Dunne's workers were prompt, pleasant, responsive to my questions/concerns. They did a very good job.

Very well, we had them service our carpets several years ago.

Amazing results. Any signs of wear, rust - all of it gone and the carpet looks like new, which I did not think was possible. Very professional and kind. Particularly marked areas were re-worked until perfect. Condo on the 3rd floor reached by their equipment through a front window. Would definitely use again.

They just redid my carpets that looked like a dog lived in them because I had my kitchen redone so my carpets looked like they needed to be replaced and they just cleaned them and they look brand new.

Excellent on all counts - prompt with pickup and delivery. Moved furniture upon collection and delivery. Quality of cleaning was excellent on all three rugs. I could not be more pleased and will definitely use this service again. Thank you!

Prompt and professional, but the carpet seemed to have a dried residue on it after cleaning.

We were referred by a friend to call Dunne Cleaning to clean the carpeting in our new home. The carpeting was extremely dirty and looked like it had Not been cleaned in years. The crew did an amazingly thorough job! They were extremely professional and friendly and we were absolutely blown away at how clean the carpeting came out. I would highly recommend Dunne Cleaning and will always continue to use them in the future.

Update as of May 2014: Within two weeks of writing the critical review below, I received a letter from Dunne's attorney not only telling me to stop speaking negatively about them, but accusing me of having someone pose as a sheriff and contact them on my behalf. Apparently Dunne likes to handle negative reviews with fear and intimidation as opposed to simply focusing on providing good quality service. I think they've lived in Chicago too long! If I was going to have someone contact them, it would be an attorney; having a sheriff contact them doesn't even make any sense. In fact, until I wrote this review, I had not told a single person about the incident, let alone carry out some charade. Their accusations are absolutely absurd. I don't know if they made up this crazy story themselves or if their smarmy attorney made it up, but either way, it shows you how desperate and unprofessional they are. My review is 100% factual, no exaggerations, and I stand by every word. I nominate them and their attorney for the PENALTY BOX. Original Review : The cleaning of the sofa and chair went fine, as expected. Their webSite goes on and on about how they are experts at cleaning oriental rugs so I hired them to clean a rug that I absolutely love that had never been cleaned. When the employee came to my house to pick up the rug I told him that the rug was part silk and that they needed to make sure that any product or process that they used had be ok for silk. The red headed guy kind of blue me off, telling me that my rug was not silk. Anyway, the rug came back damaged. everywhere there was silk, which was mostly an edging detail around the flowers- was and still is ruined. I am looking at my rug now as I type this and my blood boils to see all of the white spots scattered throughout my rug. I bought this rug on sale at Marshall Fields and paid about $5,000 (sale price for it). I still have the receipt. The rug is beautiful and goes with all of my furnishings. A rug like this wears like iron and should last through generations. I alerted the delivery man that the rug looked funny and immediately got on the phone with Mr. Dunne who agreed to come out and look at it. Right off the bat they started to tell me there was nothing wrong with it. Are you kidding me? Are you blind? Anyway they took my rug back to the plan to see if they could "fix" it which I knew would be an impossible task. I specifically told them that if they couldn't "fix" it I wanted to go with them to an appraiser of my choosing to certify that a) it was damaged and b) that it was caused by the cleaning process. Without me and without my permission they took my rug to two different places and simply asked to have it appraised. the appraisers said that it was a used rug worth between $500-$1,000. That is not the point at all! The point is that I can't replace this rug for $1,000 and the rug had no damage and no noticeable stains when I gave it to them. I just wanted the rug freshened up. Now it has what looks like bleach spots all over it and since I wasn't there to talk to their hand picked appraisers (read friends) no one asked them to look at and certify the damage. When the Dunne Family realized the replacement value of the rug they got very mean and defensive because they didn't want to pay to make me whole. I have no doubt in my mind that I can sue them in small claims court. The only delay has been that I have to pack up this heavy rug by myself, have the damaged evaluated, and then peruse them. Its not easy to transport a full size oriental rug which is the only reason I haven't sued them for the replacement value of this rug. The entire thing breaks my heart because it was a lot of money to spend on something that should have lasted generations. I do not have the money to pay $5,000 today on a rug and I feel absolutely robbed that the Dunne family has essentially robbed me. The Dunnes are nice people and they are a great choice for wall to wall carpeting and furniture. But when it comes to oriental rugs- stay away! As much as they tried to do the right thing in the beginning, they got very unprofessional and defensive when they realized they value of the rug. I think they thought it was an $800 rug from Home Goods. I am incredibly angry that thanks to Dunne Cleaning going outside of their true area of expertise I either a) dispose of my cherished rug b) live with it white spots and all or c) pay to replace it. I can never afford to buy the same quality rug again and I shouldn't have to buy a much cheaper version because the Dunne family ruined by rug. It is absolutely nauseating!

The carpet was cleaned well but they patched up the duct in an unacceptable manner. I think their prices are a little to high.

They did not get some dirt out in front of the closet door, but cane back and did a good job

They came out, they gave me an estimate, I only wanted one small room cleaned, and that would have been their minimum price so I asked if they could do something else in another apartment. He looked at it and he said yes and that was within the minimum, he didn't try to charge me anything extra. The fellows who came and did the work were efficient, they did a nice job, I have no complaints at all. I think they are competitive. One of the things that I liked was they didn't have to do it for me but they moved furniture. I've had other people come in and they won't move the furniture. That's an A+.

Very professional service--prompt, reasonable, courteous. Cost much less than the company we'd used previously. The workers who delivered the cleaned rugs even helped move furniture. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or use them in the future.

Thomas Dunne, Jr. and his staff came to the property and cleaned the carpeting which was very badly stained. To be frank, I was shocked to see that the stains were lifted and never reappeared! It truly was amazing! Everyone in our building was extremely impressed by their work, tenacity, professionalism and willingness to answer any questions we had. This company is fantastic and I will gladly refer it to others, as I am doing now. If you want your carpeting cleaned, and cleaned well, hire them. They simply are the best in the industry.

Excellent and professional service from the family-receptionist was a bit curt but Mr. Dunne was great.

Both area rugs came back looking like new. The one oriental was light colored and looked beautiful. The shag like flokoti looked like the day we bought it in Greece. The rugs were ready on time and the people at the office helped put the rugs in the car. I opted for the extra discount in bringing in the rugs myself. One of the gentleman came to the house to give an estimate on wall to wall cleaning...we have yet to clean those carpets...we may be pulling them out instead...but if we were to have them cleaned, I would definitely have Dunne come to the house.

I called Dunne based on good reports from Angie's list. They gave me an estimate and some printed materials, explained their method of using brushes and machine extraction of water, and gave me a price. I don't mind paying for a good job, so I went with them despite the slightly higher cost. I was very glad.

I called for an appointment with Dunne Cleanning Specialists Inc. The receptionists asked me how I heard of the company. I replied that I found it on Angie's List. I selected them because of their excellent rating and because they are a local company. Tom Dunne, the owner, came to our home at my convenience and he arrived on time. He was very pleasant as he explained his company's cleaning process and services. He took measurements of all the rooms we wanted to have done. He estimated the cost of cleaning the carpeting and upholstery. Tom answered all of my questions satisfactorily. He applied a discount because I was a member of Angie's List. I scheduled the service to be performed on a day of my choosing. John Dunne arrived on time with Salvador, his assistant, The were neatly dressed in uniform and they wore protective coverings on their shoes. John and I reviewed the services that I ordered. We looked at every room that was to be cleaned. He was very accomodating. He and Salvador moved all of the furniture in order to clean all of the areas of carpeting. He and Salvador took care in moving other items (lamps and such) that my wife and I couldn't get to prior to thier arrival. As the cleaning process was nearing completion, John asked me whether I wanted the areas stain protected with Scotch Guard. We discussed the pro's and con's and he gave me a price. I agreed to have the carpet and upholstery protected. John and Salvador placed protective plastic blocks under the feet/legs of the funiture to protect the carpet while it dried. The job took approximately 3 1/2 hours to complete. Cleaning the upholstery and applying stain protector to it and the carpeting was costlier than I expected. However, I understand that cleaning the upholstery is a labor intensive, hands on process. We were satisfied with the results and the entire experience. We would hire Dunne Cleaning Specialists again and we would recommend them to our family and friends.

They arrived within the time they specified before hand. They worked quickly and proficiently. They cleaned up after themselves. They answered any questions I had about what they were doing. I think their duct cleaning ($315) is higher than other companies but I feel their cleaning method is better than the others. I would highly recommend this company.

I was disgusted with them, as they did a terrible job. The house was empty, as we were getting ready to move in. We just had the hardwood floors sanded, and they would not remove their shoes or wear booties to help protect the floors. I would never use them for any services in the future.

I contacted Dunne based on the Angie's List recommendations. They responded to my request for an estimate very quickly, which was important because my living room was empty after painting, and I would have to live that way until the carpets were cleaned. They also fit in the actual service very quickly, even if that meant they had to come after 3:00 pm. The job they did was fantastic!! It wasn't easy because of all the cat hair....but I am very happy with the results. Based on the stuff coming off of the furniture, they were dirtier than they looked. The crew was efficient, professional, and friendly. They were willing to answer questions on caring for the carpet in the future.

What an outstanding company! The owner came to the house to do an estimate personally, and explained everything that they would be doing. I had had duct cleaning done in another home, but not as thoroughly as these guys! They use a brush to go through the ducts rather than just sucking out the dirt...which some companies do. This house had fist fulls of dirt in the ducts that I had removed.....so I was very glad to have such a thorough job done. Also, for the carpet cleaning, they first scrub and shampoo the carpet, then do a second steam cleaning after than. The carpets remained wet for more than a day, which was ok because I didn't move into the house for a week. There is also a small smell associated with the cleaning chemicals that dissipates within a few days. They saved carpets I would have probably had to trash. I was extremely pleased and saved several thousand dollars that I can re-purpose to other remodeling items.

I would strongly recommend them. We have gotten several compliments on their work.

They did a nice job. Our place is in the hot suburb and the house was pretty nasty. They were here as expected. They were very quick and efficient. They left the house looking very nice.

The gentleman who came to give us the estimate was on time and professional, and didn't try to "up-sell" additional services other than providing us with some brochures (which is good, because I hate up-sellers!). He spelled out what the prices were for each service, and told us that we could avoid the pickup/delivery charges on the rug if we just picked it up ourselves--the upholstery cleaners would pick it up from our house free of charge since they were coming anyway. When we called to schedule the cleaning, we were able to get an appointment within the next few days. The cleaners were on time, courteous, and did a nice job. (They even got some nail polish off the couch that I thought would never come out.) But the best part was the rug cleaning--the upholstery guys picked up the rug, and it was done in a week. And it looks fantastic. I wasn't sure if they'd be able to get it clean (why oh why did I get a beige rug for the kitchen when there are kids in the house?), but it looks practically new again. I'm very pleased with the entire process--I would definitely use them again.
