because it was making a strange sound. When I made the appointment over the phone, I told this to the receptionist. I told this to the service person again while I was showing him the furnace. I left him alone to work. About 20 minutes later, he was packing up and told me that he was done and everything was fine. I asked about the noise and he looked confused. I reminded him that the reason he was there is that I was concerned about the noise. He told me that it never made a noise while he was working on it. I explained that it happens frequently, but not every time the furnace goes on. He had little interest in addressing the problem - he just wanted to get on his way. He continued to pack up and told me to call again when I hear the noise and make an appointment for them to come back out.

I don’t know if they do heating but they do air conditioning. I have a radiator house and they put in an air conditioning system and they were excellent. They were awesome and the work went well. We called them up and told them I had seen them on a home improvement shows. We didn’t know what to do about our four stair heating system and they said they specialize in air conditioning homes with radiator heats. They came out and looked. We had tried about four or five companies and they were like I can’t do it and things like that. It was a young guy Allen who came fro Able Heating & Cooling, he went in to our attic and said there is no problem we can suspend this from being the air conditioning unit. They put in these ducts and they are like flexible tools like about the size of a compact disk. They ran them through the house. We have three in the living room, two in the dining room and the entire two story house. He was on-time, professional and clean. It worked fine and the house gets really cool like you can set it at 72 degrees and the house will be nice and cold. The unit that they used is called Spacepack and it is really good. I would highly recommend them. The price depends on the size of your house so it cost us 11000 dollars. I would definitely use them in future if needed.

The serviceman was very polite and very efficient. He explained what he was doing as he was working and I really appreciated that. It put my mind at ease (as if being Angie's List Approved wasn't enough!) to know that he was actually doing the work I was being charged for. He even knew the history of our units, as he had apparently been the one to come out and inspect the units for the previous owner of our house. All in all, it was a great experience, and we will definitely be calling them again soon to service our furnaces for the winter season.

We have used this company in the past. At first we were pleased, but have been receiving consistently worse service. We called them on a muggy Saturday to repair our air conditioning. They had been out a couple of months before to service the A/C (around 180$ for the service) so we assumed that this might be related and wouldn't cost us anything. My mother was in town babysitting, and the repairman made my mother hold his ladder in the rain (for 10-15 minutes, twice) while she had to leave my 2 year old on the porch below by herself. The repairman also did the work without quoting anyone about a price, assuming we wanted it done at any cost. He later entered our home and wiped himself off with our dish towels without asking. We are very displeased with the service -- which we told the owner. However, he was very defensive and blamed the entire incident on us. We will not be using them in the future.

They came right out. They were professional and the experience was great. They even came in with the lowest bid. I would use them again in the future and would recommend them to others.

I called at 8:15am on this morning (Thursday) for a/c service/check up, and they had time to work on it the same day between 9 and noon. Jim called about 9:45am and said he would be here in 15 minutes or less and he was. He serviced the refrigerant, cleaned the unit and changed the filter, and checked everything out. He was so personable and knowledgeable, giving me tips on how to save money when running the a/c. I was so pleased! We have used Able in the past and will definitely use them again.

Pete set up a lengthy appointment in my home to discuss in detail what I wanted and what system would work best in my home. It took 3 workers 1.5 days to complete the job (as scheduled). They worked efficiently and did excellent work. They didn't mind my 17 year old dog standing next to them watching them work. One of the guys took the time to explain the programmable thermostat and the air cleaner operation, instead of just leaving the books. Bringing in the new system left skid marks on the walkway. When I mentioned this to Pete at the end of the job, he had his guys clean it up with soap and water. Pete came to the house a couple of times during the project to check on things. This was greatly appreciated since I have had other major jobs done where the owner didn't even check at the end of the job and problems surfaced later.
